With Google Analytics you can track information including the number of visitors and page views, where visitors come from, how long they stay, what keywords they are using to find your site, and more.

To use Google Analytics, you will need to upgrade your account to a premium plan that allows you to connect a domain. To view our available plans, click here.

To retrieve your Google Analytics ID you will need to sign in to your Google Analytics account and copy the code that looks like this UA-1111111-1.

To add the Google Analytics code: Sign in to your Wix account > from the top menu, hover over Subscriptions > click Domains > next to the relevant domain, click Manage > next to Google Analytics, click Add > enter the Tracking ID > click Save.

You will start getting data on your Wix site within a week. If you have trouble using Google Analytics, please go through the checklist in this FAQ.

Please note that adding a tracking code in order to use Universal Analytics and In-Page Analytics currently isn't possible.

    Ok so my analytics code is not working properly with my wix site. I keep running into this issue of it not reading data for over 4 weeks now. My webmaster tools is showing data and Google Analytics is always more indepth with high visitors and details and yet it is showing little to nothing. I have tried to post the code various ways and It's still not working. I had <meta name="google-site-verification" content="UA-52889919-1" /> for over 2 weeks and data is very limited when I try to enter the following code;

    <script>
      (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
      (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
      m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
      })(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

      ga('create', 'UA-52889919-1', 'auto');
      ga('send', 'pageview');

    </script>

    It won't let me enter it saying there is an error code. I know the first way is the way Wix would like it formatted and yet I'm still not getting the proper information. Please help Wix Support, Thanks!

    Best Regards

    Hi,

    I can't locate the google analytics code because currently we have set up a redirect to rockstart.com/ballroom via an iframe for our wix landing page. The reason we did that is that the rockstart.com site is built on wordpress, so we couldn't work out how to have the URL we wanted so had to use this work around. Now we want to hook up google analytics, but its not possible because of this setup, can you please help asap?

      Hi,

      It is not possible to export files, pages or sites, created using the Wix Editor, to another external destination or host. Wix hosts all of your Wix creations on our servers.

      The advantages of using Wix as your host includes improvements to your site's loading time, search engine optimization and more.

      Note: Wix hosts all of a site's content (images/MP3/files), however, Wix does not host external domains. If you would like to connect your Wix site to an external domain, please follow the instructions provided here.

      Best, Ritti

      Hi,

      Unfortunately, as mentioned before it is not possible to transfer your Wix site to external host.

      Wix sites are hosted only on our servers.

    Hello,

    I have a conversion code that I must add to a "thank you" page.

    The problem is that my site doesn't have nor does it need a "shopping cart" and all your reference material points to "how to add a thank you page for a online store".

    I need to track conversion on a contact form but all the forms contact provided by WIX generates a "thank you" message within the form.

    How do I add a thank you page for a contact form so that I can add the conversion code properly?

    Please advise,

    JC

    I added Google Analytics to my wix website 5 days ago, but it seems that Google Analytics  is not working properly. It shows only 7 people clicked in my website on August 01st, while in another statistics rate website I'm using it shows more than 50 users.

    The URL link I'm using is the wix URL instead of my domain, because my domain is only redirecting to my Wix website, I wonder if I was supposed to use the Wix URL or my domain in order to the Google Analytics works better?

      The problem if any, is I am showing almost a 100 percent bounce rate on Google Analytics so I was just wanted a way to verify that I am set up correctly still. Could you check my account to ensure that my code is inserted correctly to my pages on my web site at julitapken.com?

      Replied by Or July 26, 2014

      Hi there,

      Your Google Analytics code seems to be inserted correctly for your domain.

      The bounce rate represents the percentage of people who enter your site and leave after viewing only one page.

      Every website has a certain bounce rate which reflects the effectiveness of your homepage in leading visitors further into your site as well as the sources of your traffic and their relevancy etc.

      Please know that a high bounce rate does not mean that people are not accessing your site.

      If you find that you have a high bounce rate, we suggest that you examine factors such as the keywords being used to access your site, the navigation's usability and legibility etc.

      You can learn more about your site's bounce rate in our Wix blog post: Using Google Analytics for Your Wix Website.

      Kind regards, Or - Wix Support Team.

    Hello Wix team,  I already have the google analytics installed on my wix website. howeer I would like to implement display advertising features for google universal analytics but I am unable to do so because I do not have access to the HTML of the website.

    To implement Display Advertising features for Universal Analytics, insert the bold line into your existing tracking code between the 'create' and 'send' commands, as seen in this example:

    <script>
    (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
    (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
    m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
    })(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');
    ga('create', 'UA-XXXXXX-XX', 'example.com');
    ga('require', 'displayfeatures');
    ga('send', 'pageview');
    </script>

      Hi alexlemoin9,

      Thank you for contacting Wix support!

      You can try to add the code using the HTML app. For more information click here

      Please keep in mind that by adding external HTML code you are adding products and code that we have not tested or created in Wix, therefore we cannot answer any questions concerning the HTML iFrame/Embed App.

      If the HTML app isn't working, it may be a problem with the code. You can check if the code is correct by using this site.

      Please don't hesitate to contact us for any further assistance.

      Gat Wix Team.
