Wix is compatible with Internet Explorer (version 9 and above), Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

With the new HTML editor we give you option to use the advanced HTML5 technology which entails new capabilities and solutions for your site as well as comprehensive support for mobile devices. However, HTML5 is still a relatively new technology and it not yet fully supported by all browsers. These browsers will catch up with this technology, but to make sure things run smoothly, please make sure to update all your browsers to the most recent versions. You can easily check how well does your current browser support HTML5  here.

To download the latest Google Chrome browser please click here.
To download the latest Firefox browser please click here.
To download the latest Safari browser for Mac please click here.
To download the latest Internet Explorer browser please click here.

You can also check out this site to see a detailed look at which browsers are better optimized for HTML5.

Notes
1. Microsoft does not support IE9 on Windows XP. If you're using Windows XP, we suggest you use another browser. We hope Microsoft will provide a solution for supporting HTML5 in the Windows XP Operating System soon.

You can see Microsoft's answer from their support here as well as a more in-depth explanation from their support forums here.

2. If your viewers use IE8 please find instructions here.

      Hi i70966,

I had no issues loading your site using Google Chrome:

The only thing I can think that is happening is that maybe you are using a slow computer and the site simply needs more time to load.

Please try to load your site again and wait even a few minutes if necessary.

Please note that if this is the case it is caused by a local issue on that specific computer, and not a problem caused by Chrome, as on our end it's working perfectly.

Please don't hesitate to contact us for any further assistance.

    Hey,

I was able to load your site from my computer.

If some people are not able to open your site, it's probably due to their browser.

Please read instruction in the blue box above and lear which browser are compatible with Wix.

    Hey Wix Team,

Just a forward note that I have NOT read all the posts here...

My site is having issues with the "Login" in two ways:

    1. When a user logs in under certain browsers, it drops them back on the home page rather than take them to the secure page.

    2. When a user is using IE9 or IE10, the log in doesn't even work.

I've mentioned clearing browser cache and history several times, but it doesn't seem to help.

    Please advise,

      Hi,

I was able to see your site on all the major browsers:

In Windows, the operating system caches the DNS lookup for a domain name, linking it to a particular IP. Once the IP changes (for instance, when you connect your domain to Wix), Windows looks up the cached information that it has instead of looking up the new DNS settings for that domain name.

Refreshing the browser, and clearing the browser’s cache will not resolve the issue. Instead, please follow these steps (for a Windows environment only):

      1. Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
      2. In the Command Prompt, type the following: ‘ipconfig /flushdns’

If you are using an Apple MAC environment, to flush the DNS:

      1. Open the Terminal. (Go > Utilities > Terminal).
      2. Type in the following: dscacheutil -flushcache

You can find more information here.

      Best, Ritti

I transferred my temporary Wix site to its domain (delvalhosta.org) last night, and it was up and running on Firefox very quickly. But today I decided to check all other browsers (Win 7, latest browser versions) and find:

IE 11.0.9600 loads the old site, even after clearing browser history
    Chrome 35.0: same thing
    Safari 5.1.7: same thing

At least that's better than earlier today (before clearing browser history), when IE gave me nothing but a white screen when I tried a force-refresh (Ctrl-F5). But I sent out an email announcing the launch of the site, and now I look like an idiot.

And I seem to have a spinning arrow hanging around when these windows are open.

I'm beginning to fear I have made a big mistake in choosing Wix.

And you expect me to instruct my members to do this? (That is, anyone who ever looked at the old Yahoo-hosted site?) Or is this something that will go away after a while, when Yahoo "forgets" that they hosted the site?

And what will this ipconfig/flushdns do to the browsers that DO work? I don't want to lose information that I want. Bad enough that I've already flushed all the cookies (with sign-on information to shopping sites, etc.) on Safari and IE.

      Hi,

      Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I seemed to have missed the fact you connected your site to your domain yesterday. Please note it takes up to 72 hours for DNS changes to propagate. During this time period your site will display differently (between old site and new site). Please allow 72 hours to pass and should the issue still persist, let us know and we'll further look into this.

Sorry for the inconvenience and my misunderstanding of the issue,

      - Daniel M, Wix team.

On the same PC, different browsers have different results? (And I'm not even talking about the horrible font problem I'm suddenly facing.) I need to be able to tell our members what to expect/do. And all with egg on my face.

O.K. I'll be patient. It's still not loading on my IE this morning, 36 hours after launch. Other computers open it just fine in IE, as do the other browsers on my system (although it doesn't look very good on Safari for Windows). I'm feeling less panicked today.
