Hi. I've been trying to get our website verified for days via Bing Webmaster Tools and keep getting the following error message. I have tried adding the meta tag to the advance section of the WIX SEO setting and adding the CNAME to our WIX account but no luck. This is Bing's error message:
HTTP Error: Status Code 404. We did not receive a 200 (OK) response when requesting your page. Please make sure the URL to your authentication file exist and try again.
Canonical Name Records No data available
We did not detect verify.bing.com in the CNAME records for the host.

Please allow website owners (own our own domain name and have it pointed to our WIX website) to upload a verification code/txt to the root directory of our website so BING can verify we are the owner.

Hi, I tried so hard to follow your instructions for google webmaster tools but "alternate methods" don't appear to me so please do it instead of me please, I really don't understand anything about all this gogole things.
It appeared that my milleflowers.net has the following problems according to google please fix them for me as it is a big mess in my head and I am so worried. I have nobody else to ask for help and you know best how to solve them and I see that they are very important:
Your page has 6 blocking script resources and 4 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML.
Optimize CSS Delivery of the following:
Compressing resources with gzip or deflate can reduce the number of bytes sent over the network.
Enable compression for the following resources to reduce their transfer size by 44.7KiB (84% reduction).
Compressing http://static.parastorage.com/services/skins/2.753.6/index.json could save 19KiB (87% reduction).
Compressing http://static.parastorage.com/services/web/2.753.6/index.json could save 13.4KiB (85% reduction).
Compressing http://static.parastorage.com/services/core/2.753.6/index.json could save 6.3KiB (84% reduction).
Compressing http://static.parastorage.com/services/bootstrap/2.753.6/index.json could save 3.3KiB (80% reduction).
Compressing http://static.parastorage.com/…editoruirefactorphase1/1.32.0/index.json could save 2.1KiB (69% reduction).
Compressing http://static.parastorage.com/services/wixapps/2.332.1/index.json could save 628B (69% reduction).

Verify ownership of your site with Bing Webmaster Tools using meta tag authentication. First you will need to create and sign into your Bing Webmaster Tools account. From this account, you will receive a authentication code which can be pasted into the Advanced SEO Settings of your Wix site.
1. To copy your authentication code: Click here and follow the instructions for Option 2: Copy and paste a <meta> tag in your default webpage.
Note: The authentication code that is displayed is a sample code, you will need to sign in to your own Bing Webmaster Tools to receive your own authentication code.
2. To paste the authentication code into your Wix site: From the left side of the Editor, click Settings > click SEO (Google) > click Advanced SEO Settings, paste the code > click Apply.
Note: After pasting the code, you cannot add additional text or codes. If you wish to add multiple codes (eg. for Google and Bing), they must be added together. If you have already added one of the codes, please copy it, delete the current entry, and paste it together with the new code before clicking Apply.
3. To complete the process: In your Bing Webmaster Tools, click Verify.
If Bing Webmaster Tools is able to verify your site, the information will appear immediately. If you receive a red error message, it means that the verification process was not successful. If this is the case, please start the verification process again.

When is Wix going to do something about this, Big Commerce has it, Wix is not very supportive with E-Commerce, we need to verify websites so we can provide links from or youtube videos. Sifting through forums is difficult. If Wix wants to sell E-Commerce. This is a huge must!

This is a repost of a post I did under Google webmaster tools
I've noticed a lot of people are having the same issue I had when I first tried to get Google webmaster running with my site. I now have 5 sites all up and running and, am using Google webmaster tools and Bing webmaster tools successfully on all sites.
I though I would share my process to possible aid you all successfully getting the webmaster tools to work with your sites.
Firstly Google webmaster tools - Enter edit domain and create a new TXT record.
Leave TXT name blank and enter the code from Google including the wording google-site-verification and the long string of letters and digits (see image below). Leave TTL at 1 hour. Click Add.on return to edit domain click save at the bottom.
Return to the Google verification page and try to verify. This sometimes works more or less straight away but can take upto 72 hours.
Now onto Bing - Edit domain again but this time create a CNAME (Aliases) record.
In the Alias name enter the long string of letters and digits. In the points to enter verify.bing.com (be careful if coping and pasting to not include the full stop). See Above.
Leave TTL as 1 hour, Click add to return to the edit domain screen then click save.
Return to the Bing verification page and try to verify. This sometimes works more or less straight away but can take upto 72 hours.
These will only work if your site i sup and running and correctly set up with the correct DNS records.
Hope this helps, if you have any question or require and further help please feel free to contact me and I will try and help you when I can.
If I have helped you please follow me on
