I would like to add to the Wix Wishlist the ability to change a list in list builder to a horizontal layout instead of just a vertical option.

    Thanks!

Entering contact data before a download

    Hello,

I have an Excel file on my Web site which people can download. However, I wish for customers to enter their contact information (Name, Affiliation and email address) as a prerequisite for downloading the file.

    Is this possible?

    A few quick things

    - Please let us know when the updates are due :)

    - Rows and Columns in the menu so that the more button can be optional or removed, especially useful for people wanting large menus.

    - Drop-Down Menus from buttons :)

    - Sub-Sub Pages :) Again very useful for especially large menus :)

    - More Member Settings; the ability for members to enter their name age gender location and maybe upload a photo so that they have a more personalised account, as well as being able to see their previous purchases with us.

Many thanks in advance for any feedback or information :)

I would like to DIFFERENTIATE the LAYOUT of my HOME PAGE FROM the REST OF THE PAGES. Currently, I have a side bar that is set to Show on All Pages. I do not want it to show on the home page. For emphasis, I want to show my project images in a way that they occupy the maximum width of the body area of the page. I have tried bring that image element on the home page (that shows all my project images) forward but it does not produce the desired effect. It's really strange that Wix does not have this very basic and most desired functionality ... I tried searching your help topics but haven't found anything yet.

    Please help.

      Hello!

If you want some element to be shown on all pages except one - you will need to copy and paste this element through the desired pages.

If you want to change the size of your images on your page you can simply use drag handles or you can setup width manually:

      Best regards, WIX Team

Hi Dart. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the solution you offered is not practical. We cannot copy and paste all the sidebar elements on all pages except one - HUGE site maintenance issues (we need to update the sidebar images every few days). I do know how to resize images etc, but that is not the crux of my question above. Wix needs to allow us to assign a different template/layout to the homepage... or some other way of making the above desired effect happen please. Thanks.

      Hey  pnijjar,

Currently there isn't an option to add a landing page.

You can vote for this feature in this thread.

We do have a workaround that might fit some of our users:

      1. Add a new page to your site (from the "Pages" icon button on the left tool bar -> "Add Page")
      2. Drag this page up so it is above all other pages.
      3. Add a button to this Page and link it to the next page of your website.

This page will now be your new landing page- so all you have left to do is to design it as you wish.

Please Note: The landing page is ready but objects may still show on it if they are set to appear on all pages, you can replace objects set to "show on all pages" by copying and pasting them on every page except the pages you wish them not to appear on.

      Thanks,

      Gill, Wix Team

    Mouse pointer?

I was wondering if you are planning to make it so we can change the pointer for the websites we create... It would be neat, and convenient for the different ideas we each have ^-^

Is it possible to have a search facility on the pictures from Wix page? It would help me not have to scroll through hundreds if i can search for a pic by name. Thanks

I wished that WIX would find an answer for disappearing content on in my page. I made it in two languages, so it's twice the same content but in different languages. And, apparently for no reason, something (image, YouTube film) disappears in one of them.  It's such a pity because I really love working like this and my page was set up in no time...

      Hey,

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We would like to assist you in solving this error. Which content disappears? Where is it located on the site? Please add each content individually, and not through copy/paste, and let us know if the error continues.

      Sincerely, Leah Wix Team

Is it possibly to have images change as you rollover or as mouse comes over the image.

For example, image is black and white with no mouseover, but then when you roll the mouseover and the image has color.

Like the ability to upload two photos and have the image change when you roll the mouse over the image and then back to the original when the mouse is no longer over that image.

PLEASE allow sub pages to have more simple URL's. i.e. listenuphenry.com/audio instead of listenuphenry.com/#!audio/ckgf. I am very tempted to find a new service because of this issue.

      Hi,

Your Wix HTML5 website is built using HTML5 and AJAX technology. This has many benefits, such as animations on your page transitions, the ability to have your background, header and footer stay static while only the content changes, the ability to use all of the new HTML features as they are released, dynamic page sizing, optimization for mobile devices, etc.

To support using this technology, the URL's of your website need to be built in the following manner:

      1. This is your domain name

      2. #! - This is called a 'hashbang'. The # signifies a 'hash fragment' and is the convention being used today to link to content when using AJAX technology (similar to anchors in HTML). The ! specifies the escaped fragment, which is what allows search engines to understand where the content in your site is actually located – this is because the content you're seeing on your site is being rendered via AJAX technology which means that your page isn't 'reloading' – i.e., when you switch pages, your header, background and footer all stay in place. The content actually does exist on the server- but at another address. In order for the search engines to find this address, the ! is used as the 'escaped fragment', which tells the search engines where to find your content (as they cannot really crawl javascript properly).

You can learn more about AJAX technology  here.

      3. This is the name of the page you're on. After this, the symbol / is what we use as part of the mechanism described in point #2. This is where we specify the actual address of the page on the server

      4. This is the Page ID which is the actual address of the page on the server, and cannot currently be changed. This is necessary because it tells the browser (and search engines) where to fetch the content from.

Important Note: In order to share links to your site you must use the full link above (1-4) including the Page ID. Removing the Page ID will yield an invalid link.

      Best regards
