The Optimized Mobile View is a mobile-optimized site which is automatically created for you from the contents of your desktop HTML site. After viewing and editing your mobile site in the Mobile Editor, activate Optimized Mobile View to direct your users to this optimized version of your website from smartphone devices.

New elements and changes that you make to your desktop site will affect your mobile site. Therefore, we highly recommend building and editing your desktop site to completion before editing your mobile site and enabling Optimized Mobile View.

To enable the Optimized Mobile View: From the left of the Mobile Editor, click the Settings icon > click Mobile View > use the toggle button to switch between the Pre-Optimized View (red) and the Optimized Mobile View (green).

      Hello,

      Thanks your help,

      www.duranworks.com

Generally images sizes in my sites 1024x576. The interesting thing, if I not active mobile mode,  all photos looks high quality in all mobile devices. When I change optimize view all images  quality is getting worse.

In addition, if I do not use the mobile mode, the phone does not fill the background  in the horizontal position. It seems half of the background .. So I have problem both mobile and without mobile mode.

      Thank you

      Hello,

You can independently modify your mobile site's background via the mobile Editor > design > mobile background.

As to the images, note that 1024X576 is clearly not the proportions with which you integrate your images in your site. Please use the side settings menu, and find the proportions in the live site at the bottom part, next to the letters w and h.

Then resize the images using Adobe Photoshop or other programs in accordance to this dimension.

Please let us know in case you need further help.

When I open the site on my mobile phone I mean in desktop version, The background picture works well in vertical position but in horizontal version it does not stretches, I mean it covers half of the screen not full of the screen.

You can always switch to the desktop view by going to your mobile Editor > mobile settings > mobile view > Pre-Optimized View.

Please specify the page name where you encountered this issue and attach a full mobile screenshot, so we can further investigate.

To take a screenshot with your Android:

You can do so by Pressing the Power and Home buttons at the same time will also grab an image of the screen.

To take a screenshot with your iPhone:

      1. Hold down the power button at the 'top' of the iPhone.

      2. While holding down the power button, quickly press the screen button at the bottom of the pad.

To upload the screenshot, simply click on the "Upload" button and follow the steps.

      Hi,

Okay  I have optimised the  mobile view and and gone live, which I did not want, because it looks so bad and jumbled. I think part of the problem is that on my desktop version, I have elements that are visible on all pages, and some elements that are not.

      Here are some screen shots:

The top one with the catering heading, and another without, which disappears every time when I try to resize an element under it, like text or a box/ pic. This happens to many elements, and I go around in circles looking for them, and just end up resetting the mobile layout, and start again. I have wasted many hours doing this.

I hope this makes sense, as I need to get my mobile site respectable asap as it is live.

      Thank you.

      Hi Kylie,

Please note the mobile optimized view initially generated by your Editor is usually far from perfect. It simply puts together all the elements from your desktop version site into a mobile format, further cosmetic appearance tweaks need to be applied in order to reach the best display.

This is instead of building an entirely new site for mobile. All you need to do is simply re-size text and image elements, you can also hide certain elements which you wish wouldn't appear on your mobile site. Click here for more information.

Sorry for any inconvenience this is causing, please do let us know should you require any further assistance with this matter.

Best Regards, Nati - Wix Support Team

      Hello,

Thank you for the fast reply.

I am not inconvenienced by the fact that the optimised view is initially not perfect and needs a bit of editing to get it the way I want it.

All I am say is that when I do the editing, headings, pictures and elements completely disappear not hidden! I have spent hours trying to get my head around it.

Please let me know if you need more screen shots. I already showed you the catering heading which completely disappears when I resized some text under it, or moved a picture.

Am I not being specific enough? Please let me know what I need to do or do you need more information?

      Hi,

As mentioned in my previous post, I have reset my mobile layout several times as too many elements go missing, and not hidden. This leaves me no choice but to reset the mobile layout as my main headings, reservation button, pics that I need are no longer available to use.

For example, see below, the top shot is after I try to add a hidden item and resize a black box below, the the shot after is how it did look before this, with my reservation button and Welcome heading in place. This is my home Page.

Please let me know what to do.

I'm afraid I didn't fully understand what it is you are experiencing. Are you able to make the changes to your site but unable to save? do you get any error message?

I noticed you have a lot of hidden items in the mobile editor causing gaps. To un-hide items from your mobile site simply go to the mobile editor > Add > Hidden items > Click the eye next to the items you wish to show.

      Hi,

I have had 6 or 7 different responses from different Wix helpers. And now Gat is telling she does not fully understand...

This does not help. Have you read my thread from the start?

      I will explain again.

Every time I make changes in the mobile editor, the changes that are made become jumbled, and elements go missing.

I know how to use the editor. I know I have items in the hidden tool. I have had to put them here because if I use these, it jumbles up the elements worse. I have reset the site many times because the site becomes so jumbles and messy.

So you can see what I mean, go to the mobile editor on the Home page. Scroll down to the first empty black box, and move it back up under the video.

If this does not show my difficulties, go to the Menus page, and scroll down and move the black box with the text beginning with 'reflecting...'

I hope this is more explanatory.

Please let me know where I can go from here.

      Thank you, Kylie

      Hey Kylie,

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Please note that the empty boxes move with the text and other elements since you were using it as a container in the desktop version, though it got somewhat truncated in the mobile version.

The text boxes and video in the homepage are contained inside the box, though not in an optimized way. Please resize all element that don't fully fit in the black boxes, and make sure the title "attach to box" is displayed when dragging the elements inside the box.

I have reset your mobile layout again, Please review the changes.

Another way to go about it is to avoid using the boxes and instead have your page background set as black: select the black boxes and delete them, then go to Design > Background > Customize.

Please let us know in case you need further help.

Ritti, I had fixed all that I could.  But if you navigate to the page titled "Fun Stuff,"  the first button should be LASER TAG.  When I edited that page, the ARCHERY TAG button was half hidden above the screen and I lowered it and everything else, but I cannot even get to the laser tag button to reset it.  I had to lower stuff on every page.  I'm not even sure if I am missing anything else at this point.

I do see an option to reset the mobile view.  Will that effect every page or just the page I am editing?

      Hey,

I have fixed this issue for you and saved your site. To find all the hidden elements in the future, please click on a random box on the mobile page -> use the CTRL + M shortcut to navigate through all the elements until you find the specific one.

Please publish the site so the changes will take effect.

      Thanks,

      Alina, Wix Support Team
