With the HTML App you can add your own HTML code or embed another site onto your Wix site.

To add the HTML App: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click Apps > click HTML.

Click the HTML App to select it > from the pop-up menu, click Settings > under Mode, choose HTML Code or Website address > enter the code/address > click Update.

Note: Take a minute to read through the Known Issues & Limitations of the HTML iFrame/Embed App before using it.

    I am following the tutorial for embedding iframes directly from the Wix site.  When I test the code on the sites provided it displays correctly, so there is not problem with the code.  However, on my Wix site, only a small sliver of the page being embedded actually shows up despite resizing the box correctly.

    <iframe title="Store Widget" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="100%" height="575" src="http://www.cdbaby.com/widgets/store/store.aspx?id=AtOS%2fonQr3KH7CC1kjgVqw%3d%3d&type=ByArtist&c1=0x443131&c2=0xDBDC75&c3=0x919677&c4=0x584B44&c5=0x799E42&c6=0xD0D8AA&c7=0xF2FCE2"></iframe>

      Hey rocketjnyc

      Which of your sites ar you referring to and in which page is the HTML app?

      If the HTML app isn't working, it may be a problem with the code. You can check if the code is correct by using this site.
      Simply paste the html code between <body> RIGHT HERE </body> and click the button above (Edit and Click Me) in order to see the results.
      If nothing appears in the right window or a certain component appears but doesn't work, this means that the code is problematic. Please contact the creator of the code and let them know that it isn't working.
      If the preview shows the content as expected, then it's a compatibility issue with Wix. We're currently working on improving the compatibility of Wix with customizable code.

      As I stated, I tested the code at the link provided and it is correct.  It is not showing up correctly on Wix.  It is for the site 88sredo.

      Here is a screenshot of the code test:

      And here is a screenshot of what it looks like in Wix:

      Hey rocketjnyc

      The CDbaby widget loaded perfectly well for me here in your editor, as you can see:

      While browsing on the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.

      Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.

      Please note that clearing your browser's cache will not resolve all issues.

      We also recommend you to try and use different browsers and see if there is any difference.

      Wix supports all major browsers (including IE, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari), and all of those browsers support the ability to export favorites and bookmarks to the newly installed browser.

    Adding script

    I'll need to add the following script between <head> and <head> of my website. How do i do that?

    <script type="text/javascript">

    function pcToMobile(url) {
        var cookie_key = "change_switch";
        var cookie_value = false;

        var get_cookies = document.cookie;
        var cookies = get_cookies.split(";");
        for(var loopn=0; loopn < cookies.length; loopn++) {
            var items = cookies[loopn].split("=");
            if(trim(items[0]) == cookie_key) {
                cookie_value = trim(unescape(items[1]));

        if(getHttpParam("page_type").toUpperCase() == 'PC' && !cookie_value) {
            var date = new Date();
            document.cookie=cookie_key + '=' + escape(cookie_value) + ';expires=' + date.toGMTString();
        } else if(document.referrer.substring(0, url.length)!=url && !cookie_value) {
            var mobileKeyWords = new Array('iPhone', 'iPod', 'BlackBerry', 'Android', 'Windows CE', 'LG', 'MOT', 'SAMSUNG', 'SonyEricsson', 'Symbian', 'nokia', 'webos', 'opera mini', 'opera mobi', 'iemobile');
            for (var word in mobileKeyWords){
                if (navigator.userAgent.match(mobileKeyWords[word]) != null){
                    location.replace (url);

    function getHttpParam(name) {
        var regexS = "[\\?&]" + name + "=([^&#]*)";
        var regex = new RegExp(regexS);

      Unfortunately, it is not possible to add an external code to the < head> tag of your Wix site.

      Currently, it is possible to add an external code only to the < body> tag as an iframe.

      With the HTML App you can test and add your own HTML code to your Wix site.

      For more information check out the tutorial below, or you can click here.

    Web to lead form

    I am having issues with WIX's control over HTML and putting it in a iFrame. The standard contact form will not suffice as all it does it send an email. I use salesforce and need to integrate their Web to Lead form to my WIX site, issue is that once the form is submitted it redirects to a submitted URL which i always have as the home page. So once the form is submitted there is a smaller version of the site in the HTML frame instead of redirecting the whole site to the home page. Thoughts?

      Unfortunately we are not able to help you.

      Keep in mind that by adding external HTML code you are adding products and code that we have not tested or created in Wix, therefore our support team cannot answer any questions concerning the HTML iFrame/Embed App.

      We recommend testing your code externally. You can do this using sites such as the following:

    Soundcloud embed code deemed invalid

    I am trying to embed a Soundcloud audio. I clicked on the window, got the embed code from the SC website, but after copying it into the editor it tells me it's invalid. What's wrong? I just copied and pasted, no mistakes have been made...

    Thanks, Dominika

    Hello Wix,

    I installed Ecwid online shop from the Wix apps and I in order to customize some checkout labels I need to append some Javascript to my Wix source code.

    How can I do this?

    • Tali Wix Team

      Replied by Tali January 25, 2014

      I'm afraid it's not possible to edit the source code of your Wix site or any application from the App Market.

      The only way to add external code is by using the HTML app and adding your own code.

      If you're missing some features in the Ecwid app, you are more than welcome to contact them directly with this email- support@ecwid.com and request that they implement this feature.

      Please let us know should you require any further assistance.

      Please, note that i am NOT using any code that I TEST using the link you supplied. I am using strictly and ONLY the tools provided in the site builder toolbox.

      I had this problem last month and it was repaired after I asked for help with it. Are you positive that the support policy has changed and wix will not help me get the embedded URLs up and running this time? Please, do respond. Thank you!

    Anyone else getting more and more irritated by the lack of HTML functionality? every time i turn around to make my site more efficient, appealing, etc., i run into the standard answer..."Unfortunately no, that is not possible..." it seems like nothing is possible with wix. can i get my money back from the year i've purchased to find a provider that actually has useful features available?

      Please note that the downside of using an editing tool such as the Wix Editor is not having complete control over your site's source code - to ensure the site created is still valid.

      We apologize for the way you feel - we constantly work towards improving our product and providing users with additional features - can you please describe what exactly you wish to have in your Wix site, so we could better understand the issue and provide you with a more accurate response?

      Also note - refunds are available only if cancelling your Premium subscription in the first 14 days after purchasing the upgrade.

      Let us know if you need any additional help - we'll be happy to further assist!

      well, i guess i'll start looking for an editor that provides better tools and resources then, because the amount of "control" with wix is more like limited control, and even that is giving you too much credit for what you actually provide. as for the refund, i guess when the time comes i'll just have to let my bank handle the complaint.

      Beware to all that are interested in wix...if you think you can do something based on what they tell you in their brief descriptions...dig deeper, the truth of it is their tools are extremely limited and have very little likelihood to actually control anything outside of where you put a text box/image and what color it is.

      Unfortunately not, it's possible to embed Javascript code within the HTML app. However, that your code will only function within the constraints of the HTML app frame.

      You can find all the information about our HTML app here.

      You can post questions about the HTML app here.

      Please note: Wix offers support directly related to our product. By adding external code you are adding products/code that we have not created or tested.

      Therefore, our Support team cannot answer any questions concerning Javascript or HTML.
