Once you have purchased a domain, you will not be able to edit, cancel or delete it. If you decide that you no longer wish to keep the domain that you purchased, you can change the auto renewal settings so that you will not be charged again after the subscription expires.

To turn off the auto renewal: Sign in to your Wix account > from the top right of the page, hover over the user panel > click Billing & Payment.

Under Domain Subscriptions, next to the relevant domain, click Manage > next to Next Payment, click Cancel payments > select No, I will renew the domain manually > click Save.

Hi! I really need to delete a domain, that has been registered through wix.com. How is it possible to do? There must be any way for that? Or even after disconnecting websites - it is not enough for me, that there is a "wix advert" info.

    Please help.

      Hi,

To delete or replace a domain name within your Wix account:

      1) Please go into the Wix Domain Manager (My Account > Manage Premium > Domains)

      2) Remove the domain by clicking the red X

      3) Then add the new domain by clicking 'Already have a domain?' and follow the instructions to connect the new domain by DNS (name servers)

*Only domains that were not purchased from Wix.com can be deleted or replaced.

      Best, Ritti

      Dear Ritti,

I already did that. But i do not want to have new domain address. I just want that domain to be inactive. So after i delete the DNS Records, there is the message that i want. But after a few minutes, the wix's "you're almost done" site is coming up again - with the previous IP address, I deleted.

      Thankyou,

      George

      Dear George,

Please send us the domain name you are referring to.

Also, just to be on the safe side, do you receive the message:  "you're almost done" when you type the domain name at the browser address bar or when you want to open your Wix site?

      Thank you,

      Dina.

Please note that this waiting period is the same for all websites (not just in Wix).

I was charged for renewing my domain name recently. I assumed when I canceled my website last year in 12-25-12 I was canceling everything including my domain. Is there a way I can get a refund for this, since I have not used the site for the past year?

      Hey  graffnight,

Wix send notification e-mails to the users two weeks before expiration of the yearly package in order for them to decide if they want to continue the use of the premium or to cancel it.

If they cancel on time they are not charged.

I understand that somehow you missed this e-mail.

To cancel your Wix upgrade, please follow the directions here.
When you have cancelled, please contact us and we can issue the refund/void the invoice.

We are sorry to hear you have decided to cancel your Wix Premium upgrade package.  We hope you re-consider your decision and should you require any further assistance please don’t hesitate to contact us.

      4. In the Transfer window, click Send.

      5. An email with a code will be sent to you. Forward this code to your new domain registrar.
You may not receive the email immediately, but you can expect to receive it on the same day.

Sadly I just purchased a domain here. I hate all the hidden prices that keeps popping up. You think you found the final prices but you didn't. And in most companies you get a refund or a 14 day trial period. I don't like the wix tricks you make for people to be forced into buying more. The final price end up being the double of what you expected cause new things appears. And I hate when companies are not clear about prices being without VAT. I'm so mad at myself for buying a domain here cause I just realized what a company with policies this is. What a waste of money.

Hi, my domain www.wheyn.com has recently expired and I believe it is still under the 'grace period' as I am not able to purchase it from other registrars.

Will there be any implications if I were to transfer this domain to another registrar now?

    • Eyal Wix Team

Replied by Eyal October 31, 2013

      Hey szexinwong,

Unfortunately, to be able to transfer a domain when it has reached grace period, you will need to reregister the domain with Wix. Only after that you will be able to transfer your domain to your new registrar. Please note though, that you will be charged for reregistration of your domain.

Your other option is to wait until your current domain registration expires, and then re-register the domain with your new registrar. Please bear in mind that in doing so, you risk the availability of the domain.

If you have any other questions, please let us know!
      Thank you,
