Using Buttons

Add buttons to your site and link them to your pages, to email addresses, to documents or to external sites. Customize your buttons to match the look and feel of your site.

Adding a Button

Add a button to your site from the Buttons & Menus section of Add and link it to an external site, a page from your site, a document or an email address.

To add a button:

1. From the left side of the Editor, click the plus sign to open Add.
2. From Add, click Buttons & Menus and click Button.
3. From Button Settings, under Button Text, type a name for your button.

4. Under Link to, click the field.
5. From Link, click a link type: Web Address, Page, Email or Document and add your link.

6. Click OK.
7. Click outside of the button to close Button Settings.

To return to Add, click Back to Add from the top of the Buttons & Menus window.
To close Add, click X from the top right.

Editing a Button

You can edit your button text and link by clicking on your button to open Button Settings.

To edit a button:

1. Double-click your button.
2. From Button Settings, under Button Text, edit the name for your button.

3. Under Link to, click the field.
4. From Link, click a link type: Web Address, Page, Email or Document and add your link.

5. Click OK.
6. Click outside of the button to close Button Settings.

Button Options

Button Text – add the text that will appear on your button.
Link – link your button to an external website, a page of your site, an email address or a document.
Text Alignment – align your text to the left, center or right of your button.
Margin – set the spacing between your button text and button border.
Style – change the style of your button or create your own.

Linking Your Buttons

Once you have added a button, you can link it to external websites, other pages of your site, email addresses and documents.

Linking Your Button to an External Web Address

To link your button to an external web address:

1. Double-click your button.
2. From Button Settings, under Link to, click the field.
3. From Link, click Web Address.
4. From Link to Web Address, under Insert a web address, type in the external website’s URL.

5. Click the dial next to Open in new window or Open in same window.
6. Click OK.
7. Click outside of the button to close Button Settings.

Linking Your Button to another Page

To link your button to another page:

1. Double-click your button.
2. From Button Settings, under Link to, click the field.
3. From Link, click Page.
4. From Link to Page, under Select Page, click the drop-down menu and select a page. Click OK.

5. Click outside of the button to close Button Settings.

Linking Your Button to an Email Address

To link your button to an email address:

1. Double-click your button.
2. From Button Settings, under Link to, click the field.
3. From Link, click Email.
4. From Link to Email, under Insert an email address, type an email address.
5. Under Insert a subject, type a subject for your email. Click OK.

6. Click outside of the button to close Button Settings.

Linking Your Button to a Document

To link your button to a document:

1. Click your button.
2. From Button Settings, under Link to, click the field.
3. From Link, click Document.
4. From Link to Document, click Choose Document.
5. From Choose Document, click Upload Documents.
6. Browse your folders and select your document. Click Open to upload the document.
To select more than one document, hold down the CTRL key and click several documents.
7. From the Document Gallery, click your document and then click Choose Document.
8. Click outside of the button to close Button Settings.

It is possible to upload the following document types: doc & .docx, .xls & .xlsx, .ppt & .pptx, .odt, .odp and .pdf
