Building your website with Wix guarantees that all the text and the meta tags are scanned by search engines. This does not guarantee that Google will give your site a high ranking.

If you have created a website on a popular topic, or you are searching using a very general keyword, there will be a lot of competition to get ranked higher up. In general, achieving a good rank may take years and a considerable amount of effort and money (for SEO specialists).

You can find ways to improve your SEO by reading a few articles here.

We also suggest that your check out the Wix SEO monitoring tool to learn how to improve your site's SEO.

Even though my keywords, SEO description and the text on my website state "rock guitar lessons in bury" I am only on page 3 of Google even though - looking at the paragraph of text under each search result - mine is the only site in the search results with that exact phrase. Websites that are ranking much higher than me have the keywords broken up eg: "guitar lessons for children. Learn to play all kinds of music from rock to classical......Bury, Lancashire".. Some don't even have any of these keywords!!

    Hi,

I plan to purchase a premium account once the Wix site I am working on is complete. This new site is replacing an older one that is adwords associated and I am concerned about the affects the switch will have on the SEO ranking. I plan to use a domain name that I already own and is associated with the old site. How do I avoid destroying the equity already built?

(I have read up on the seo tools wix offers and haven't found the answering regarding website redesign)

    Thank you!

    Andrea

      Dear Andrea,

I'd recommend using Google Webmaster Tools.

Wix guarantees that all of the text and meta tags on your site are being scanned by search engines. However, you need to remember that whenever you update your website, it needs to be crawled by the search engine, such as Google,  before you can expect to see these changes reflected on search results.

It can take anywhere from 1 to 3 months. To speed the process you can re- submit, if you haven’t already, your website directly to Google through here

To see if Google has indexed your website, as well as the last time this happened i.e. to see a cached version of your website, enter your website’s URL with the word cache: before it in the Google search. For example: cache:www.mydomain.com

With the Wix SEO Monitoring Tool you will receive a step by step guide to improve your site's SEO. In addition, you can also target what your customers are searching for and it will help your site to get found on Google.

Hi there, I have just purchased the Site Booster Premium 695 @ $4.95 per month. My site is cakeartistry.com.au. How long before I can start to see this working on search engines as my site doesn't appear on goggle search at all.

      Hi,

I can see that your site was already cached by Google.

Wix guarantees that all of the text and meta tags on your site are being scanned by search engines, however we cannot guarantee that Google will choose to assign your website a high rank, this part is up to you.

Make sure that your websites content has been optimized in accordance with the advice offered in our SEO Learning Center. We also recommend that you use the SEO Wizard & Monitoring tool for a more in depth analysis of your site’s SEO.

      Hey!

Building your website with Wix guarantees that all the text and the meta tags are being scanned by search engines.
However, it doesn't guarantee that Google will choose to rank your website in a desirable place...

I have merged your reply to the relevant thread. Please refer to the best reply above.

when searching my name/keywoard מרפאת סולומון , my site only comes up number 8 although the wix seo supporter says ive dne everything right. - i realise that could be for many reasons but what really frustrates me is that what appears in spot 8, is an arbitrary page and not my homepage!  What am I doing wrong?

      this was very unhelpful.

I already read more in SEO learning center, used the wix SEO monitoring tool (which basically says i've done everything right) and I know that it takes time and continuous work but that fact that an arbitrary page with very little text DOES appear albeit at no.8, and my homepage which has great keyword usage and everything right (according to wix seo monitoring tool) appear nowhere.. leads me to believe that there is something specific that i've done very wrong.

Please note that keywords are a competitive market and SEO requires a long-term outlook and commitment. Wix guarantees that all of the text and meta tags on your site are being scanned by search engines, however we cannot guarantee that Google will choose to rank your website highly, this part is up to you. Top companies spend thousands of dollars to ensure their keywords come up top.

Please note that the ranking of your site's pages in the search results depends also on the keyword used. The more unique the keyword is, the less competition it has and the higher your site will appear on search results for that keyword, however, that does not necessarily mean that this keyword is effective and that potential customers are actually searching for it (for instance, If I use the search term 'plplsoijijshijijshguhsujsuhsu' as a keyword on my site, I may be the number 1 result on Google when searching for 'plplsoijijshijijshguhsujsuhsu'. But, potential customers will not be able to find me, because none of them are searching for 'plplsoijijshijijshguhsujsuhsu'.)

מרפאת סולומון is my company name, in Israel, many people search for the name instead of trying to type out the website url (which is in English).  I understand the competitiveness of it, and am not complaining that search result 1 is a registry where we've listed ourselves, or that two and three are a dentistry clinic with a similar name, or that next is our facebook.

I am not blaming wix, and I understand things take time..  I have no problem coming in at number 8.  My issue that I am trying to understand is that at number 8 comes our appointment page - which is an arbitrary page with relatively little text.  Whereas our homepage which has correct text and keyword usage etc does not appear anywhere.

I would love it if anyone could find an explanation for that for me, perhaps something I can change for the better.

      Hi,

I have reviewed you SEO settings for your homepage and your contact page.

I have noticed that the page title is the same for both of them and the same for several other pages.

Since you also have the map in your contact page this encourages Google to display it first.

Please configure your SEO settings in a manner that the keywords direct where you want them to direct, and make sure the page title is the stating correctly the page's purpose.

In addition I have noticed that your logo, on the upper right hand side of the screen is was set as a button, but since it is not linking anywhere it may cause conflicts when google recrawls your site.

Please change this button into a box instead.

Please let us know how it went should you require further assistance.

All the best, Dean - Wix Team

The time has been changed. Do you know that Google recently came up with his new SEO hummingbird update that hits many of the website keywords ranking and page rank. Before this Google has published his new algorithm Penguin 2.1 which was also a major update.

If your website is not ranking in top of listing then make sure that your website should have highly relevant backlinks and that backlinks website should also have high Page Rank.

SEO is not a one way task; SEO is a continuous task because their are hundreds of other company who are also working for the better ranking on the same keywords that you are using for your website.

Well come to point.....you need to make some more new, healthy and fresh backlinks for your website to get back to Google top of listings.

    Thanks,

    Arianna

    Hi Wix team,

I have a website (www.smartechnofiles.com) up and running since August 2013. I have used All-In-One-SEO and I even get 3rd spot in Google search result when I search certain keywords like 'Open Test Architecture API'. But when I try to use the prchecker ranking website from Google, it is still N/A.

Do I have to worry about prchecker ranking?

    Appreciate your advice.

Please be aware that currently there is an issue with Google's ability to update the PageRank meter in the Google Toolbar. While your PageRank is still constantly updated (it continues to be used for ranking pages), this updated information currently cannot be relayed to you by Google.

As this issue is on Google's end, we are following this matter closely, and will update you as soon as any feedback arises.

Hi, I too am struggling to have my page www.a-door-able.net present in the top 2 pages of google when searched by keyword 'fairy doors' or 'a-door-able', however, when I search a-door-able fairy doors, I rank number one.

I have used the SEO Tool and it states that I meet the SEO rankings as good.

All my images are titled 'fairy door' my page titles all include fairy door, and my homepage has fairy door many times.

I have been looking at the crawl options on webmaster, and have done the 'fetch to google' for several of my pages, however, still rank on page 27 when searching fairy doors.

What else can I do, as I pay my for my website, and I get less traffic than my free FB page.

    Please help!!!
