Wix HTML5 websites are optimized to display properly for the most common browsers and devices used today. However, it's important to note that the various browsers and devices use different rendering engines, and therefore may display minor differences in your website.

Sometimes these minor differences can have a domino effect- for example, a 1% difference in rendering of a font size, can cause a line with only 20 characters to appear 1/5th of a character wider. If your text box doesn't have any extra room for the text, this may cause the last word to wrap to the next line, which will make your text box longer and will 'push' the rest of the components under the page down (By the way, if you experience this issue, it's really easy to solve- you just need to make the text box a little bit wider in your editor to allow for extra space so that the text will still fit, even when it's rendered wider).

The web standard is still evolving, and it's important to keep up with the newest technologies and standards. That's why Wix is at the forefront of HTML5 website development.
We are doing our best to minimize the effects caused by the aforementioned factors, while continuing to provide you with the flexibility to create the most amazing website on the web.

For the time being, however, there is a work around that should help to reduce some of the alignment issues you may be experiencing. By placing misaligned content within a ‘container’, you are securing several different items within a single shape. Items within a ‘container’ are locked into position and so will not appear to move on their own accord and/or knock other items out of alignment.

Use a Box that is set to appear as transparent (by moving the opacity down to 0) as your ‘container’. Place all of the various components within this Box so that they are ‘attached’ to it. Once within their container, these items are essentially grouped together and will not fall out of alignment.

I am having a similar issue with my browser as others, however the 'most recommended solution' is not working for me.  When I edit in IE, publish then open in IE, it's fine.  When I open in Chrome, it's off.  When I edit in Chrome, publish then open in Chrome, it's fine but not when I open in IE.

      Hi,

      Thank you for contacting us.

Please note that you have entered the text in two separate text boxes: one for the titles and the other for the content.

In order to solve the problem please try adding both the titles and the content to a single text box. Simply copy the text and paste it into the title's text box.

If after doing so the problem persists, please let us know.

      Itamar, Wix team

    Content shifts when editor opens

After re-centering content, then saving pages, I go to a different page and the content has shifted left or right again.  When I open the editor after saving, the pages are off center again.

      Hello,

Please note that the page in the second screenshot looks the same in the editor:

Please re-arange the gallery and the text, just like you succeeded to do on "Magazine Features" page.

Please tell us if you have any troubles with the design after arranging the items.

    align text and pictures

Having trouble aligning text and pictures. I've aligned the picture and the text frame. In the editor everything looks fine, but online there is an offset  between the picture and the text box.

Layout changes with different browsers :(

Designed and got everything looking the way I like in Chrome, but when I view my site in Firefox, buttons and text boxes overlay each other! I fear to look to see how it looks in IE and Safari :(

Can someone help me with this?:

site looks different in different browsers

I have the same problem with firefox only. I tested my site with other browsers: chrome and IE and everything is OK. However when I try the website with firefox I have the problem described in the first post: when I first load my site (exact address http://gfirmani.wix.com/annaasanpietro) the menu is stretched a bit longer than I have designed. I checked the grid lines and the boxes I created and it is all good.

However I discovered that if I change the font of the menu using the default one (Open Sans) or I remove the option to stretch the menu buttons I do not have this problem with firefox.

Did anybody manage to solve this problem?

    thanks

    gio

      Hi Nicolai,

thank you for your reply. The solution (best reply) above does not work for me. By the way I did create a box where I attached the menu, but I still have the same problem.

The only way I found to solve it, was to change the font with the default one (open sans) any other font will have the problem I described when using firefox.
