Wix is compatible with Internet Explorer (version 9 and above), Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
 

With the new HTML editor we give you option to use the advanced HTML5 technology which entails new capabilities and solutions for your site as well as comprehensive support for mobile devices. However, HTML5 is still a relatively new technology and it not yet fully supported by all browsers. These browsers will catch up with this technology, but to make sure things run smoothly, please make sure to update all your browsers to the most recent versions. You can easily check how well does your current browser support HTML5  here.

To download the latest Safari browser for Mac please click here.
To download the latest Internet Explorer browser please click here.

Notes
1. Microsoft does not support IE9 on Windows XP. If you're using Windows XP, we suggest you use another browser. We hope Microsoft will provide a solution for supporting HTML5 in the Windows XP Operating System soon.

    I am using Internet Explorer 11
    When I log to my wix site the home page doesn't apprear proprely. The problem is mainly with the top menu bat that displays only 2 menus instead of 4..
    In Chrome, it works well, but most of my clients are using Explorer, so I am afraid they see the wrong layout and they can't find their way to the right page because they are missing menu tabs..
    HELP PLEASE.

      Hi,

      We are sorry for the inconvenience.

      Please note that Wix is compatible with IE so it shouldn't be a problem. Please ask from your site's visitors the IE version they are using. If they are not using the most updated version of IE it might be the reason to this issue. To download the most updated version, please click here.

      I also recommend you to tell them to clear their browser's cache.  While browsing on the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict. You can find step by step instructions here.

    I upgraded to the latest Safari 7 Mavericks on my Macpro laptop and it will not open my website on wix or let me contact wix. It also does not support the various newer photoshop, Quark, Acrobat Pro that I use to create the paper. Please reconsider making this Safari upgrade a requirement of using wix. Lucky for me I did not load the program on this computer so I can still contact you. I will be running an uninstall on my laptop and recommend that wix wait for the bug free version of the update before requiring people using wix to upgrade their Safari. I saw an answer to one question similar to mine where it was said that you fixed the problems. That is not true for problems I list above as of Sun, April 27, 2014. Thanks

      We support Safari, though it is impossible to use the Editor on Safari versions 5 and down.

       

      It appears that you are about to reset your laptop, that does not enable you to load further programs, expect for the Wix site using Safari. Please keep us posted as to how things look like once you have upgraded and reinstall your Macpro laptop OS.

    I have designed 3 sites and love how they all look on wix, however a lot of people out there do not update browsers and a lot of my customers use safari and say they are having trouble viewing my sites. I tried on some IE that were older and the sites are very slow or do not show up at all. Is there a way to format my wix account to show up on older browsers I read the explanation that everyone needs to update to view wix sites, I cant control who updates and dont want to lose business because everyone has to have the most updated browser to shop with me.

      Unfortunately, it is not possible to view Wix sites on some browsers with older version. It is, in fact, out of our hands since the issue originates in how much HTML5 components each browser support.

      Also I've noticed that wix.com will show up well on these other older browsers.

      Thank you, I will put a disclaimer in the menu screen so people will know it is HTML5! And with time the browsers will catch up

      Yes, it is all depending on the contents added to your Wix site.
      However, in order to make sure that all parts will be displayed with the proper layout, it is best to use the browsers with most updated versions.

    internet explorer

    Hi,

    My customers are complaining about very slow activity when using Internet Explorer. Is WIX supposed to  be compatible with IE?

    Different browsers, different formatting

    I've just gotten started building my site with Wix and already running into formatting issues. The formatting of my page seems to differ from browser to browser, with Internet Explorer displaying the page as intended (go figure) and Chrome displaying the page with distorted elements. Is this a bug or something I'm doing wrong?

      I checked your site using Internet Explorer 11, but wasn't able to reproduce the issue - please clear your browser's cache and try again. 

      I have merged your topic into this related thread. As stated in the best reply, Wix is compatible with IE version 9 and higher. I was able to view your site using IE but please note that I have the latest version installed.

    Hello,

     

    I have another issue. My friends open the website: www.fingah.com with their comps.

     

    On me however, shows this on all browsers...

    What is the issue? Thanks in advance!
