    Hello,

I would just to clarify something. If I connect my domain elsewhere to the wix domain, does it mean that I would be using the storage and bandwidth allowance on the wix premium plans and the allowance that I get from the domain host elsewhere is meaningless? Please kindly reply.

    Thanks

I would also like to know if I have my email hosted elsewhere and now that I connect that with wix, does it mean that the storage and bandwidth shown on the premium package is now shared between the website and the email account that I have conencted with wix, or the connection between my email hosted elsewhere has nothing to do with the storage and bandwidth and only the domain name does. Please kindly advise.

If you have a Wix site you spend bandwidth for every visitor you have. This is true regardless of the fact that you have or have not connected a domain to your site. As Wix hosts your site it is your Wix site's bandwidth which is important.

Storage and bandwidth provided by Wix have nothing to do with your email, the email account has a set limit of storage, nowadays it is usually very considerable.

Does it mean that I could pay the very least to the domain host and as long as my domain is up and running the bandwidth and storage allowance on that end is irrelevant?

      Yes!

      We will host your site!

But I recommend to just go for the best most popular premium plan de Unlimited Yearly contract!

An answer to this topic can be found in Does Wix have any current promotions?

Hi, if I were to subscribe for the Unlimited package, does it mean I get to build and host unlimited websites with that single package ?

Thank you for your time and effort !

Looking forward to hearing from you.

      Hi fabiankhaw88,

No, unfortunately, this is not the intention of the Unlimited plan. The Unlimited plan can only be applied to one site within your account. With the Unlimited plan, you get the ability to connect your domain, remove the Wix ads from your site, as well as storage up to 10GB with unlimited bandwidth.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

      - Regards, Carley

I'm not finding my particular situation here. Please answer soon.

I already have a domain name and a hosting account through another provider. The only thing that is missing is a great template. I have found an awesome template to use here.

Can I use your template edited through your Wix Editor through my hosting provider? Must I abandon my provider and use your hosting program instead? How can that work out?

      Hello,

You can connect your Wix site to your domain by transferring the domain to Wix, or connecting through name servers.

The fastest method for domain connection is through name servers, which means that the domain remains with the current host, but redirects to Wix. When connecting your domain to the Wix name servers there are three important steps that you must complete.

      1) The Wix site must be upgraded. Please click here for more information about our premium packages.

      1) After upgrading, go to your Wix Domain Manager (My Account > Manage Premium > Domains) and add your domain.
For more information, please click here.

      2) Please contact your domain host and ask them to connect your domain via the name servers NS1.WIX.COM (IP address 216.139.210.195) and NS2.WIX.COM (IP address 207.36.47.9).

All of these steps are essential and the omission of either will result in a domain that’s not connected correctly. You can troubleshoot your domain here.

Note: Please make sure to firstly add your domain name under the Wix domain manager

The second option is to transfer the domain to Wix, so that Wix is your domain host. This feature has not yet been released to all users.

You can currently transfer only domains with the following extensions: .com, .org, .net, .biz. and .info. You can transfer your domain from another registrar to your Wix account. To transfer your domain, verify that at least 60 days have passed since your registered or last transferred your domain and make sure that your domain is unlocked.

For more information please click here.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if we could assist you further.

      Sincerely, Leah Wix Team

So now I'm still confused. Who will be my host? My current host or Wix?

    • queenaledia

Replied by queenaledia March 16, 2014

And my current domain is with extension .co.  What should I do?  I can set up a redirect in my host? Plan to send customers to another url. But it would be much easier just to purchase the template.

    • Jonathan Wix Team

Replied by Jonathan March 17, 2014

If you transfer the domain Wix will become your domain host, if you keep the domain where it is but just connect the domain then the current domain host will remain your domain host.

Don't re-direct, it is horrible for SEO (Search Engine Organization - how easily your site is found through search engines) purposes and makes analytics almost impossible (seeing who visits your website and form where). Transfer your domain or keep it where it is but connect it. You have the instructions in our previous post.

      Hey,

To downgrade your package, you just need to cancel your package and then repurchase your desired package.

In order to cancel your premium upgrade, please-

      1. Sign into Wix.com.
      2. Click My Account.
      3. From My Account, next to Manage Premium, click Billing and Payment.
      4. Next to your package, click Manage.
      5. Next to Next payment, click Cancel.
      6. Follow the steps in the pop-ups that open.

If you are having trouble repurchasing a package after cancellation, please go to "Manage Premium" > Packages" and click "Unassign" to remove the document from the package. Then try to repurchase a package again.

Please let us know should you require any further assistance

      Thanks,

If I move my domain name from GoDaddy, how much will it cost to move to a premium plan? I would also like to know how much it would cost for an email address.

    hello,

I am building a website and really liked a template, but the price says it is ecommerce.

i want a premium account,so can i buy premium and use the template without the ecommerce feautres(cart, payment etc?)

    • Tali Wix Team

      Hey

All templates are 100% free. However, some templates include extra "premium" features that require an upgrade to work - our eCommerce shopping cart for instance.

You will always be notified about these features via Price in Create, and also if you drag & drop the the feature to use in the Wix editor.

And you are NOT obliged to upgrade. You can also choose to delete these premium features and customize the template for free.

Please let us know should you require any further assistance.

      I am sorry,I guess I was unclear.

what i meant to ask was,if all the templates will be available once you upgrade, even the ones with price mentioned as eCommerce.

I am looking to upgrade to unlimited but without eCommerce, but like a template marked as ecommerce.

in short,a ecommerce template without ecommerce being carried on in it!

eCommerce templates don't actually costs anything, you can pick them and edit them and publish normally. The thing is that activating the eCommerce system requires the site to be upgraded with an eCommerce premium plan.

      Hi michaelrlawrence,

I can see that you have an ecommerce package - I do not see a VIP plan in this account. If you have a VIP plan in a different account, please send us an email to premium@wix.com from the email you use for the VIP account and we will be happy to assist you.

Please note that we are also always happy to help you here in the forum.

Is it possible to get unlimited bandwidth for an e-commerce package? We are considering an online store and accept paymt thru paypal. Also can we pay the premium upgrade thru paypal? thanks

    • Jonathan Wix Team

Replied by Jonathan February 2, 2014

Unfortunately the premium package cannot currently be paid through PayPal.

Regarding a store with unlimited bandwidth, if you wish to sell through the store then the eCommerce package is right for you. The vast majority of eCommerce users do not approach the bandwidth limit, we are quite certain it will be enough. You will receive an automated email if you even approach half the limit.

    Hello,

I am interested in creating a photography site on Wix. However, I'm a bit confused.

Can you please elaborate on what "connect your own domain" means? Does that mean that I can make my URL/domain whatever I want? For example, if I wanted to make my website "nateculbertphotography.com", what package would I want to buy? Also, I'm on a tight budget, so please recommend one that isn't too costly.

    Thanks!    - Nate Culbert

    • Jonathan Wix Team

Replied by Jonathan February 2, 2014

Yes, that is what a domain means. Connecting a domain to your site is a premium feature so you will have to upgrade. We recommend yearly packages, the Combo or Unlimited packages will suit you, they remove Wix ads from the site, they enable a domain connection and they also include a free domain for 1 year.
