Replied by janemckenna1 July 14, 2014changing text into a heading so it can be tagged for SEO
Having gone through the SEO wizard it's clear I need to have tagged headings on my home page to optimise SEO on Google. The help instructions, though, only show you how to set up new headings. How do you change key text on your homepage from 'text' to 'heading' style and how do you then tag it? Thanks.

I have been told by Wix that I cannot add Meta language code to my Wix site and to add that to their Wish List. Here is a work around for this problem. If you get the error over at Bing saying you are missing the Meta Language using the Bing SEO Analyzer.
In your Wix Editor, go to the SEO (Google) on left side, then Advanced SEO Settings. After the Meta Name code that you should have already added (you get this code over at the Bing Webmaster Site) hit the return key and add the following code. (The trick is to hit the return key so each line of code is on a separate line.)
<meta http-equiv=”content-language” content=”en-us”>
Then to be redundant, I hit the return key and added this code:
<meta content="en-us" http-equiv="Content-Language" />
Now there should be three lines of code that will be in the Header of your site if you look at the code. (To look at your code type this after your website name in the address bar above "/?_escaped_fragment_" hit return and the right click to look your code.) After I did this, I ran the Wix SEO Analyzer and got a Good report. Thereafter, I had to wait 5 - 10 minutes and then check my website using the Bing SEO Analyzer. The Bing SEO Analyzer apparently needs time to refresh because you'll still get the error code initially. After about 10 minutes, I got rid of the missing Meta Language error using their SEO Analyzer.
Their SEO Analyzer still says I'm missing the H1 code but, that I know that is incorrect. I still don't have an answer to this problem. When they look at the code, they tell me they don't see the H1 using their analyzer even after I have sent them a screenshot of the code from my page showing the HI.
I hope this post helps others who are struggling with this same problem!

I just wrote Microsoft AGAIN. I have gone back and forth between Microsoft Support and Wix Support for three weeks now. Each of you continue to say the same things over and over. Wix doesn't Support Microsoft's SEO Analyzer and uses Ajax crawling .... and Microsoft continues to say I am missing the H1 and Meta codes in my site even through I have shown them a screenshot of my Home page code with the H1 codes in it. When I use their SEO Analyzer I get the same error messages. Why we cannot add the Meta language code to our Wix sites is beyond me when this continues to be a ongoing problem for Wix users. What really baffles me is that I have seen Wix created site on Bing and Yahoo so someone must have figured out a solution to this problem that so many Wix users are having. This is extremely frustrating.

I understand that you cannot recommend any external SEO tools and you cannot provide support for external SEO tools. However Bing is a large search engine and I think wix should be compatible with it. Clearly something is not working and I think it is likely wix rather than bing.

I still have the same problem since I received a confirmation email that it was fixed. My web page title below does not display gcaaa.com in Google for longer than 6 months.
Governmental Child Abduction And Abuse.
Only the wrong heading (space error between d and b) below still displays my website gcaaa.com.
Governmental Child Abduction AndA Buse.
This is serious since I don't get users visiting my site for this terrible error not fixed for long time. Please help me.

Please note that the text "Hacking is the Future" is currently set as the H1 tag for your Wix site, as displayed in the screenshot you provided.
Please note that we cannot provide support for external SEO tools. Wix sites use Ajax crawling as a way for search engines to read your website’s code. With Ajax Crawling, your content, data and design are merged together and extracted far easier and quicker by search engines. For more information click here.
As Ajax technology is relatively new, some external SEO tools may not be able to read it properly. We cannot recommend any external SEO tools, however, Wix does offer the SEO Monitoring Tool.
I recommend reading more about SEO and your Wix site in our SEO Support Center Pages.
