You can add an Online Store to any Wix template or a site that you've built from scratch. It's free to try out in the Wix Editor, but you will need to upgrade to the eCommerce plan to start selling. For instructions on how to upgrade, click here.

 

To add an Online Store: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click Online Store > click Product Gallery > click Add to Page

From the Choose Collection window, select one of the collections > click OK.

 

Note: You'll be able to add additional collections or edit your existing collections, at any time, from the Wix Store Manager.

To access the Wix Store Manager: Click the Product Gallery to select it > from the pop-up menu, click Manage Store.

 

Don't forget to add a Shopping Cart to your site!

To add a Shopping Cart: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click Online Store > click Shopping Cart.

    store issues

    I am having customers complain that my site isn't allowing them to checkout. I cannot seem to replicate the problem. 

    Is there anyone familiar with ecommerce that might be able to point me in the right direction?

    hi i have a online store which i cannot use my domain name on as the management company who i have the store with i dont know what it means as asked this question can you help regards karen

    Hi,

    Your bookstore is ready for use, but your Domain Name Server (DNS)
    settings need to be updated.  When the DNS settings for your domain
    name have been updated and the changes have propagated throughout the
    Internet you will be able to use your store.

    Here are the DNS settings for your domain name to work with the store we built.

    Primary DNS = NS1.CLNAMESERVER.COM
    Secondary DNS = NS1.LINKOPOLY.COM

    You will need to change these settings through your domain name
    registration company.

      Do you want to connect your domain: millhousebooks.org to a site hosted on external host?

       

      Please note that it is not possible to change the name servers of a domain name purchased from Wix. You may either transfer the domain away from Wix, or point the domain to a different IP address.
       
      * If you have purchased a Wix domain, but have decided to transfer it away from Wix, you can do so easily by following the instructions here.

       


      Important note: In accordance with ICANN rules, you cannot transfer your domain to another provider until 60 days after you register or transfer your domain.
       
      * To point your domain to a different IP address, you will need to modify the domain's A records. You will need to contact your new host and request for the relevant IP address. For more information about how to edit your A records, click here.

    Hi!

    When there's only one item in my cart - the buy button is functioning. If I add a second item to my shopping cart - it is no longer possible to proceed to checkout. How do I resolve this issue?

      I have visited your site and I am unable to replicate the issue reported. I have added two items to the cart and I am able to checkout without encountering any issues:

      While browsing on the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.

      Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.
       

      Should the issue persists, please specify what happens when you try to checkout. If you receive an error message, please provide us with a screen shot. For instructions on how to take a screenshot, please use this link.

       

      To upload the screenshot, simply click on the "Upload" button and follow the steps.

    If you're looking to sell digital downloads in particular you can use the CloudSwipe Digital Downloads app which includes built-in file storage/management as well as credit card payments right on your Wix site.

    I don't want to start from scratch. I want a complete ecommerce function that can be modified. Why is't that option available?

      Can you please elaborate more on the issue you are encountering?

       

      You don't need to build a site from scratch in order to create an Online Store, you can simply add the Product Gallery and start adding your products.

    Hi, I'd like to be able to offer 'sale' items on my online store - where it would show the previous selling price and the sale price. I've searched for how to do this but still haven't worked out if it's possible. Are you able to suggest anything? Thanks!

      Hi,

      You can show both the retail price and the new price of the product.

       

      Click on your product gallery > Manage Store > Select a product, in Product Details you have two price fields. 

       

      The top "Price" field, is the new product price and the "Retail Price" field is the old price, it will appear as crossed out next to the new price.

       

      You can also add a Ribbon to your product, it's a short message that will appear next to your product (You can add "Sale").

    Hi

    I've setup my store with shipping and payment and have even made a couple of sales! 

    I'd like to be able to offer pickup and or dropoff as a shipping method - how do I go about doing this?

      Hi, 

      Offline payments enable you to accept payment options other than credit cards (i.e. cash, check, bank transfer, wire transfer, etc.). When a customer places an order from your online store, you will receive an email containing the order information and their contact details. Contact them to finalize the order and arrange the method of payment.
       

      To select the Offline Payments method: Click the Product Gallery to select it > from the pop-up menu, click Manage Store > click the Payment & Currency tab.

      Under Payment Method, select Offline Payment > fill in the relevant information > click Save.

      Its not payment that I want to make flexible - I'm happy to have everything go through paypal. I want to be able to offer another shipping option which is Pickup from Store so that people have the option and aren't forced to pay for shipping. Can I set a shipping method that is free?

      Hi, 

      I apologize for the confusion.

      Shipping Rules can be calculated by Price Range or Weight Range. In addition, you can add a Handling Fee to all purchases.

       

      To add Shipping Rules: Click your Product Gallery to select it > from the pop-up menu, clickManage Store > click the Shipping tab > under Shipping Fee Calculation Method, selectPrice Range or Weight Range.

      Click Add Shipping Rule > under Shipping Destination, enter the country that the rule applies to > under Price Range/Weight Range, enter the shipping rule for each price/weight range > clickAdd Range to add another price/weight range.

      Repeat this process to add Shipping Rules for different countries.

       

      To add a handling fee to all purchases: Under Handling Fee > enter the amount.

       

      Note: If you have set up shipping and tax options on your merchant account, you will need to remove these settings before using the Store Manager shipping and tax settings.

      Hi Rony

      Still not going to achieve what I was after. I have setup for shipping in Auckland, New Zealand however that is not granular enough for me. I want to be able to offer free shipping to people that live nearby me or at my local school. 

      Is there a way to go a lower level of detail for shipping than just major city? I won't be shipping outside New Zealand.

      Is my best bet to get the Shopify App to achieve the flexibility for local shipping I want? If so do I downgrade my package to an Unlimited one the buy the Shopify App or get the Shopify App first and move my products there so I don't lose my collectons etc?

      Can you advise on how to add a Shopify App to an existing ECommerce plan?

    I upgraded to the ecommerce plan today so I can start selling products. However I would like to change my current template to the electronic store (ecommerce) template. When I try to transfer it mentions that I must have at least 2 documents. I don't know what this means. I just want to switch the template without changing my domain name.

    hello,

     

    I am currently a monthly subscriber to Wix using the Unlimited Plan.  I'm thinking about adding an ecommerce store to my site and was wondering what 10 GB bandwidth limit is all about where the Unlimited Plan is, well... unlimited.  I noticed the next tier (VIP) is also unlimited, is this to get customers to buy the higher cost VIP plan?

    Also, if I integrate/upgrade to the a new plan with an e-store, do I have to completely redo my site?  I would prefer not to.  Anyway to upgrade my current site to include an e-store option?

    Lastly, how do I prevent being double charged like I did when I upgraded my previous site from a Flash-based site to an HTML 5 site.

    I wrote in before but didn't get a response, Can you please let me know ASAP?  Thank you.

      Hi, and thank you for contacting the Wix support team.

       

      The difference between the Unlimited premium package and the VIP premium plan includes first priority support, connecting your domain and removing the Wix ads from your site. You can store up to 20GB with unlimited bandwidth.

      In regards to upgrading your account - you will not have to redo your site. The site itself will not change however you will need to add the e-store to it.
