Dana, I need your help connecting my mmm.com domain to a new site called coming soon. I hate to ask but the whole process of connecting and reconnecting is still confusing to me. Thanks
I wish there was a better way to stop the site from being visible and only show an under construction sign, because we are getting close to launching date an 72 hours sound like an eternity to reconnect.
I can see that you have multiple Premium sites under your account. Please specify which domain you wish to connect to which site and I'll be happy to guide you through.Danna- Wix Team
If you have published your site but it is still not ready, you can place a notification on your home page and say it is under construction. When users enter the website that will be the page they see! Make sure you do not add any menus or buttons. This way when users view your page, they will not be able to navigate to any other pages.
The connection process may take 3 days, but usually takes only a day or even less. It depends on how fast the domain hosting company updates your domain records. Is the domain you wish to connect to your site registered with Wix, or with another domain company?
As soon as you provide us with the domain name and the site you wish to have it connect it to, we'll do our best to assist you with connecting the two as promptly as possible.
We await your reply.Danna- Wix Team
Thank you Dana, I want to connect the www.mundomariam(etc).com to the site called Coming soon.
And thanks for the clarification regarding the timeframe for the changes, all my domains are now with Wix.
The reason you haven't been able to assign your domain to your site 'coming-soon' is because it is not a Premium site.
I can see that your domain mundomariamontessori.com is currently assigned to: mundo-montessori (which is Premium). Would you like to transfer the Premium package from this site to "coming-soon" to enable the domain connection?Danna- Wix Team
Dana I'm having second thoughts, do you have any tutorial on how to put that coming soon ad in front of the whole page, and maybe put a link with a password to let the customer see and test the site.I really appreciate your help and patience.
You can add a member login button to your site so that your visitors can sign up or login to your site and access your members-only pages.
To add a member login button to your site:
1. From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon.
2. From Add, click Apps.
3. From Apps, search for Member Login Button and click on Add to site.
4. Drag the Member Login Button into place.
5. Click it and click Show on all pages.
A member login button is added to all of the pages of your site.
For more information about members-only pages, click here.
If you prefer putting a "coming soon" message instead, it is best to simply edit your site's main page and remove all content from it, including navigation and menu buttons.
Then, once you are ready to launch the site, you can restore it back to a previously saved version that contains the content of the main page following the steps in this thread.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you need any further assistance!Danna- Wix Team
