We are using Ajax Crawling as a way for the search engines to read your websites code. With Ajax Crawling, your content, data and design are merged together and extracted far easier and quicker by search engines.

Using Ajax Crawling however means that accessing your source code is a little different.
If you access the source code the usual way (right clicking and view source), you will not see your websites content but rather a code, <meta name="fragment" content="!">, to tell search engines that we are using Ajax Crawling.

If you wish to view your website source code, use the below examples of where to place '?_escaped_fragment_=' within your domain name in order to access the escaped fragment version of your website. Once you are viewing the escaped fragment version of your website, you may right click and select 'View Source Code' in order to access your websites source code.

Example site - www.wixexample.com
1. Home Page - place ?_escaped_fragment_= at the end of your URL
www.wixexample.com/?_escaped_fragment_=

Example site - www.wixexample.com#!AboutUs/c2414
2. Individual pages - ?_escaped_fragment_= in place of the #!
www.wixexample.com/?_escaped_fragment_=AboutUs/c2414

We can assure you that your individual pages are seen by Google.

      Hey masseurdaniel,

Are you referring to adding code to the header of your site?

You can add header codes to the <head> section of your site for verification or authorship approval. Header code supported services include Google Webmaster toolsBing Webmaster ToolsTwitter CardsPinterest VerificationAlexa site owner claim, and more!

Note: In order to proceed  with Pinterest verification, you will first need to connect your own domain to your Wix site.

To add header codes to your site from the editor, click 'Settings' > 'SEO (Google)' > 'Advanced SEO Settings', paste the code, and click 'Apply'.

The code should follow this format:

      <meta name="google-site-verification" content="Your Code Here" />

      Do not add the following:

      - Free text
      - Title, Description or Keywords Meta Tags
      -
       Google Analytics Code
      - Scripts (<script>)
      - Robots (<meta name="robots" ... >)

*Make sure to publish your site and complete the verification process with the third party service.*

If you received an error when applying your code, please post it below.

    Hello Wix!

There is nothing wrong with adding the symbols in the address line.

The problem is that we cannot publish a dignify link in external pages.

You could solve the problem by creating a direct link for the full AJAX address, for example:

By publishing a link that looks like that: www.mysite.com/gift

It will be automaticly go to: www.mysite.com/#!gift/c1tog

Is there a way of doing it, or will you intend to make changes?

    Thank you!

      Hi rawrr3,

Wix HTML site is created with Ajax; therefore, the external code checker may not work properly.

Hi, Im at my Fragmented Site, but when I right click to view SOURCE CODE, it does not show up. Is there a certain place on the fragmented site I have to click on?

      Hi,

Please keep in mind:  it is not possible to see the source code directly of your site.

Have you followed the instructions above to see your source code?

      For example: greenscapesg.com?_escaped_fragment_=

Yes, I did go to my fragmented site. As I state in my question, I asked where on the fragmented site to I right click to see the SOURCE CODE?

e.g. On youtube it used to be anywhere, but now the source code can only be viewed when you right click on the very top left part of the video.

      Thanks

      Hi,

You just need to click on your background and not on a text or a picture. You should then be able to see the 'View source' option.

Hello! I'm looking at my Top Landing Pages inside of Google Analytics and it is showing the escaped fragment pages for 2-7. So when people click through to these pages in google search results, they are being shown the escaped_fragment pages. How do I fix this?

    • Tom Wix Team

Replied by Tom December 3, 2013

Are you seeing the escaped fragment version of your site on Google Search as well?

If so, please provide us with a screenshot of the Google search results page in which you see the escaped fragment listing so we can further investigate the issue from our end.

For instructions on how to take a screenshot, please use this link.

To upload the screenshot, simply click on the "Upload" button and follow the steps.

      Thanks,

Please note that it is not possible to change the name servers of a domain name purchased from Wix. You may either transfer the domain away from Wix, or point the domain to a different IP address.

      * If you have purchased a Wix domain, but have decided to transfer it away from Wix, you can do so easily by following the instructions here.

Important note: In accordance with ICANN rules, you cannot transfer your domain to another provider until 60 days after you register or transfer your domain.

      * To point your domain to a different IP address, you will need to modify the domain's A records. You will need to contact your new host and request for the relevant IP address. For more information about how to edit your A records, click here.

      Hi kuttyxxx

Wix doesn't have FTP. We only host the documents that are created by our users.

You can keep up to date with what features are Coming Soon here .
