No, it is not possible to edit your Wix site while you are offline, or save your pages to your computer, as the Editor needs to be in constant connection with Wix's servers.

I was considering moving a site I've maintained for 6 years using Dreamweaver to WIX so someone else with no html coding experience can take over the site maintenance and weekly newsletter publishing, but if they won't be able to copy and paste the html code into the advanced editor of Constant Contact for the weekly emailed newsletter I won't suggest changing to WIX.

      Hello,

HTML code can be pasted into Wix sites using the HTML widget. We cannot guarantee that it will work as it is 3rd party code, but it's possible.

From what I've read in this thread there is no means of copying the html code from a WIX page.  I don't care about copying code into WIX, just out of WIX.  The weekly newsletter is published as an html page and pdf to the website, with the code from the html page copied and pasted in the advanced editor of Constant Contact so it can be widely distributed to members and friends.  I see that WIX has CakeMail as an app, but I don't see how the functionality ties into WIX.  If a page (such as our newsletter) created in WIX can be emailed using CakeMail, that will solve this problem.

      Hey,

Unfortunately it is not possible to add HTML code directly to the source code of your site.

ShoutOut is a new Business App which allows you to instantly create beautiful marketing messages to send to your contacts! Share eye-catching updates, news items, promotions, and more. You’ll be able to add text, images, videos, and links to your ShoutOut message.

To add the ShoutOut app: Sign in to your Wix account and click My Account > click Manage & Edit site next to the relevant site > from the vertical menu, click Add Business Apps > click Wix ShoutOut > click Add App.

To customize your ShoutOut message: From the left of the ShoutOut, under Choose a Style, choose the style that you'd like to use > Roll your mouse over elements to edit or delete them.

From the blue bar at the bottom, click Add TextAdd ImageAdd Video or Add Link to add any of these elements > clickNext.

To send your ShoutOut message: Under Add Recipients, enter your contacts' email addresses, separated by a comma or select existing contacts from the list below > click Add > click Next

Enter or edit the From name and From email > click Send.

Note: After sending your ShoutOut Message, you will see a confirmation which displays a link for your ShoutOut, Facebook and Twitter share buttons, and a preview.

To learn more about the ShoutOut app, please click here.

      Thanks,

No unfortunately Wix doesn't support the option of exporting files created using Wix to an external destination / Hosts as we host all your Wix creations on our servers.

      Best regards

    USB or CD copying

Hi Wix, is it possible that on the event of finishing your website- already created from scratch- can it be transferred onto a USB or CD to be viewed; i.e, can it be viewed elsewhere apart from my account? I need to know please before i start creating one for assessed assignment. Have a good day:)

No, unfortunately this isn't possible. The editor needs constant connection to our servers, it is not possible to work with it offline or save your pages to your computer.

    Hi markandreani,

As mentioned above, this is not possible since the Editor needs constant connection to our servers.

What do you mean by "the browsers I use hang when I drag pages to rearrange them".

    Thanks,

I'm finding that most of the browsers I use hang when I drag pages to rearrange them, making the whole process of editing (HTML version) painfully slow. Is there no way that you can develop an off-line editing solution?

    Overall Editor

Will we ever have the ability to edit the raw HTML of the site? perhaps even having wix allow you to host your own site aside from using the editor.

    just curious

    thanks
