Every Wix creation has an XML sitemap that assists in getting content recognized by search engines (and Google Analytics).

The sitemap is dynamically generated within our server and , therefore, stays up to date with any pages that you add or remove from your site.
To view your sitemap, add sitemap.xml to the end of your domain name. Example: mydomainname.com/sitemap.xml .
Note: If you cannot see the Sitemap, please make sure that you have selected to 'Allow search engines to find my site' from within your site SEO settings

my website has 6 pages in 3 languages meaning 18 pages total. I checked my sitemap and I could see that some are duplicated and many of them are missing. I also checked in my Google analytic and it mentions that I have no sitemap added. I tried to add but it doesnt read my page address of each page and it says that it is invalid. Please check my website called "Biodent" for Biodent-clinic domain and see if you could please help me and list my pages. I constantly losing clicks and traffics for the other two languages especially Russian due to this issue. Please help us with that

    adding sitemaps

Hi, I'd like to add a sitemap to my domain but in unsure as to where I should put the sitemap.xml, is it in the editor or in the manage domains area on the main Wix site before opening the editor?

      Hey  ralpinedesign,

You can access your site map from here.

As you can see in the link, you can simply add sitemap.xml to the end of your domain name.

Google Webmaster tells me it cannot find a Sitemap for my site.

When I queried wix support, it says: "Every Wix creation has an XML sitemap that assists in getting content recognized by search engines (and Google Analytics).

The sitemap is dynamically generated within our server and , therefore, stays up to date with any pages that you add or remove from your site."

    So, I'm confused. Please help.

      Hi cnpbizsolutions,

I can see many domains in your account - to which of your domains do you refer? Please also make sure that the site connected to that domain enables your site to be found by search engines (Editor > Settings > SEO > Let search engines find my site > Save change!).

Your sitemap is fully visible and functional. You can check it here.

They should be able to fetch and read it correctly. Please try again and if this problem still persists you will need to contact them as the sitemap is fully functional.

If you need any further assistance please let us know.

I feel as though I have pursued all of the available SEO tools you offer, and have done some more investigating on my own. I have common keywords in my homepage title, and every page, a good h1, titled pictures.  Pictures are actually coming up fairly well in image searches. The site was able to fetch as google successfully. I know my site is site mapped and indexed on webmaster tools, I have checked the sitemap.xml and saw that the !# are all mapped.  I checked the robots.txt and saw everything was in order. everything seems not just fine, but really well organized.

And still, my first page, which isnt my homepage, shows up in the middle of the second page.  Admittedly, there is an old site for our farm that is eating up some organic hits, however, this new site is not improving in results, or relative to the old sites placement.

My questions are around how your servers handle requests for "ugly pages".  I know that there are these html snapshot pages.  My question is if your servers are able to handle requests from crawlers for ugly pages, and if so, are crawlers then properly able to extract the dynamic pages? Can I establish servlet filter? Is this needed or possible? Also, do you restrict access to indexed pages in some way?

Im just a bit confused how everything can be set up so well, and I think AJAX apps are great, but some dot somewhere is not connected, just wondering if it is on my end... what can I do beyond your SEO wizard, and other SEO tools.

      Hi Paul,

This issue doesn't actually have anything to do with your settings which I checked and are fine - site structure can only bring your SEO so far. Don't forget that you're competing against other sites for your keywords - a competition that's more like a marathon than a sprint.

It seems that you know your way around SEO, but from what you've told me you haven't mentioned any backlinking strategy or content creation that will put your site ahead of the other competitors. That said, please note that it is apparently not your final ranking on google and that rankings don't change from day to day rather on changing intervals - make sure to promote your site well on relevant sites with a decent backlinks strategy and you'll see the results.

You can start by using Site booster from the business apps page in your My Account. The free version lists your site on Yelp and Mapquest (this helps creating backlinks, which are generally links from high quality sites to your site, that tell google that your site is important and should be ranked higher) and the paid version is a really powerful backlinking tool which is always a good thing to consider.

Let us know if you have any questions.

      Unfortunately, it is not possible.

      • Your Wix HTML5 website is built using HTML5 and AJAX technology . This has many benefits including the ability to have animated page transitions, your own  background, a header and footer that stay static while the rest of your content is dynamic, use of all of the new HTML features as they are released, dynamic page sizing and optimization for mobile devices.

      • To support using this  technology the URLs of your website are built in the following manner:

1: This is your domain name.
2: #! - This is called a 'hashbang'. For further explanation about the hashbang symbol, see below.
3: This is the name of the page you are on.
4: This is the Page ID and indicates the actual address of the page on the server. The Page ID cannot be changed as it tells the browser (and search engines) where to fetch the content from.

Important Note: When sharing links to your site, please make sure that you use the full link including the Page ID. Removing the Page ID when sharing a link will lead your visitor to an invalid page.

I checked your sitemap and I saw your sitemap: www.bestpricedlawyers.com/sitemap.xml loads perfectly from my end as it appears exactly from your end.

This is how the sitemap looks.

Regarding Google webmaster, in order to properly verify with Google webmaster, you will need to add the code in the following format:

      <meta name='google-site-verification' content='Your Code Here' />

Currently, your code not in this exact format.

Please adjust your code to fit the following format.

      Thank you,

I am having trouble getting my sites getting a favorable rating on google.  I have tried to pull up my site map to find a very small map:

    http://www.bugsorus.org/#!about/cjn9 0.5 2013-12-18 monthly http://www.bugsorus.org/#!residential/c1x1t 0.5 2013-12-18 monthly http://www.bugsorus.org/#!about2/c24ic 0.5 2013-12-18 monthly http://www.bugsorus.org/#!large-grid/clq7 0.5 2013-12-18 monthlyhttp://www.bugsorus.org/#!contact/con8 0.5 2013-12-18 monthly http://www.bugsorus.org/#!about1/c1z94 0.5 2013-12-18 monthly http://www.bugsorus.org/ 0.5 2013-12-19 monthly

does this look correct?  actually the only page coming up is "http://www.bugsorus.org/#!about2/c24ic" and no others.  Any thoughts?

Please note that I have your Wix site at bugsorus.org and am able to see all of the pages listed in your sitemap, without issue. Please clarify as to the issue you are experiencing, so we can better assist you.

We have checked all the necessary coding from our side and we can see that everything is in order.

We have also seen that the last time Google crawled your site was 14/12/2013, which is great.

To see if Google has indexed your website, as well as the last time your site was indexed i.e. to see a cached version of your website, enter your website’s URL with the word “cache:” before it in the Google search. For example, cache:www.mydomain.com. If your website comes up, this means that Google has already indexed it.

Please note that your Wix site having been indexed is not the same as attaining a high rank according to a specific keyword phrase. Attaining a high ranking according to those keyword phrases may take time and continuous work.

If your website is not appearing in search engine results when you perform a search using specific keywords, you may need to continue the process of Search Engine Optimization. To help you get the results you want, please read out SEO Learning Center pages for tips and advice.

Please check here for more information about keywords and keyword density.

Another explanation could be that you have employed certain techniques that have dropped your website’s page rank. You can read about these techniques in detail here.

With the Wix SEO Monitoring Tool you will receive a Step by step guide to improve your site's SEO.

In addition, you can also target what your customers are searching for and it will help your site to get found on Google.

You may also consider using Google Webmaster Tools to help you in the optimization process.
