This must be derived from Canvas URL, Secure Canvas URL

    Ticket by tgifreyday | June 13, 2014 | Question
    • I added a web app to my site.  The app offers a Facebook login, but when I enter the url (http://www.livelocalandprosper.com/#!discover/c196s) on the developers section of Facebook, I get this message:

This must be derived from Canvas URL, Secure Canvas URL, Unity Binary URL, Site URL, Mobile Site URL, Page Tab URL or Secure Page Tab URL. Check and correct the following domains: www.livelocalandprosper.com

Could you please explain what this means and what I need to do?

      Hey,

      Thank you for reaching out,

I can see you've embedded the app using the HTML App.

What exactly are you doing with the URL of that page? are you trying to post it to Facebook?

Keep in mind that by adding external HTML code you are adding products and code that we have not tested or created in Wix, therefore our support team cannot answer any questions concerning the HTML iFrame/Embed App.

I wish that you would re-read my explanation of the issue. It answers your questions. I know how to post a URL to Facebook, please don't insult my intelligence.

But, just in case you need more explanation.  You know how when you go to sign-in to an app on your phone, some apps give you the option of using Facebook or Twitter to sign-in instead of the traditional email and password combo?  That's what I am trying to do.   Since the app is hosted in my website, I entered the URL from here, that's when I got the error message that I mentioned above.

Here is a screenshot of the Facebook developer's page I am talking about.

      Hey,

I am sorry for the confusion, I did not mean it that way, thank you for the additional details.

Since you are utilizing the HTML App and using an app that was not created by us we are not able to support it.

You should contact Facebook directly, they will be able to shed some more light on the problem you are facing.
