To update Site Meta Tags: From the left side of the Editor, click the Settings icon > click SEO (Google) > fill in your Meta Tags under Site Title, Site Description and Keywords > click Done.

Note: Make sure that the Allow search engines to find my site option is switched on (green).

To update Page Meta Tags: From the left side of the Editor, click the Pages icon > next to the relevant page, click the Settings wheel > in the Settings and SEO window, fill in your Meta Tags under Page Title, Page Description and Keywords > click Done.

I'm having an issue with my meta tags for my website Tailor and Cleaners Inc.I have recently updated my setting and seo for my website.Lets look at my home page.I updated it to this information:

This is the title: Tailor and Dry Cleaners Inc

This is the description: Tailor and Dry Cleaners Inc provides dry cleaning, alteration and repairs, and shirts laundry services in Yonkers,NY

These are the keywords: dry cleaner, tailor, alterations and repairs, shirts laundered, Yonkers,NY, Getty Square,South Yonkers

When I go to the actual website and look at the actual code by hitting control +u, I see this:

    <title>tailor-and-cleaners-</title>

<meta name="keywords" content="10701, New York, Yonkers, alterations and repairs, dry cleaner, dry cleaning, laundry, tailoring"/>
    <meta name="description" content="providing dry cleaning, alterations and repair services in Yonkers,NY 10701"/>

Why is it they don't match.I saved the new changes an d published the site.In addition each page on the website has it's own Title, description and keywords using settings and seo but is not reflected when I look at the websites code by pressing ctrl+u instead each page is displaying the same tile, description and keywords which is below:

    <title>tailor-and-cleaners-</title>
<meta name="keywords" content="10701, New York, Yonkers, alterations and repairs, dry cleaner, dry cleaning, laundry, tailoring"/>
    <meta name="description" content="providing dry cleaning, alterations and repair services in Yonkers,NY 10701"/>

Any assistance will be necessary. It seems that it's displaying my old title, description, and keywords.I can't seem to update it .When I look at my actual information on settings and seo it looks fine, but when I look at the actual code it doesn't match.I'm very frustrated.

Please note that you are not accessing your source code properly.

We are using Ajax Crawling as a way for the search engines to read your websites code. With Ajax Crawling, your content, data and design are merged together and extracted far easier and quicker by search engines.

Using Ajax Crawling however means that accessing your source code is a little different.
If you access the source code the usual way (right clicking and view source), you will not see your websites content but rather a code, <meta name="fragment" content="!">, to tell search engines that we are using Ajax Crawling.

If you wish to view your website source code, use the below examples of where to place '?_escaped_fragment_=' within your domain name in order to access the escaped fragment version of your website. Once you are viewing the escaped fragment version of your website, you may right click and select 'View Source Code' in order to access your websites source code.

      Example site - www.wixexample.com
      1. Home Page - place ?_escaped_fragment_= at the end of your URL
      www.wixexample.com/?_escaped_fragment_=

      Example site - www.wixexample.com#!AboutUs/c2414
      2. Individual pages - ?_escaped_fragment_= in place of the #!
      www.wixexample.com/?_escaped_fragment_=AboutUs/c2414

We can assure you that your individual pages are seen by Google.

    Hi there

We have followed all the guidelines with regards to adding meta tags to the website.  We are now trying to view them in the page source to confirm that they have been imbedded correctly, but the page source still has the following message:

IMPORTANT! LOOKING FOR THIS SITE’S SEO CONTENT?
This site's SEO content, such as meta tags and headers, is not here.
This is because search engines, like Google, actually crawl the site's homepage via http://www.montagehealthandbeauty.com/?_escaped_fragment_=.
Internal pages, like “Artistry Skin Care & Makeup”, also have their own special search engine versions, for example: http://www.montagehealthandbeauty.com/?_escaped_fragment_=artistry%2Fcyjf
If you’re looking for this site’s SEO content, that’s where you can view it.
Want more information about Ajax page crawling? Read Google's explanation here: http://bit.ly/ajaxcrawling

Have the meta tags been added correctly and where are we able to view them - many thanks.

On meta tags, I can only add some many key words. I was on another website host and I was able to install all the keywords I wished. Is there a way you can allow me to install more key words

      Hey moviecarshire

Please note that the keyword meta tag is not considered by Google or other search engines. It should be used primarily as an organizational tool, so you can decide on keywords for your site. The keywords that search engines consider are those that are placed in your site content.

Please be sure to achieve the recommended keyword density for the keywords you choose.

With the Wix SEO Monitoring Tool you will receive a step-by-step guide to improve your site's SEO.

In addition, you can also target what your customers are searching for and it will help your site to get found on Google.

You can also enhance the process by submitting your site directly to Google. Simply go here and follow the simple steps. These steps should help your site be indexed much faster.

Im finding all this a bit complicated. I want my site hosted and  to show up on all the search engines, but it is so hard setting this up on the wix site.  I was with another site and I didnt have to do all this work. I built the site and presto every search word I inputed on meta tags would show up right to my website. I want the customer drawn  right to my site. Is there a way you can do this for me. And make this simple and easy.  All I had to do was input every keyword that people would type in search and presto the website came up .  This is what I want. To type up a 1000 keywords to draw the customer to my webpage. It was so easy with my other website webpiston.  I used them for 9 years.  I have not received the free vouchers yet after I joined premium and it is so hard to get ahold of some one to call and ask help or advice from.  I have not got a phone number on how to call you, I get these ticket numbers and email replies but I ask for phone calls.  And you guys never call me back. So yes its a bit frustrating trying to build up a new website and so much harder than the one I built 9 years ago.  I hope you see where Im coming from.

      Hi,

I'm sure this all looks very confusing - however, things changed in the recent years - while setting up the "keywords" in what we call a meta tag and automatically spamming them in the title and description used to work (which means it had little to do with the content and could've been done by the hosting side automatically), it no longer does, and google actually penalizes sites that are using this strategy nowadays.

If there was a magical 1-2-3 to getting your page ranked in the top pages of google for any keyword (say, "dogs", for example - which gets a few million searches per day) - I agree it would make our life easier indeed (and add quite a few zeros to my bank account balance, for sure!) However, the more competition (other sites) you have gunning for the same keyword, the more work needed to put in, in order to make google understand that your site is the most relevant site for the visitors.

As internet sites are more common and easier to build, there is more competition, google becomes more sophisticated and so must the webmasters in order to keep up. Luckily, we have a few tools that will make this relatively easier for you, and some great advice that you get for free.

Wix phone support can be scheduled by clicking here. Please be sure you are logged in to your Wix account and be prepared to provide us with some details of your issue. We're undergoing some structural changes in order to improve voice and online support integration  which might cause some inconvenience, and I sincerely apologize.

In google there is a webmasters tool, to verify a website you either need to edit the <header> or upload a file. Is there possibilities this can be done or is it automatically generated through the SEO from wix?

    Hey nicevillemom

Unfortunately it isn't possible to verify your domain with Pinterest at the moment, as they only offer
verification via  HTML file upload and HTML meta tags which aren't supported by Wix.
Currently we can only support verification by DNS records, but we do hope to allow other options of verification in the future.

Feel free to add your vote for this feature by following this thread.

    Hi crossfitamerica,

I am unsure as to what you mean by ten meta tags.

Which specific meta tag are you referring to (site title, description, keywords) ?

The more information you provide, the better we can assist you.

    Thanks,
