Search engines initially read your page meta data (Title and Description), and then your text. Therefore, it is very important to have original, relevant, and good-quality content.

The Wix SEO Monitoring Tool gives you an indication of your website’s text quantity, and will suggest adding text if you have less than the required 250 words on your homepage.

The SEO wizard is advising, "The page "2013-gallery-archive" have more than 1250 words. It is advised to reduce the amount of text or divide the text onto 2 different pages.". I don't think there's 100 words on this page, it's all picture galleries. Can anyone 1) advise where the 1250 count is coming from and 2) suggest what should be done to rectify the issue.

      Hi there,

Please note each image on your '2013-gallery-archive' contains copyright information of it's own, this amount of text overall is very large and is the cause for this message in the SEO Monitoring Tool.

To solve this issue, you can split this page into 2 different pages (with a gallery on each page).

I hope this was helpful, please don't hesitate to contact us should you require any further assistance.

    Hi Wix,

Up till now my SEO still not taking effect on the word "fruit delivery" on www.genkifruitbox.com, even though wix SEO report showing sufficient search phrases. I understand that Google would need to wait 1-3 months to update. However, I am just curious as I have noticed the previous amended Page Title already taken effect on google search, but just not the search phrases. Is there any steps that I have missed out?

As well, I wish to create the dropdown list for my menu, I have drag it to the right to create the subpage as per video demo, but the dropdown list is not taking effect, instead it appears as a new page itself under the menu bar. Possible to advice?

      Hi sushantphotography,

Please note that every change you make in SEO will take time to update. You still need to wait anywhere from 1 – 3 months for Search Engines to crawl and index your website. This is normal and should be expected.
Once the website is indexed, this is no guarantee that Google, or other Search Engines, will decide to rank you very highly within the search results. You PageRank depend on many of the factors discussed within our previous pages. Achieving a good PageRank can be a long and slow-moving process, but the Wix team will continue to try to offer you the best SEO advice possible.

Please follow this link to our Learning Center which provides you with more information regarding SEO.

I believe you see in your description this strange text "Καλλ&iota....". Sometimes this code is used to store Greek letters and all browsers and search engines translate it back to Greek. The SEO wizard work like search engine bot and you can see that it translate the description back to proper Greek.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

I'm not sure what you mean when your refer to the "SEO box".

Search engines check text quantity to determine if the page can be considered as reliable content, for example, page with 10 words are not likely to have any meaningful content while pages with 10,000 words are something that no real person can read so it may be tagged as spam.
As long as you build your pages with a reasonable amount of content for the humans visitors, you are fine.

Don't write your text especially for search engines, write it for your site's visitors. While writing, try to use some of the common words users are looking for in search engines but do it in a natural way, e.g. if you are a wedding photographer and you use the phrase "wedding photographer" 40 times on your home page then search engines may tag your page as spam.

I see your first reports showed 3185 total words in the site and on later reports the number of words was 3205.

    Can you check it again?

Here is a test you can make to verify that your seo version is updated correctly:

    1. Add a word to one of your site pages, e.g. ZZZZ

    2. Publish the site.

    3. Run SEO report for the word ZZZZ.

If the seo wizard finds the word then the seo version is updated correctly. You should also see the word count increased by 1.

Let us know how it goes and if the problem still exists.
