This is the strangest thing ever. My website doesn't come up on my laptop but does on my desktop...how is that possible?  http://www.do-the-write-thing.com. Here's where I land when I'm on my laptop.

The spelling is correct. The search by Time Warner drops dashes, spells stuff wrong. Every time I try to find my site, I get:   http://www.dnsrsearch.com/index_results.php?querybox=www.do-the-write-thing.com+&submit=Search&clear=1&qs=06oENya4ZGM2oQsA2qVEsHaU3KcT4kJ5Bwo-AdsjrCo4nQ9cZCK-IOFZ4iFCuj_Izkx43H1YvfOHn1Ku4ytiqQPlt0CLHxI7z-KO90-mEJVn0dmo-C1iFRMRLzetLLDTRp8bskeZIg6DspL4cGXrNj6P8aZQvUtOLZtHvB6yeCoIQwd-Dw7g51xLHsDDSE7b-wjuvIutPbLPvOxax1c_KmdNituuf0TSEUnAPLyRnLYd3Fea-BqQSqbpHxqx191Za0VNCZawwdxUHXl1qh1KRzytpPq6YgbOGq9Bpm9yytDpaAoWvUCE8YRjb1giT4yAnU86m-_bYbEdPk7T5OuHzIyd3Ah0c2JU4ztsDFtT_SLe40xnEkCsQb6Fke9y9aZDAaPJSHyqYE6HbktTHSyAf6y74hLci0SOisEVwsceJThJU7yOmC6MNO9FAPWcUz2jqq51aXUucVwGncF_pAJNo.%2CYT0zO2s9MzA7aD05MWVkZTVmYjIxY2UyY2Rl

      Hi,

Thank you for contacting Wix Support regarding this matter.

      That's a great domain name!

While browsing the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.

Please clear your laptop browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.

If clearing the browser's cache does not resolve the issue, please try following the steps found in How do I flush my DNS?

Please let us know if the issue persists, or should you require any further assistance.

Have a great day! Nitzan - Wix Support Team

I did a global DNS Propagation Check and it says this  216.185.153.244. And there's lots of red xs. And I cannot figure out what to do to change it. The CNAME is correct. The problem seems to be the A.

      Hi,

      Thanks  for contacting Wix Support.

I have performed a speed test on your site

Speed issues can be related to the test server itself, it's GEO location and more parameters such as ISP, traffic congestion etc.

As you can see from the results, your site took 7.102s fully load (which is great!), making 98requests and downloading 1.504 KB of content.

I recommend trying to optimize your site. (If you wish to experiment with it, you can have your site duplicated.)

My suggestions are to try to add a landing page to your Wix siteOptimizing your images, and reduce the amount of content at your homepage (add more pages as necessary to complete your visitors experience with your website).

      All best,

      Rony WixTeam

      Hi,

Can't you guys assist me with decreasing the time to 2 to 3 sec because 7sec is a lot.

      Hi,

Unfortunately, reaching a speed of 2-3 seconds is not on our possibilities to provide. As i told you, it depends on the visitor location, ISP, traffic, etc.

7 seconds is a great speed for a neutral web page performance.

Let us know if you require further assistance.

      All best

I have actively used our site for a couple of months now and it has worked perfectly. Today it is very sporadic and in most cases I can't access it. This came out of nowhere. Any ideas?

My site loads only about once in every 10 tries on my computer, seems alright on other peoples but i haven't checked that many.

I don't understand why my site address could be confused with another one as has been suggested, isn't this why i bought a domain name that was checked for originality?

I really have no idea what i'm meant to be doing when i get redirected to the DNS checking site.

    Site Access Problems

    Hello! :)

We've received dozens upon dozens of complaints that on occasion (or all the time) people either cannot access our website at all (white screen that never loads) or that when they use our tabs it always reroutes them to the homepage. For others it works perfect. For some its only problematic at random. These are all people with a variety of browsers, connections and PCs/Laptops. I havent been able to find any common themes between them.

Our premium account will be up for renewal soon and quite honestly this problem has been a severe annoyance that may cause us to renew our subscription. If you have any insight on the matter we're mor ethan happy to cooperate. Thank you :)

      Hi Jordan,

I checked your site and your DNS settings are okay.

I've run your site through a third party speed test and here are the results.

As you can see the results are not indicating unusual loading times, so it's possible that the issue is local on your end.

Please note that there are several possible solutions you can use in order to speed up your site.

This included optimizing your images and content, spreading out your site content to reduce page content load times.

Another action you can do to improve your site initial speed, is creating a lightweight landing page.

I also noticed that you are using Safari 537 which is an outdated version and can cause issues. Please update your browser and try again.

To download the latest Safari browser for Mac please click here.

Im not having much luck.  Other people reporting issues.  What is the exact issue that needs to be corrected?

    • Barrios Wix Team

Replied by Barrios August 5, 2014

      Hi,

There are two main factors that affect the loading time:

      1. The size of your website

      2. The Internet connection that you have through your ISP

Since we cannot do anything to help your site regarding factor 2, your main goal should

      be optimizing your site's size.

Heavy content such as galleries, video's, HTML coding etc. will cause longer load times.

To ensure that you maintain the quality of your photos and decrease loading time to a minimum, please follow the guidelines  here .

Also please note that each page in your site is loaded separately so that if you have large amounts of media in your site it is recommended to spread it on different pages and not all on one page.

We are here should you require further assistance.

      Many thanks, Barrios

      Hi,

What is the problem you are encountering?

If you would like to connect your domain you can simply contact your domain host and ask them to point your domain to Wix's name servers.

When connecting your domain to Wix's name servers there are two important steps that you must complete.

      1. Make sure that you have added the domain in your Wix account.
For more information, please click here.

      2. Contact your domain host and ask them to connect your domain to Wix's the name servers (ns1.wix.com & ns2.wix.com).

Both of these steps are essential and the omission of either will result in a domain that is not properly connected.

You can also contact us by phone in one of the following ways:

      1) Click this link to select a time to speak to an agent based on our availability and call volume.
In order to meet the needs of our rapidly growing Wix community and to continue to deliver the personal and professional service you've come to expect from us, we now offer a scheduled call back service. Scheduling a call with a Wix Product Specialist also allows you to ask your question in advance so that we can come prepared. Call slots on the scheduler will be shown in your local time, based on the clock of the computer you are using to schedule the call.

      2)  Call 1-800-6000-WIX (949) to speak to a live agent (or 415-639-9034 for non-US callers). Our call center is open from 6am to 5pm Pacific Standard Time. Entry of your user ID on our phone system will help us to process your call better.  Please note that wait times may be longer on non-scheduled calls.

VIP users: Please be sure to enter your user ID when calling directly. This will allow us to direct your call to our VIP team.

Let us know if you need additional assistance.

All the best, Dean - Wix Team
