You can restore a prior version of your Wix site from your Site History.

To restore a prior version: Sign in to your Wix account > click My Sites > next to the relevant site, click Manage Site > on the right, under Handy Shortcuts, click Site History.

Here you can see an overview of all edits and changes that you have made to your saved and published site. This will make it easy for you to view, flag or restore to a prior version of your website at any time!

It's a good idea to flag and rename versions so that you can find them easily.

Note: The following components will not be affected when you restore a previous version of your site: Online Store, Blog, List Builder, and Apps

Note: You can also create a duplicate copy of your site.

To create a duplicate copy: Sign in to your Wix account > click My Sites > next to the relevant site, click Manage Site > on the right, under Handy Shortcuts, click Show More > click Duplicate Site.
For more information, click

I don't have a shortcut that says site history so what do I do?

      Hi jozuajudah,

      Thanks for contacting Wix Support!

Please note, the site history is only for the HTML editor.

Since your website is built using our Flash editors, the option is not available through "My Account".

Note that we can restore any of your saved versions for you.

I'v checked your "filmmaker" website, and found the following saved versions:

How can I edit the published website and delete the current website draft?

So I worked on a website for my mom and then decided to let her work on it. For some reason she messed up the layout and positioning of the text and what not. She only saved her edits as drafts, so my original efforts are still the published version. Is there a way to delete the newest drafts and revert back to editing what the current published version is? I can't seem to find out how to edit what the current published version is because there have been more recent saved changes to the website draft. I appreciate any and all help.

    Thanks,
    Josh

    Hi There,

we had one site being designed and created which had been saved, and then our domain got transferred over with the existing website and we lost the one we had been designing. Has it gone for good?

I can only see the existing one in our history.

Saved site earlier this evening but VIEW and RESTORE buttons won't highlight

Saved my site this evening at 5:31pm. This version shows in my history but it will not highlight the view or restore buttons. I would like to restore this version and continue working on changes. Why can I not select restore?

    hours of work not saved!

I'm very upset right now.  I worked on my website this morning, finishing it and getting it ready to be published.  I saved at regular intervals - as I always do - and went to preview it.  Nothing had been saved and the site was back to the way it was before I worked on it today.

Is there a way to fix this please?

      Hi,

I can see that you have many saved versions from today.

Please refer to the best reply above and take a look at your saved editions within the history tool.

      Best, Ritti

Yes, many versions saved today but when I tried to restore them, I get the Road to Nowhere message!  Bit pointless having a restore function if it doesn't work.  I was able to revert back to one from 8:30am, losing only SOME of the work.

I have saved and duplicated the site now so hopefully this issue will not recur.

Seeing that there are many posts on the topic, are you planning implementing a fix for this problem?

Please note that you have two sites updated today: copy-of-elephant4k and copy-of-elephant4k-2. Please make sure you are checking the correct Editor.

In case the issue persists, please outline the specific changes that were not saved today, while adding a screenshot depicting them.

For instructions on how to take a screenshot, please use this link.

To upload the screenshot, simply click on the "Upload" button and follow the steps.

Those are duplicated sites which I have saved SINCE the problem occurred.I have 2 copies of it in case the problem occurs again.  Seems to be a common and known issue that is not fixed.

I guess I will put the work in again on the site.

You can close this thread now.  I've not really gained anything I didn't already know from the answers provided.

      Hi,

I feel there is a misunderstanding here and I wish to help you resolve the issue.

I can see you have many sites under your Wix account.

Are you referring to changes to being saved on the site: ' elephant4k ' ?

I can see the last time you saved and published the site was on: 7/16/14 7:55 PM

Have you lost information since then ?

Please send us an example of a last update on your site which was not saved.

      Thank you,

      Dina.
