1. If your domain is pointed to Wix by IP- Please contact your domain hosting company and ask them to remove the MX records that point to Wix.
2. If you are connected via Name Servers- Please ask your domain hosting company for the MX records and insert them here .
3. If you have purchased personalized emails from Wix, please follow the instructions here.

    Hi, I'm having trouble setting up my email... Not sure what the problem is and don't know where to get the answer..

      Hey, 
       

      To set up your Google Apps email account, please follow these steps:

      1. Click the Mail Boxes tab from Manage Premium and then click Set-Up next to the relevant email account.

      2. Type a primary email address and password in the fields.

      The primary email address is the mailbox of the administrator of this email account. In addition to an email address, the administrator will have access to the control panel of the Google Apps Email account.

      3. From the list of blank email fields, click a field to add another email address.
      4. Fill in the email and password as well as the first and last names of the user of this email address.
      5. Repeat Step 3 and 4 for the remaining fields.
      6. Click Next.
      7. From Step 2: Confirm contact details, edit or fill in the fields.

      Add your phone number in the following format: 00+ (country code) (city code) (your number)

      8. Click Create Email.

    I've just set up a free site. With contacts to be sent to my email address, but I'm not receiving emails?

    Email issues.

    Hello. 

    I purchased my domain through crazydomains and linked it to WIX no problem. I even set my personalised email up without issues also purchased crazy domains and initially set that up without issue as well. But over the last week it has been working on and off, saying it can't connect. I tried trouble shooting the best i could, then I called the DNS provider. They confirmed twice on my request everything is set up correctly in my mail program, on their server and even that the MX details on wix were correct ( as far as the information ii could figure out was good). Still, no email. Now it doesn't work at all, and my DNS provider is saying they've done all they can do, it's now a WIX thing. I have been through the help and troubleshooting tutorials, checked my records match up ( which they do), but still.... No email. So now, I have exhausted my technical support and I still have no working email.... the DNS provider suggested wix may not be pointing to my correct IP address and that I would need to contact them to correct it.... But ala, wix has no no contact.. only trouble shooting... 
    Still no working email... It's my main contact address and I don't really have an option of it not working... 

    Any thoughts?

      Over the last few days, Wix has experienced intermittent downtime due to several DDoS attacks (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack).

    IP Address Set up incorrectly

    My emails are not sending properly. I send an email and it is not leaving the Outbox and recipients are receiving the same email several times because the MX Records indicate the IP address is not set up properly. Please advise if you can fix the issue or I will be forced to change providers as this is interrupting my business badly.

    Dear wix,

    I want to connect my wix page with my domain, but not through name servers as I do not want to change the email provider (so that my emails would not work). My domain (and also email provider) asked me to give them some DNS A and Cname (or some IP address...) information and they will connect the domain to wix.

      Note: Google Apps for business have their own affiliated costs, and connecting these services to your domain is not a free service.If you are having problems with your current Email, please ask your Email host for the MX records. You can find step by step instructions here .


      If you purchased a domain from a different domain hosting company, you can connect it to your Wix site by following the instructions here.

      Once you have upgraded, we recommend connecting your domain name using Wix’s name servers. When connecting a domain to your Wix site with our nameservers, the domain stays at your hosting company and connects to the Wix servers NS1.WIX.COM and NS2.WIX.COM. This method transfers control of your domain records to Wix. These records can be controlled via the Domain Manager of your Wix account by you! This will also allow your mobile site to be automatically associated with your domain! In order to do so simply send your domain hosting company the following message: “I have built a site on Wix.com. Please connect my domain to their name servers- NS1.WIX.COM-IP address 216.139.213.90 and NS2.WIX.COM-IP address 207.36.47.9” .

      The other option is to connect your domain name via pointing. Pointing means that your domain host remains in control of your domain records. You will not be able to add, edit or create MX, CNAME, txt and A records via your Wix account. Also, the amount of support Wix can offer in this regard will be limited.
      If you still want to remain connected to Wix via pointing, please copy the IP you get here and send your domain hosting company the following message: “I have built a site on Wix.com. Please point my domain to the Wix IP: (add the IP you have copied) . This means that I will need three A records for www.mydomain.com, mydomain.com and m.mydomain.com pointing to IP: (add the IP you have copied)”

      After following these steps, please allow up to 72 hours for changes to get updated (propagate). If you are still having domain connection problems, try going through the troubleshooter here.

      DNS is the management of your domain – i.e. you use it anytime you point your domain to an IP address, redirect emails to your email host or connect different subdomains to different servers.

      Pointing your domain to the Wix IP means that your domain host retains control of your DNS and simply points your domain to the Wix servers.

      The difference between pointing to the Wix IP or connecting with name servers is really a difference in who has control over your DNS – Wix or your domain host.

      Please Note: Wix does NOT Recommend Pointing
      Instead we recommend connecting your domain to Wix using Wix name servers.
      Why?

      Down time when Wix IP changes:
      The primary reason we recommend connecting your domain to Wix using Wix name servers is that the Wix IP address might change in order to prevent your site from going down. This happens from time to time when natural disasters, server problem and other problems occur.
      In such events, domains connected to Wix by name servers will automatically have their DNS records updated. However, domains that are connected to Wix by IP pointing will not work until you request the new IP# from us and then manually make the changes with your domain host. This will result in a much longer down time.

      Less support & assistance: When you connect your domain to Wix by nameservers, we can offer support and assist you in creating any DNS records you might need. Whereas if you connect to Wix by pointing you would need to contact your domain host with any domain/DNS related issues.

      Feature updates must be made manually: We can automatically modify your DNS to accommodate any new feature that requires DNS changes (like WixMobile, and any other possible features that we might release in the future). When choosing pointing you would need to manually make these changes with your domain host.

    Dear WIX team member - I have my email with HOMESTEAD - I need you to adjust my MX records so I can use the email - I have tried to do what they said and now my website wont work at all - I have tried to contact you and that doesn't work either - this is not good customer service - I am in Australia and therefore need this fixed immediately pls.  Thank you.

    Our email that is linked to our domain is not able to receive emails but can send them out. This is the message response that I get when I try to email our account from another email:

    Technical details of permanent failure:
    Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain skylineconnect.org by mx1.emailsrvr.com. [108.166.43.1].

    Any help?

      Hi,

      The error message you're receiving is indicating that the domain actually redirects to the mx1.emailsrvr.com as it is set up to do and the problem is with the receiving end. Please contact your mail host and request further assistance - it is possible that this isn't the right MX record for your mail provider or that more records need to be added.

    I am urgently trying to get my email to work - I cannot send or receive. My host company, Crazy Domains, have advised me to ask Wix to do the following:

    1. Point the MX record of the domain to mail.micheledaleinteriors.com.au

    2. Point the A record of this to the IP 103.250.214.34

    Please adjust today.
