You can create as many sites as you need under one account!

Note: A premium plan is valid for one site only. If you wish to have two sites with different domain names you will need to upgrade both of these sites. You can find information about our plans here.

Note: If you are a designer and plan to create sites for multiple clients, we suggest creating separate accounts for each client. This way you can provide the client access to his or her sites only, and add the client's billing information if necessary. There is no limit to the number of accounts that you can create.

Come On Guys you need to allow multiple sites to be under one account. No one is going to change from other sitebuilders to WIX if you continue to require us to set up muliple accounts. Most including Homestead allow us to build as many as we want without additional accounts or costs.

Sadly Homestead has got lost with an outdated poor system

I think you need to make it a priority to get in line with the others offering web site construction

I build many sites, i like the wix system (although there are many fixes that need to be made)

      Hello,

Actually, as you can see on the top of this thread, you can create as many sites as you need under one account.

Please note that Wix has a different pricing system than another companies. For example, at Wix you cannot create more than one site under one premium plan, but the price is lower. Therefore, there is no point in comparing.

Please feel free to contact us in case you need further assistance.

      Hello,

Please note that you can use only one site with one premium plan.

If you want to connect two domains to two different sites, you need to upgrade both of them to two premium plans (one for each site).

Please feel free to contact us in case you need further assistance.

      Hey Patrick,

If you wish to connect domains to 3 different sites, you will have to upgrade each site to premium in order to connect your own domains.

If you wish to connect more than one domain to 1 Wix site, please note that you can connect up to three domain names (URLs) to one Wix site through the Wix domain manager.

In order to connect an secondary domain to your current domain, please make sure to add the new domain to your account as well (use the already have a domain link). Once both domains are listed in your domain manager, please follow these instructions:

Step 1: Decide which domain address is your primary one ( www.exampledomain.com).  The other domain address ( www.exampledomain2.com) will be your secondary.

Step 2: Connect your primary domain to your Wix site.

Step 3: Once you have connected your primary domain to your Wix site, from the top menu, hover over Subscriptions > click Domains > next to your secondary domain, click Manage.

From Domain Summary, under Domain Connects To, click Change >  from the pop-up window, select To another domain name > choose your primary domain from the drop down menu > click Save.

Your domain name is now redirected! You will be able to see this under the Domain Summary. Please make sure you click the Check Connection button in the Domain Summary section to verify that the connection was successful.

      Thanks,

    Hello,

I have several wordpress sites, each offering variations of the same topic.

As an example, if I was selling books, I might have one site for children's books, another for DIY books etc. They would have different domain names which I already own i.e. www.childrensbooks.co.uk and www.diybooks.co.uk

Are you saying that if I wanted them on a Wix Premium site, that they couldn't be on one account, they would each have to be on separate accounts?

If that is true, then because I have about 8 domain names, there is no point in becoming a member as it's too expensive. I'd have to stay with wordpress.

A pity because Wix is a very good company!

      Hey,

      Thank you for reaching out,

The site's can all be under the same account, however in order to connect these domains you will need to upgrade each one of the sites separately.

You can connect up to 3 domains per premium plan to each site.

Let us know if you need anything else.

      appreciate your response Dean.

If I have understood correctly, I can connect up to 3 domain names per premium plan but each premium plan can only accommodate one site?

      Have I got that right?

Hi, I am trying to create another site. I already have a premium plan but since I want to do a "home edition" I want to create another site but when people want to purchase certain things I want them to be forwarded to the "home edition" site. Do I need to create a premium plan for both? I just wanted a diff template to show it is the "home edition" section.

    Thanks.

    • Ella Wix Team

Replied by Ella May 21, 2014

      Hi,

If the "home edition" is an online store, than yes - you need the new site to have an e-Commerce plan as well. If it is a regular site, with no store, you don't need two premium plans.

You can create a free site, and connect it to your premium site via buttons. Note that if you do so, the url will change into the free site's url (username.wix.com/sitename). You might want to place a button in the free site redirecting the visitors back to the main site.

Should you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!

    Hello,

I am offering web solutions to few clients and currently depending on Weebly's Designer Platform. If Wix launches similar package, I'd be interested in using your service as well.

    Must haves:

    1. Client access to developer branded login. (Similar to Weebly / better).

    2. Preview option for clients and payment to Wix once site is live.

    3. Ecommerce for Client Websites.

    4. Restricted client access depending upon need.

    5. Client Dashboard - Stats, Control panel for messages, comments.

    6. Multiple client sites from one client login.

    7. For developer - to maintain multiple Client Accounts - Under each account - Multiple Sites.

I'd like to hear if anything related to the above is under development at Wix.

    Thank you,

    --

    Regards,

    Deeks.

      Hello Deeks,

1 + 4. Please note that in order to edit the site your clients must have access to your Wix account (i.e to the site owner account). This means that unless your clients know your Wix username and password, only you can edit your site.

Please note: If you are building sites for clients, we recommend creating a separate account for each client. That way, if you need to give them access, they will not be able to see the other websites or credit card details on the account.
You can easily transfer a Wix site from one account to another. Please follow the instructions here. Please note that you can only transfer the site. It isn't possible to transfer a premium package from one account to another.

      2. Our editor have a 'Preview' option, before publishing the site. You can preview your site by going into Preview Mode. In Preview Mode, you can browse through your site as if it is online.

To go into the Preview Mode of your site, click Preview from the top of the Editor.
To go back to your Editor, click Back to Editor from the top left of Preview Mode.

You can go into your Editor and preview your site at any time, including after your site is published!

You can find more information here. Also, you can publish a free version of the site in order to allow customers to see how the content will appear.

      3. In order to create an eCommerce site you will need to upgrade your site with the relevant, eCommerce plan. Click here to learn more about our premium plans. To learn more about the online store click here.

      5. Google Analytics allows you to track information including the number of visitors and page views, where visitors come from, how long they stay, what keywords they are using to find your site, and more!

To find out more information about Google Analytics and how to set it up, please click here.
You can also try the Web Stat or GoSquared apps from the Wix App Market. Click here for more information about Web Stat and here for more information about GoSquared.

For information about how to add apps from the Wix App Market, click here.
Important note: To use Google Analytics, you will need to upgrade to a package that allows you to connect your domain: "Connect Domain", "Combo", "Unlimited" and "eCommerce".

      6. Please see answer number 1. Also, please note that you can create member protected pages to allow only site members to be able to view them.

      7. You can create many sites under one account. You can also create multiple accounts, however each account must have a different registered email address and a different username. Please note that it is crucial for the registered email address to be an active one for different purposes including changing passwords or updating details.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions!

I am about to create my first website for a client and you are saying to have a separate account for them.  I just want to confirm that you are saying I should set up the account using their email address and password rather than my own.

      Hey,

Thank you for contacting Wix support.

If you would like to allow them access to the Editor and in addition purchase a premium plan and connect a domain, there are two options:

You can either start creating the site on your account and later on transfer it to their account or you can create the site on their account to begin with.

It is really up to you however, please note that premium plans cannot be transferred (only the site itself and the domain).

Please let us know should you require further assistance .

I created a website for a client, and I realize now I should have created a new account for him.  How can I "move" the site I created to a new account in his name?

      Hi,

You can easily transfer a Wix site from one account to another! This process will create a copy in the other account.

      1. Go to "My Account" -> click on "Manage & Edit Site" next to the relevant site.
      2. Under "Site Actions" on the right side, click on "More" -> "Transfer Site".
      3. Add all relevant information and follow the steps.

You can also follow instructions here.

You can also transfer domains purchased by Wix to another account. Click here for information.

P.S. If you want to use your own domain e.g. www.myname.com, please check out our premium upgrade options here.

Please note: It isn't possible to transfer a premium package from one account to another.

      Best, Ritti
