The Mobile Action Bar is an add-on layer that appears when your site is accessed by a mobile device. Once activated, the Mobile Action Bar will allow your visitors to navigate your site with ease and to contact you directly with the click of a button via phone, email or Social Media.

 

To activate the Mobile Action Bar: From the left side of your Mobile Editor, click the Add Icon > click Mobile Action Bar.

Click the toggle to turn the Mobile Action Bar on (green) > edit your Mobile Action Bar settings and fill in the information that you want displayed (phone number/email address/physical address/Social Media profiles) > click Done.

    Hi I'm trying to add the mobile action bar ... i have followed the steps but the mobile action bar is not displaying in the editor or preview .. can you help ?

      Please note that the Mobile Action Bar will only show up on the live site when accessed through a mobile device.

    hi,

    when my users access my website on a mobile device, it shows a loading message and our logo. However the logo is outdated. How can I change it?

    Why doesn't iPhone recognize the phone number

    iPhone doesn't recognize the phone number on a wix mobile site and so you can't simply tap the phone number to make a call.  How do we change this?  The point, after all, is to have people call us isn't it?

      Hi ch6360,

       

      Currently, it is not possible for the site visitors to make a call by tapping the phone number on the mobile site. 

       

      You can add your contact info in the Mobile Action Bar and activate it.

    Hi 

     

    The mobile appearance is not very nice. Whwn I try to optimize it manually it is alot of work because i have to do it for evey page. Is there an easier way to do it?

      Hi Lea, 

       

      I am afraid there is no faster way for editing your mobile site. The optimized view is created from the desktop version of your site. Your content, which is customized automatically, still has to be re-adjusted for your preferences. 

      We understand that this feature can still be improved and we are working on it. This is the first release of the mobile optimized version and we are constantly working on improving it and more features. 

       

      Please remember that new elements and changes that you make to your desktop site will affect your mobile site. Therefore, we highly recommend building and editing your desktop site to completion before editing your mobile site and enabling Optimized Mobile View.

    Hi, 

    Recently, I have discovered that neither of my two pages are available for the mobile platform. Although, I have activated the Mobile Action Bar for both (and in both cases it was working very well), since a few weeks my sites take forever to load on the mobile devices. The layer of the Mobile Action Bar is visible but nothing else (except info "Loading" and my page's logo). Can somebody help me to resolve this issue? Thank you.

      I checked both of your domains and I was able to access both using an iPhone. 

      Please let us know what mobile device and browser are using to view your site so that we can further investigate.

      Hi Adam, 

      Thank you for such a quick response. I was using Galaxy S4 (chrome browser) while performing a first test. After your post, I run the test again with the following results:

      Galaxy S3, "Internet" browser: both sites work

      Galaxy S3, Chrome browser: both sites work

      Galaxy S4, "Internet" browser: both sites work

      Galaxy S4, Chrome browser: (still the page is only loading), mobile layer visible

      Galaxy S4, Dolphin browser: both sites work

      Therefore, only the chrome browser on Galaxy S4 presents some issues. Not sure why it happens, but I am glad that my concern was answered in a prompt manner. Thank you!

    Phone number link

    I would like to know how to setup my page so that Mobile users can just click on the phone number and it automatically call that number on their phones.

    My problem is that I'm following the instructions to delete my current mobile site in order to activate the Activating the Mobile Action Bar™. But when I do this and go to Settings in my Site editor and there is no Mobile Action Bar™ option at all.

    All I see are the regular Site Settings options: General, Appearance, Stats, Extras, Site Optimization. I  already have a premium account so I don't understand why nothing is showing up. Please Help, I need my mobile site back. I'm using Chrome browser by the way.

      Hi,

      I can see that all of your sites are Flash sites, the Mobile Action Bar is an HTML5 feature only.

      Sadly, there is no way to restore the mobile site besides rebuilding it from scratch.

      To do so, go to My Account->choose the site->Add Mobile Site

      We also recommend you to consider switching your site to HTML5 in order for your sites to be compatible with mobile devices and future iterations of the web, as Flash is slowly left behind in favor of HTML technology.You can read more about it   here.

      HI Ilia, Thanks for the quick response. I considered that when I notices the Mobile Action bar wasn't showing up. I wish there was an alert or a button to tell me I need to switch to HTML5 for it to work. I remember getting emails about switching to HTML5 but I was too busy to do it at the time.

      I will be switching over soon now that I have free time.

    MAB does not show up in the Firefox Mobile Browser for me.

      Correction, it does not show up in the Firefox Mobile browser on my Galaxy S IV. It shows up on my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 in the Firefox Mobile browser just fine.

      It works on my end, so I wasn't able to replicate the issue. Please note that at the moment we are not 100% compatible with all mobile browsers and provide support only for the default Android browser and Safari.

    My site won't show up even though I activated my Mobile Action Bar. I tried several times and all I get is a blank screen on my Android device. Is it just my Opera mobile browser or something else..?

      I've just visited your site on a mobile device, and it loaded perfectly well.

      Unfortunately the use of our HTML Editor and the view of HTML sites are not supported in the Opera browser.

    If I switch my site to the HTML5, does my account remain the same, I see that I will be replacing my site with the new HTML5 site and want to make sure that everything as far as payment, domain name, etc., remains unaffected.

      That's correct.

      You will have to transfer your premium package and domain to your new HTML5 site, but all payments and premium subscriptions will remain unaffected.

      So when I follow those steps, the domain name will not automatically be linked to the new site?

      Hello

       

      The Domain does not automatically transfer to the new site, to convert  your flash site to HTML you can use our converter (below) I recommend not transfering anything (domain or package) until the HTML version is exactly how you want it as the conversion is not exact.

       

      Please read the following notes before submitting your site (you can find all the notes here).

      1. Keep in mind that this tool is experimental and may not export the site like you wanted, this tool is designed to give you a head start in converting your Flash site to HTML5 but manual modifications are usually required afterwards.

       

      2. Once the site you submitted is exported, a copy of the site will be created in your Wix account (similar name but starting with html_name) The original site will not be affected! Also any premium package/domain connected will not be effected unless changed by you manually.

       

      3 . Some of the features that are possible in Flash are not possible on the HTML5 editor at this stage. This means, things that are not possible in the HTML5 editor will not be copied into the exported sites.

       

      4. Please make sure to submit the Wix URL of your site regardless if its connected to a domain or not ( www.wix.com/username/sitename)

       

      5. Once your exported copy was created, you are welcome to post your feedback on this thread. Please include the URL of the exported site for reference (the original URL would also help)

       

      6. If you have a premium package and want to transfer it to a new HTML site you can do that. For more information follow this link
