Wix is compatible with Internet Explorer (version 9 and above), Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

With the new HTML editor we give you option to use the advanced HTML5 technology which entails new capabilities and solutions for your site as well as comprehensive support for mobile devices. However, HTML5 is still a relatively new technology and it not yet fully supported by all browsers. These browsers will catch up with this technology, but to make sure things run smoothly, please make sure to update all your browsers to the most recent versions. You can easily check how well does your current browser support HTML5  here.

To download the latest Safari browser for Mac please click here.
To download the latest Internet Explorer browser please click here.

1. Microsoft does not support IE9 on Windows XP. If you're using Windows XP, we suggest you use another browser. We hope Microsoft will provide a solution for supporting HTML5 in the Windows XP Operating System soon.

    Consistent page layout/formatting from computer to computer

    Why does page formatting look different, or off on other computers.  Is it the software, Windows 8 vs. Windows 7?  Is there a solution to maintaining consistency?

    Can I build a WIX website using my PowerBook G4?

    Hi there

    I need to choose a website builder, I have an Apple PowerBook G4 that runs on 1.67 GHz Power PC & uses OS X 10.4.11 and Safari version 4.1.13 - can I do it on this machine? Thanks!

      Hi there,
      Wix HTML Editor uses "HTML5", therefore please make sure that the browser you are using supports "HTML5".
      It is highly likely that older version of Safari such as Safari 4 supports HTML5 sufficiently enough to utilize all the feature Wix Editor offers.
      If it is possible, please update your browser to the latest version.

    I can navigate the site via IE, but I cannot navigate my site with Firefox or Chrome. What can I do to make the site capable of being navigated by all of the various browsers?

    aol not supported?

    why cant I open the domain website i create with you in AOL?  It shows up in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, but not AOL.  Does AOL not support your templates?

    cart not working on safari

    When using Safari browser, people cannot add products to the cart - why is this? how can it be fixed?

      Wix HTML websites use HTML5 technology, therefore, it is essential to have your browsers most updated at anytime in order for you and your visitors to utilize all elements added to your site.

    Please note that you can use the IE 8 detection widget Irene sent you and which informs your users to upgrade in case they use this old version of the browser. Please note that I have merged your thread into the thread in which you will always the most current updates on this matter.

    Wix isn't compatible with IE8 because it doesn't support HTML5 features. For more information on this issue, please read the article here. Please upgrade to a more advanced version of Internet Explorer, or consider using FireFox or Google Chrome.


    The HTML Editor is compatible only on IE9 and up (IE10 and IE11). If you have Internet Explorer 9 and you are receiving an error that your Internet Explorer browser needs to be updated but you already have the most updated version, please follow the steps here. To download the latest Internet Explorer browser please click here.

    does a wix site work on all internet browsers?

    hi there, 

    i've upraded my site, published it and changed the domain name... everything is all up and running and looks fine on google chrome.... but i've just checked it on internet explorer and it looks all wrong and the page is jumbled. i'm worried that some of our customers will still be using old browsers such as explorer/firefox/bing/yahoo.... and will just get a jumbled view of the website.

    My "Home" page won't load correctly with Safari, and it wont load at all with IE. Both browser are up to date. 

    Let me know how i can fixed it.

      I checked your site in IE, and it worked great on our end:

      As for Safari, please send us a screenshot of the problems you are encountering. 


      Finally, please go to this link and follow the instructions under 'Overview'. If you have done so and you are still getting the same results, please let us know.
