Wix offers an amazing feature which takes your HTML site and automatically creates an optimized version for mobile view. You can then edit your Mobile site using the Mobile Editor.

To switch to the Mobile Editor, simply click the Mobile icon at the top left of your Editor. From here you can change the placement and size of your elements, hide elements from your mobile site, create a Mobile Action Bar and even change the style of certain elements, such as text.

Hi, I would like to know if Wix offers consultants who, for a fee, will make my mobile site look like my desktop site.  I have tried several times, and cannot seem to create a competent mobile site.  Oddly, before I even tried to shape a mobile site, my iPhone 4 picked up my html site perfectly.  Everyone was saying optimize the mobile view so I followed the instructions and though I did, and now my mobile site is worse than before I even paid it any mind by your mobile site editor.  Please advise as I am on a deadline for the mobile view.  Thank you.

      Hi @ ilike-ike,

Please note that you can disable the Mobile Optimized View of your site at any time. Disabling the mobile view will result in your desktop site appearing when your site is viewed by a mobile phone.

      To disable the mobile view:

From the Mobile Editor, click on Mobile Settings > Mobile View > and select the Pre-Optimized View. Publish your site for the changes to take effect on your live site.

If you require any further assistance in the future please don't hesitate to contact us again.

I want my mobile site to differ from my main site, users that use mobile phones want to get to the point quick. My website is appealing from a computer or a tablet but on a phone it needs to show the area's my business services, contract, prices and some images. Sweet and simple. Is there no way to make it different from your original site?

I don't want any laid out format though, I want to make a custom page. All successful websites have a well laid out mobile site it doesn't seem like you can truly customize a page to look great for mobile. For example www.brakecheck.com has a great website and a great mobile website. Mobile website are becoming used way more frequently and need to be laid out properly none of these tools are allowing me to do that with my site.

Unfortunately this isn't possible at the moment.

Feel free to add your feature request to our Wish List by posting here.

You can keep up to date with what features are coming soon here.

I would also like to point out that this is an entirely up to the site's designer as you can see here and here.

Just received an email informing me that I can now edit my existing free sites so that they are accessible on mobiles. Followed instructions very carefully but there is NO OPTION to select mobile from "Manage and Edit Site". Can only create a mobile website from scratch. What now?

      Hi Chris,

Please note that this option is only available for our HTML5 site's users and not flash.

With the new HTML editor we give you the choice between technologies as well as designs.
Deciding between the two platforms depends on your specific needs: HTML5 provides new technological capabilities and solutions for mobile devices that don’t support Flash, while Flash remains a strong visual platform with a lot of important capabilities that aren’t yet manageable in HTML.

If you do not have the mobile view option on your HTML5, please let us know.

      Thanks,

      Niv, Wix Support

Hi. I changed my mobile site to the new HTML5 version which looks great in the preview and I've enabled it and published. I also disabled the previous mobile version. But it doesn't seem like it's gone live when I test it on mobile devices. How long does it take to start showing up?

    The site is possibilityjunkie.com

How can I access my Optimized Mobile View?

It does not show up on my mobile device, it only shows the full html site.

Same happens if I use Chrome for testing and I change the user agent for instance to iPhone IOS 5. It still shows the full html site. This does not happen with my other sites on my own linux server where I detect the device and show mobile pages according the device.

We’re excited to bring you an amazing feature that automatically takes your website and creates an optimized version for mobile view. Click here for more information or watch the video tutorial below.

If your question is related to our previous mobile site solution, please note that the option to create a Wix Mobile site using the old mobile Editor is no longer available. If you wish to create a site which is mobile compatible, please use the method described above.

      Hi,

We were able to reproduce the issue.

FYI - the site holds an exceptional number of pages, so the editor assumes there is an error (due to the time it takes to save all pages).

But in fact (although the error pops up) the changes were saved.

Pls confirm or contradict our findings so we can assist.

      BR,

      Daphna.

    Hi All.

Since you are the ones which were most interested in our mobile offering, it is my pleasure to give you the opportunity to be the first to work with our brand new, soon to be launched mobile product.

All you have to do is to add to the end of the editor url (once working in the editor) the following writing:

    &experiment=mobileeditor1

click OK to leave the page (since it will refresh it), and notice a small mobile icon on the top left corner.

clicking it will open the new mobile editor (which already holds you desktop site content).

Make sure to get back to us with your most valued feedback regarding the process and the results.

    ENJOY!

    Daphna.
