If you cannot save your site due to a timeout error, please try the following:
While keeping your editor open, go to wix.com and log out of your account. Then log in again while keeping your editor open, and then try to save again.
 

If it still doesn't work, please wait a few minutes and try to save again.


In most cases this should resolve the issue.


Please post here if you still experience this issue after following the above instructions so that we can investigate the problem.

Our technical team is working hard to solve this issue, and we've made an attempt to fix this about 12 hours ago. If you are receiving this error, and your editor is open for more than 12 hours, I'm afraid you will have to close it, re-log to your Wix account, and try again.
 
If you are still receiving this error, even after loading the editor again, please provide us with the following information:
 
-When loading the editor, and simply pressing save (without any modification) does it save it?
-When making a slight modification to the website, and trying to save it, does it save it?
-Does it stop saving after a certain action you take, or after a time period?
 
Please make sure to answer all these questions when posting new replies here to make sure we can pinpoint and fix this issue as soon as possible.

We're terribly sorry for this issue and it is currently being investigated. If you've tried re-logging to your Wix account and the issue yet persists then I'm afraid that the current work will be lost. Please close your Editor and browser altogether and clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here. After doing so, please make a 'test save' - a slight change in your Editor (such as adding a paragraph) and attempt to save. Let us know if the error persists.

 

* To avoid future data loss we highly recommend that you save your Wix documents every few minutes while working on it.

    Error when Saving (12002) and (Timeout)

    I am getting two different error messages with attempting to save. Have received this since around 2pm after multiple attempts since then.


    An unexpected error occurred while saving your site data. Please make sure you are logged in to wix.com. If the problem persists please let us know by posting on our support forum (12002)

    I'm continuing to have the same problem....unable to save my site. "Error saving - Learn More

    I have not been able to save any of my work since purchasing this site. I'm getting very frustrated!

      I've since clear my browers cache....nothing has changed. This has been occurring since last week. How much longer can I expect to not be able to use a program I am paying for??

    timeout fix it

    it still do not save fix it now it is 4 out of 5 time it will not save

    I've been waisting my morning for my site and now, I can't save it!!

    I tried all your suggestions, login/logout, caches etc.. I don't want to lost all my work...

      Are you still encountering this issue after clearing your browsers cache?

      If so, please test this on other updated browsers in order to compere the results.

      Let us know how it went, which browsers and exact versions you've tested.

    Dear Wix Team,

    Please help me to fix this problem.cant save after editing.

    Details Below:

    1st issue I cant save after editing = "An unexpected error occurred while saving your site data. Please make sure you are logged in to wix.com. If the problem persists please let us know by posting on our support forum (0)"

    2nd issue = i think its a bug = when you double click the text box for editing title or paragraph there is always a attachment of small picture on the end of the paragraph.why?

      3rd Issue = What is this? this is on the back of LOG IN/LOG OUT PAGES ,first time i see this message.

      Still i cant SAVE ...error (0) error (Timeout) and first time i see even in WIX HTML Editor there is ADS. Is this is NORMAL?

      I do the step by step instruction.such as changing Browser all i try.

      Hi,

      Regarding your first saving issue - i'm not sure I understand - did you follow the instructions (clearing cache, using different browsers etc..)? Was there a change? If not - please answer the following questions provided here.

       

      Regarding your second and third issue we'd love to take a closer look, however we're not sure where to search what you're referring to.

    Error message when trying to publish website

    Every time I try to publish my website I get the following error message:

    An unexpected error occurred while saving your site data. Please make sure you are logged in to wix.com. If the problem persists please let us know by posting on our support forum (Timeout)

    Its been happening for a few days now and I really need to get the site online.

    I tried just saving without any changes straight from the template and a time out error continued to happen

      I found later that when working from explorer it would not save but was fine in chrome

    Save Error

    Wix continues to frustrate me when I continuously get a error message when trying to save the site after edits are made.

     

    This seems to be a constant problem.  Can you please explain why this is a constant problem?  I know all the steps to try and remedy the problem but none are working at the moment.

    We have been working for the last two hours and since the first 15 minutes we are having issues to save our website. We tried the instructions above without success. Please, we can't lose the work that we did so far. Is it possible to have an alternative solution?

    Why is it saying wix is "working on it?"

    My website changes will not save, which is frustrating because I've done a lot since I last saved. I click the "save" button and it tells me that Wix is working on the problem. Which is untrue. Why does it say that? That leads me to believe that maybe, just maybe, all my stuff won't be lost forever, which is false. It will.

    I opened the same website in another window, added an image to it, and saved. Then I exited out and went back in. Same image, still there. So I know that, for some reason, there is a bug going on with my website as it is now, not with wix as a whole.

    I think that when this happens Wix should make the screen say, instead of "We’re very sorry, but we can’t save your site right now. We’re aware of the problem and are already working on it." it should say something along the lines of "We're sorry that your changes cannot be saved for some reason. Please remember to save your changes every few minutes just in case this happens again."

    So why is it telling me that Wix is working on it? There is no way that my work can be saved now so there is nothing that can be "worked on." Or is there?
