Hello , I have read many of the questions and replies related to templates and perhaps I missed the answer? So...I have started a template (unpublished) and found it does not meet my needs. I had to use a name to "save" the work and now I would like to delete that work and use the name on a different template. I know I have to enter the work manually, but can I cancel or delete the first template in order to free up the name I used on the first site? I would like to use that name on the second template...

Yes!  You can delete the site you have created. To delete a site: Sign in to your Wix account > click My Sites > next to the relevant site, clickManage Site > on the right, under Handy Shortcuts, click Show More > click Delete Site.

Note: Deleting a site does not cancel your premium plan or delete your account.

Hope this helps! Should you require further assistance, we will be happy to help.

      Thanks, Rony

I'm using the 'portfolio' gallery template so that I can have text alongside my images. the template has 3 examples, which I've changed to my images, but how do I add more?

      Hi iannader,

Thank you for contacting the Wix Support Team.

You can add an image to your gallery from the Image Gallery.

To add an image to a gallery:

      1. Click the gallery to select it.
      2. From Gallery Settings, click Organize Images.
      3. From Organize Images, click Add Image.

      4. From the Image Gallery, click an image or several and then click Add Images.

To select more than one image, hold down the CTRL key and click several images.

      5. From Organize Images, click OK.

Your image appears in your gallery.

Currently there is no limit as to how many images you can add to a gallery. However, we recommend that you don't add too many images to a gallery as it might make your site heavy.

You can find more information regarding image galleries here.

Please let us know should you require any further assistance.

hello. i've selected 'add page' and then in 'gallery' selected, out of the choice of 4 options,  'portfolio', which has boxes for images and boxes for text to the right of the images. the template has 3 of each of these boxes, and i've uploaded a slide show of images into each of the 3 boxes and added text. I want to add more boxes with slide shows and more boxes for text too.

      thank you!

This can't be done automatically. You will need to add the elements into a box, and then copy and paste each box.

You can attach any elements to a box including images, text, videos and galleries.

To add an element to a box: Resize the box or element so that your element fits completely inside your box > drag and drop your element into the box.

Note: Moving your box will also move all of the elements attached to it.

Note: Be sure to place the element within the box borders!

You can find more information here.

You might find that the list builder fits your needs better.

The List Builder allows you to create and manage lists on your site. Lists can be used to build product catalogs, FAQs, restaurant menus, news and more!

To add a list: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click List Builder > choose the list that you would like to add (existing lists will be available for selection here) > click OK > choose the list type > click Add to site.

Double-click the list to open List Settings. From here you can create or update list items, change the look of any of the fields of your list items or set your list options.

You can find more information and instructions about how to use it here or watch the video below:

I  hope this helps! Please let us know if we can assist you further.

      Sincerely, Leah Wix Support

Please clarify the question - you can use the undo option in the top ruler of the Editor, as well as restoring prior versions of your Wix site by following these instructions.

In case this was not your intention, please let us know and be as specific as possible.

      All the best, Or

To set your site's background: From the left side of the Editor, click the Design icon > click Background > select a background from the options provided or click Upload & Customize Background.

If you have chosen to upload your own background: From Customize Background, click Add Image > select an image from your media library or click Upload Images > click Change Background.

Can i remove anything related to an online store, on an online store based template?

I'm trying to create a website on Green clean site template.

I don't need anything related to the online store and prices.

Can i remove this option? I tried changing the prices to 0$ but it looks like it doesn't help.

You can edit any wix template and change it to your liking. To delete the online store you can select the product gallery and click delete. Then you can place the images that you want to display on your site in one of our image galleries.

To add a gallery to your site: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click Gallery > choose a gallery type from the list.

To add images to your gallery: Click the gallery that you added to your site > click Organize Images > click Add Images.

Suppose you have created a site using Template A, but you are not happy with it, so you wish to switch to Template B. Is there a way to do that without having to start from scratch? In other words am I able to switch to Template B without having to reintroduce my content?

    • Jonathan Wix Team

Replied by Jonathan April 29, 2014

No, there is no way of doing that once the site is saved from template A. You can of course manually change everything about the site but you just can't do it in one click of a button by choosing template B.

May I ask what are you referring to by: ' too large ', are you images look cut off?

Unfortunately, if your image size is bigger then the size of the gallery, the image will be cropped.

In this case, you will need to resize the images to a smaller size and then upload the images again to the editor.

You can use this site to resize your image.

Please try to upload the images in the exact size as they will appear in the gallery.

To check the gallery size, please use the ruler.

You will be able to find the ruler button on the top toolbar.

Author Shop template will not let me edit text.  I have tried from different directions, no luck.  Went on Home, Bio and Contact pages and not luck.  I know it has to be simple.  Is this template defective?  or am I?

    Thank you
