Wix is compatible with Internet Explorer (version 9 and above), Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
 

With the new HTML editor we give you option to use the advanced HTML5 technology which entails new capabilities and solutions for your site as well as comprehensive support for mobile devices. However, HTML5 is still a relatively new technology and it not yet fully supported by all browsers. These browsers will catch up with this technology, but to make sure things run smoothly, please make sure to update all your browsers to the most recent versions. You can easily check how well does your current browser support HTML5  here.

To download the latest Firefox browser please click here.
To download the latest Safari browser for Mac please click here.
To download the latest Internet Explorer browser please click here.

Notes
1. Microsoft does not support IE9 on Windows XP. If you're using Windows XP, we suggest you use another browser. We hope Microsoft will provide a solution for supporting HTML5 in the Windows XP Operating System soon.

    Live site only shows blank page on Interent Explorer

    When I bring up my live site on Internet Explorer it only shows a blank page.  It shows up perfectly on Google Chrome.  Any ideas as to why?

      If you are using an outdated version of Internet Explorer, it is possible that you would have trouble viewing your Wix site. I have merged your post to the relevant thread so that you can read the Best Reply above.

    Hi there,

    I have IE11 (!) and it still doesn't show my site right. :(

    Some of my clients choose to use IE - what can you do to help me help them?

    As you can see in the photos below, the toolbar is bugged, some of the the text is missing, The blog is not readable and when going into a blog post only the photo and the tags remain...

      Thanks for contacting us. 

      If you are using the Hebrew text with the Open Sans font on your site then you may experience a site loading issue on IE.

       

      The issue is caused by Google making changes to the font in use.

       

      We have approached Google regarding this matter and we will provide an update here once more information is available.

       

      For now, if you are looking to use Hebrew text, please refrain from using the Open Sans font.  Instead, please use one of our Hebrew fonts available to you in the text editor.

      I was unable to recreate this issue on Firefox or Chrome.

      I noticed that you're using the browser 'CoolNovo 2' which is currently not one of our supported browsers. I merged your post to this relevant thread. Please read the best reply above.

      Please let us know if this happens on one of our supported browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari).

      Hello, 

      I am afriad Coolnovo is not supported by Wix. HTML5 is still a relatively new technology and it not yet fully supported by all browsers.Please make sure you use one of the browsers are Wix supports. Wix is compatible with Internet Explorer (version 9 and above), Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

    How can I check browser compatibility

    Hi,

    I've viewed a website that I'm building on various browsers (www.transpireuk.com) and have been informed that on a Macair the navigation buttons don't work rendering the site useless. It was on the clients machine which has put me in an awkward position as they now don't have faith in the site. How can I check browser compatibility before publishing - is there any 'tricks' that ensure the site will work on any browser? And what can I say to my client as to why the buttons aren't currently working?

    Hi,

    When I view my website in IE, it loads fine but on chrome it changes the header, looks a bit bigger and formatting is all wayward. I have just purchased premium account and site is about to go live. What can I do ?

      I checked your site using the latest version of Chrome and Internet Explorer 11, but was unable to reproduce the issue - please clear your browser's cache and try again. You can find step by step instructions here.

      Hi,

      I cleared Chrome and Safari and still the same issue. The website loads fine in IE but in chrome and Safari, the header has scroll bars and the box in the body loads over the footer.

      There is some issue with website made in Wix loading in Chrome/Safari and I checked on different comps with latest versions. The same website worked fine in IE. I had to edit the original position and dimensions of header in wix so that it loads in Chrome/Safari without scroll bars. Yes, now issue is resolved but I had to edit my website. Wix team did not give me solution neither know as to why it happened. Wix teams has helped me on many other issues. Thank You.

    I am having problems with Chrome and Firefox, we already download the last version of both browsers in different computers but still wont working the links on the menu, this is the site: www.sanjosewellnesscenter.com  , do you have any solution we can do? the site works great only in Explorer, thank you in advance

      Hi there,

       

      Thanks for contacting us. The reason your menu wasn't working was because somehow it went behind the Pages section of your page (Your page consists of Header, Pages & Footer). I corrected this by dragging the header down beyond the menu, and then dragging it back up until it got stopped by the menu. I've saved my work, please publish it for changes to go live You can drag your header by clicking and dragging this:

    Trouble Viewing My Site

    I am getting complaints from clients that say they are having trouble viewing my site (www.playerprogressionacademy.com). Specifically, it seems as though people using the safari browser are having issues browsing through the site, when they click a link on the site, the page doesn't change even though the url at the top does change. Do you know what is going on?

      Please take a look at the screenshot taken from your live site below:

      As you can see, your site is up and running perfectly fine on Safari.

      It is highly likely that the reported issue is originated to the browser version which was used by your visitors.
      Please refer to the Best Reply of this thread and make sure that all 4 supported browsers are always most updated.

    Question about Browsers

    Does WIX work with old Safari Browser and Mac OS 10.2?

      Hi there,
      Compatibility with Wix HTML Editor as well as Wix sites is  determined by the type of browser as well as its version. Since Wix creations use HTML5 technology, it is required to use a browser that supports HTML5 in order to edit and view Wix websites.
      When you are using older version of OS such as Mac OS 10.2, 
      it is highly likely that it does not allow to install the latest version of browsers. 
      Hence, we strongly recommend to update your OS or use other computers.
