Currently, it is not possible to change the template that you are using for your Wix site. It is also not possible to combine two different Wix templates in one site, you can only edit one template at a time. You can vote for these features in this FAQ.

Note: If you would like to use a different template, you can create a new site with the new template. Once you have created a new site, you can transfer your premium plan and domain to your new site. To learn more, click here.

I built a site a few months ago and now I need to change the panels number on the template. How can I do it without having to redesign the whole site (or page)?

    Thank you.

It makes sense to be able to quickly change templates as businesses change.  I think we should be able to both change and combine template parts.  I'll need to change my website very soon and it means my options are 1: cancel my subscription and start over or 2: cancel my subscription and go to a supplier who will allow me to completely customise and change templates now and in the future.

Also, bring back page body parts!  It was a great tool in the flash version and should be there in the HTML.

    Cheers

Thank you for your reply.  I'm very aware that I can customize my site and do so.  What I can't do is quickly and easily change to a new template.  I would have to view the new template and try to recreate each element in my current site.  This takes time and just seems a little silly to have to do.  I've used other web building sites and changing templates is easy.

I've already spoken with customer service about page parts which are not available in the html editor (but were available in the old flash version).  I was told my vote would be considered for this in future update but that doesn't help me achieve what I want to do with my site.

Can I create a new page and transfer my premium account to that?  This would help to solve this issue for the time being.

      Thanks

I need this feature added! Having the ability to change my site's template without having to rebuild from scratch is a HUGE timesaver. I'm surprised that Wix doesn't support such a fundamental feature.

I need this feature added! Having the ability to change my site's template without having to rebuild from scratch is a HUGE timesaver. I'm surprised that Wix doesn't support such a fundamental feature. Trends in web design change rapidly, and we need to be able to keep pace. A site that's as stale as last weeks bread will be forgot by its visitors.

Please add! I vote a resounding YES!

Changing layout once site is published

Is it possible to change my layout once I've created the site, the theme and layout or would I have to start from scratch and build a new one? I have my domain linked from elsewhere.

      Hi seawitchfish,

Thank you for contacting Wix support.

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties.

You cannot change your template once you've stared using one.

What you can do is access a new template of your choosing and start creating a new site.

After this site is completed you'll simply need to transfer your premium plan and domain to your new site.

To switch your premium plan to another Wix site: Sign in to your Wix account > hover over Subscriptions > click Premium Plans > under the relevant plan, click Transfer > select the new site > click OK.

Note: Make sure to assign your domain to your updated site. After transferring your plan, underManage Premium, click Domains > next to the relevant domain, click Manage.

Under Domain Connects To, click Change > select the relevant site > click Save.

For more information about transferring your plan to another site, click here.

If you require any further assistance, feel free to contact us again.
