If your Wix domain is not set to renew automatically, you can renew it before it expires from your Billing & Payment section. 

 

To renew a domain: Sign in to your Wix account > at the top right of the page, hover over the user panel > click Billing & Payments.

Under Domain Subscriptions, click Manage next to the relevant domain > next to Expiry Date, click Extend.

Note: It is not possible to use a free domain voucher to renew a domain. The use of free domain vouchers is limited to the purchase of new domains only.

    Hi I upgraded my payment for my account that had expired on June 9th, but I can't seem to renew my domain name and I can't find any information that is helping me! My domain was sarahshootspeople.com.

      Hi,

       

      Please note that your domain name sarahshootspeople.com is currently in a "redemption period."

       

      During this period, all WHOIS information is erased. It usually takes about 30-35 days for the domain name to be released after it is deleted for nonpayment.

       

      Please be aware that you are able to reactivate and renew the domain registration, through the payment of an additional fee. The cost of reactivation during this period is $250.

       

      Alternatively, you can wait until the domain name is released, and available to the general public (please note the risk that someone else could secure the domain name).

    Hello,

    I reactiveated my domain kenyapolicyinstitute.com yesterday, and I was charged, and everything on my Wix account indicates that my site is connected to the domain, (everything from check connection to check domain and in between), yet the domain redirects to a page saying "Hey. This domain used to be connected to a Wix site."

    I need to have this issue resolved as soon as possible - I thought I'd wait a day in case some systems needed to refresh but to no avail.It is of utmost importance to me that this gets back online as soon as it can.

      Hi,

       

      The domain was renewed correctly and is now active and properly connected. In cases like this you always have to give 72 hours of time for the connection to be active again.

       

      It could also be that the error remained in the cache of the browser, try cleaning it, read here.

    I believe my client's domain has been cancelled. She had her website and domain thru Wix. I can get into her account but have no clue how to get her site back up. It appears her account has expired. I called and got a code from y'all to call me and no one called. Can you please tell me how to update her payment info and get the site back up? Thanks

    I just switched to wix about a month and a half ago. I switched from vistaprint and paid them to release my domain so that I couldhave control of my domain. I was told my a wix support personnel that if I just let my domain expire, it would be easier to renew it than trying to transfer it, in the meantime I could just re-direct my domain. We did that and it worked. However, my domain expired on 5/16/14 like they said to do, and now im not sure how to renew it since it wasn't originally purchased from wix. Could someone please help me?

      Unfortunately, since your domain was transferred away from Wix, you will need to contact your current domain hosting company regarding this matter.

      I tried contacting them, and they said they don't help people that purchased their domains back from the third party (vistaprint). Should I just let the grace period expire then wait until its available with godaddy.com and purchase it there and then i can have it point to wix?

      Hi,

      You will need to contact vistaprint to renew your domain name and keep it in your ownership.

      The advice given to you previously was not correct. If you let your domain expire you will need to wait approximately 70 days before you can repurchase with another company. Please contact vistaprint to renew your domain as soon as possible.

      To keep you domain it is better to renew with vistaprint (pointed to Wix, or connected through Wixs; nameservers), and then either keep the domain registration there, or transfer to Wix.

    My domain expired on April 8th. 

    I need to renew it. I know about the redemption period of about 30/35 days but what I don't understand is if this period starts from April 8th or when?

      Hi,

      Your domain isn't in redemption period yet, it is in a grace period before it goes into redemption, this grace period is for 35 days, so it is crucial that you update your payment details, let us know as soon as you did so that we can take the payment and ensure it doesn't go to redemption. (It will then cost 250$ more to renew, or you'll have -to wait until redemption ends and the domain is released which is ~40 days. )

      If you still experiencing difficulties to load the site, please follow the instructions below:

      1. Open your browser to a blank page. Close any Wix pages that are open.
      2. Clear your browser's cache and cookies of "Everything". You can find step-by-step instructions here.
      3. Restart your browser and then log into your Wix account and try again.

    Hi, my domain expired yesterday. I really need to renew it. I've read through all the fourums and everything and I still can't get it renewed. I called in and waited on hold for 30mins. I don't know what else to do at this point.
