Author Shop template will not let me edit text.  I have tried from different directions, no luck.  Went on Home, Bio and Contact pages and not luck.  I know it has to be simple.  Is this template defective?  or am I?

    Thank you

Please clear browser cache (instructions here) and try again. Also make sure your browser version is the newest one available.

Alternatively try using a different browser such as Firefox. Tell us if these measures helped.

Hi guys! I am setting up a wix template for an alcohol brand and I need to put an age gate in the front in order to meet our legal guidelines. Does something like this exist in WIX or can I add an HTML form?

I would also like to add our own SSL certificate.

    Please let me know.

Currently, we don not have this kind of feature, however you can try to integrate external feature using the HTML app.

With the HTML App you can test and add your own HTML code to your Wix site.

For more information check out the tutorial below, or you can click here.

*Take a minute to read through the Known Issues & Limitations of the HTML iFrame/Embed App via the link above before using this.

Hi Wx Team, I'm trying to edit the 'Sea B&B Template' and have encountered a problem... I've uploaded new images into the Home page slideshow OK, but I cannot see how to alter the existing sample images that appear as a strip along the top of other pages. When I click on these images they simply appear as part of the 'Header', not as editable elements. How should I proceed? Thank you...

      Hey  biznessmain,

I can see this appears on your 'Contact' page. Please click on an element on that page and try using Ctrl + M to toggle through the elements on your page until the element is selected. This way you will be able to reach the items placed at the bottom part of your editor and simply remove them.

Make sure to click save and publish to view the changes on your live site.

Wow thanks that's a great help i saw many things in there i need. Also i have had not really trouble but just wondering if im making extra steps.

I was making a text box of what i wanted to call my links then putting a button over it to create my links. am i making extra work for myself or am i giving myself more options by having it this way?

i noticed that when i try to aline this stuff i was having a difficulty selecting both the text and button of multiple links in a row and evenly spacing them apart. Do i have to aline them one at a time or is there a selecting method that can get to highlight everything in a row. I was using the shift key; and trying to click all these almost identical  size boxes but i could never get all of them at one time.

i think i did a good job at evenly spacing them on my ABOUT page yet Should i just be making buttons alone? and is that limiting in anyway compared to the layering that im doing?

you dont have to be brief if its complicated to explain i'll put in as much time as it takes to understand it.

Regarding text which links, a better way than a button is to add a text box and link the text itself, you do so by editing the text, marking a word and clicking on the chain icon button which appear on the text supplementary box.

Alignment will not be an issue because you can have a large paragraph and link certain words within it and place spaces between lines. This will give the appearance of separate text object but between themselves they will always be perfectly aligned.

Your sit4e-building is phenomenal. Puts blogspot to shame. I hit a snag, thuogh. I want to highlight links as a hyperlink, obviously, so people can click to go directly to that site. I clicked the help button, which says to highlight the URL, then click the Link button that is supposed to pop up on the bar above, but nothing pops up. Right-clicking to select as a hyperlink, doesn't appear. Can you help?

      Gorgeous website!

I checked the hyperlinks on your site and they work perfectly. You can check them by going to the site Preview mode.

In case I misunderstood you, please elaborate.

Yes, I saved this issue, " clear cookie", that all.

We can't promise you'll be able to recreate your old site exactly, but our editor allows a lot of freedom in design and structure. I recommend you give it a try start with a blank template, and if you run into any specific difficulty in the process, let us know and we'll be happy to guide you.

What I'm most interested in achieving is a vertically stacked navigation. Can I do that using your blank template?

    • dan4228

      Replied by dan4228 February 19, 2014

Sorry, but currently it isn't possible to add a vertical menu.

What you can do instead, is to add buttons, place them vertically and link them to the pages.
If vertical menu is a must for the site, this workaround can be a good solution!

You can vote for this feature in this thread.

With the HTML App you can test and add your own HTML code to your Wix site.

For more information check out the tutorial below, or you can click here.

*Take a minute to read through the Known Issues & Limitations of the HTML iFrame/Embed App via the link above before using this.

Keep in mind that by adding external HTML code you are adding products and code that we have not tested or created in Wix, therefore our support team cannot answer any questions concerning the HTML iFrame/Embed App.

We recommend testing your code externally.

You can do this using sites such as the following:

The Wix App Market is available from within the Wix Editor. In the Wix App Market, you will find a variety of apps that you can add to your site that were created by third-party companies and individuals.

The Wix App Market is split up into several categories; an app may appear in more than one category. Clicking on an app will open a pop-up with more information about the app which may include an overview, a live demo and an overview of the app's features as well as information about the Premium version of the app, if one exists. These apps add new features, options and functionality to your Wix site! You can easily add these third-party apps to your site.

Click on the image below to browse through all of the apps in the Wix Apps Market:
