Unlike for Flash sites, it is not possible to right click on your live HTML5 site and select to view the source code. Instead you will need to add ?_escaped_fragment_ to the end of your sites domain name. Eg. www.mydomain.com/?_escaped_fragment_.

Once you are viewing the ?_escaped_fragment_ version of your site, you can right click to View Source Code, but this is only if you are interested in viewing the source code. Otherwise, you can simply view the ?_escaped_fragment_ version of your site which will show you how Google views your site.

The following is a guide to help you manage the header tags for your HTML website:

Title - H1 - (only the most top left is H1 - second (etc) title will be H2)

Page Title- H2

Heading XL - H3

Heading L - H4

Heading M - H5

Heading S - H6

The rest of the styles are mapped to paragraph tag.

We can assure you that all of your Page Meta Tags are been crawled and recognized by search engines. A lot of time and thought has been put into the SEO side of this new product.

      Hi ricardonene1,

Please note that your Wix HTML5 website is built using HTML5 and AJAX technology. This has many benefits, such as animations on your page transitions, the ability to have your background, header and footer stay static while only the content changes, the ability to use all of the new HTML features as they are released, dynamic page sizing, optimization for mobile devices, etc.

To support using this technology, the URL's of your website need to be built in the following manner:

      1. This is your domain name
      2. #! - This is called a 'hashbang'. The # signifies a 'hash fragment' and is the convention being used today to link to content when using AJAX technology (similar to anchors in HTML). The ! specifies the escaped fragment, which is what allows search engines to understand where the content in your site is actually located – this is because the content you're seeing on your site is being rendered via AJAX technology which means that your page isn't 'reloading' – i.e., when you switch pages, your header, background and footer all stay in place. The content actually does exist on the server- but at another address. In order for the search engines to find this address, the ! is used as the 'escaped fragment', which tells the search engines where to find your content (as they cannot really crawl javascript properly).
You can learn more about AJAX technology  here.
      3. This is the name of the page you're on. After this, the symbol / is what we use as part of the mechanism described in point #2. This is where we specify the actual address of the page on the server
      4. This is the Page ID which is the actual address of the page on the server, and cannot currently be changed. This is necessary because it tells the browser (and search engines) where to fetch the content from.

Important Note: In order to share links to your site you must use the full link above (1-4) including thePage ID. Removing the Page ID will yield an invalid link.

For more information, visit our Learning Center page here.

Tip: Please note that if you feel that the URL is too long, you can use the Google URL shortener. Simply add your long URL- including the page #! and the page name, click "Shorten URL" and you will see on the right side the Google URL you can also use. It will look like this: http://goo.gl/ShONge .

If you want to view the source code of your wix site, please follow these instructions:

To view the HTML website as Google does, is simply add "?_escaped_fragment_" to the end of your websites domain name. Eg. www.mydomain.com/?_escaped_fragment_ Once you are viewing the ?_escaped_fragment_ version of your website, you can now right click to View Source Code, but this is only if you are interested in viewing the source code.

Otherwise, seeing the  ?_escaped_fragment_ version of your website is a nice way to see how Google is viewing your website.

Unfortunately it is not possible to receive the html code of your site to edit it.

Please note you will have to publish your site first.

Let us know if you need more information.

Hi, as far as I have understood, you need just to view the source code of your web-pages. This is easy to do: press Cntrl+u or rightclick the mouse and choose "source code". Good luck.

We offer SEO services for Yandex. For more information read more here.

    Hi ,

I have completed my project from wix. I want the source code. Is there any possibility that i can get it ?

      Hey freakikatare,

Please refer to the best reply of this thread as to how you can view your site's source code.

The editor needs constant connection to our servers, it is not possible to work with it offline or save your pages to your computer.
If you still want to save them, you can use the "print screen" option.

Please note: Wix does not support the option of exporting files created using Wix to an external destination or host.
We host all your Wix creations on our servers. The advantages of using Wix as your host include improvements to your site's loading time, search engine optimization and more.

If you have any other questions, please let us know!

      Thank you,

My SEO says I have two H1 tags

I have reviewed the SEO on my site.  It says I have 2 H1 tags on my home page but I can't work out where the other one is as I can't see the HTML code.  Can you tell me where it is or where I can find it.

My site is violetcloud.co.uk.  I am only coming up on page 2 for googles for my search "virtual assitant devon" which is quite low.  Any advice.

Hi. I'm trying to verify my site through google's webmaster tools. I added a cname file and I've been at this for days. I bought my name from a different source (not listed in their list) and transfered is to a paid site here.

Last time this happened with a different website I spoke to someone at google and they took over my screen and it only took 3 days to get solved. Can you all help me with the verification process?

Wix sites cannot be bought, they are free and you upgrade them to unlock premium features such as connecting a domain, removing Wix ads, activating the online store and more. The site's code is not available.
