We are using Ajax Crawling as a way for the search engines to read your websites code. With Ajax Crawling, your content, data and design are merged together and extracted far easier and quicker by search engines.

Using Ajax Crawling however means that accessing your source code is a little different.
If you access the source code the usual way (right clicking and view source), you will not see your websites content but rather a code, <meta name="fragment" content="!">, to tell search engines that we are using Ajax Crawling.

If you wish to view your website source code, use the below examples of where to place '?_escaped_fragment_=' within your domain name in order to access the escaped fragment version of your website. Once you are viewing the escaped fragment version of your website, you may right click and select 'View Source Code' in order to access your websites source code.

Example site - www.wixexample.com
1. Home Page - place ?_escaped_fragment_= at the end of your URL

Example site - www.wixexample.com#!AboutUs/c2414
2. Individual pages - ?_escaped_fragment_= in place of the #!

We can assure you that your individual pages are seen by Google.

For more information about Ajax Crawling click here.

    URGENT - Analytics problems

    To whom it may concern,

Please remove the hashtag from the url of my website greca.co because it blocks the #gclid parameter of Google Analytics. These has been adviced by the Google Team on a phone conversation.

    Please check https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2938246?hl=en

Moreover as a premium user we want to express my disappointment with Wix. This hashtag issue made us loose all recorded data, valuable time, and mislead our commercial actions.

Your prompt reply regarding this key issue is paramount.

Nika: This is NOT related to the parameter or issue. I have found threads regarding this issue dating back to 2011. Analytics is not tracking our Adwords campaign traffic. Pay attention and solve the issue.

      Hi colomboguido,

      I apologize for the confusion.

The hashbang symbols (#!) in the URL are part of the AJAX technology and deep linking mechanism and cannot be removed or altered.

This mechanism is important for SEO purposes and increases your site's visibility for Google.

You can read more about this technology here .

Are we speaking the same language here? So you are telling me that WIX cannot track my Ad campaing because of the hashtag you need to remove? Why is it a Premium feature then? This makes no sense! I miss %25 of my traffic, flow chart, stats and so on because of a simple hash? Plus there is no (#!) in my url according to the source code!!

Elia thank very much. But you are politely telling me that you dont give a crap (sorry for the strong word - cant find other words right now) since both features were not deployed and nowhere to be seing on the roadmap. This problem is already several years old. I need this problem to be solved. Otherwise why you have Analytics as a premium feature. Solve the problem.

Currently it is not possible to track Adwords, as the "gclid" parameter does not function correctly on Wix sites.  We are working on improving Wix's tracking compatibility, and will provide updates in the main thread concerning this subject.

I apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

      Hey Pavel,

I am sorry for the confusion.

I can see from our records that you published your Wix website on 17/06/2014.

Please be aware that it can take from 1 to 3 months for Google to update its database and for your site to be indexed. Finding your site using your relevant keywords may take even more time.

One way to speed up this process is to submit your website directly to search engines.

You can submit your website directly to Google here.
You can submit your website directly to Bing here.

Wix guarantees that all of the text and meta tags on your site are being scanned by search engines, however we cannot guarantee that Google will choose to assign your website a high rank, this part is up to you.

Make sure that your websites content has been optimized in accordance with the advice offered in our SEO Learning Center. We also recommend that you use the SEO Wizard & Monitoring tool for a more in depth analysis of your site’s SEO.

I checked your site: securesystemsonline.com and I saw you correctly added the H1 title to your Wix site.

I can see you published the site on: 24/4/2014

Please keep in mind: Usually it takes around 1-3 months to appear in Google search.

This waiting period is the same for all websites, not just those created using Wix.

      Hey masseurdaniel,

Are you referring to adding code to the header of your site?

You can add header codes to the <head> section of your site for verification or authorship approval. Header code supported services include Google Webmaster toolsBing Webmaster ToolsTwitter CardsPinterest VerificationAlexa site owner claim, and more!

Note: In order to proceed  with Pinterest verification, you will first need to connect your own domain to your Wix site.

To add header codes to your site from the editor, click 'Settings' > 'SEO (Google)' > 'Advanced SEO Settings', paste the code, and click 'Apply'.

The code should follow this format:

      <meta name="google-site-verification" content="Your Code Here" />

      Do not add the following:

      - Free text
      - Title, Description or Keywords Meta Tags
       Google Analytics Code
      - Scripts (<script>)
      - Robots (<meta name="robots" ... >)

*Make sure to publish your site and complete the verification process with the third party service.*

If you received an error when applying your code, please post it below.

For more information, click here, or watch the video below:

If there is anything else we can do for you, please let us know!

    Hello Wix!

There is nothing wrong with adding the symbols in the address line.

The problem is that we cannot publish a dignify link in external pages.

You could solve the problem by creating a direct link for the full AJAX address, for example:

By publishing a link that looks like that: www.mysite.com/gift

It will be automaticly go to: www.mysite.com/#!gift/c1tog

Is there a way of doing it, or will you intend to make changes?

    Thank you!
