It isn't possible to add a scroll bar to a paragraph for two reasons:

1. It isn't advised in modern web design.
2. It will not work good on touch devices, ie. iPad, iPhone. You should have only one scroll bar in your website, and it should be the site scroll-bar without inner-scrolls.

Please note that you can try to add a scroll bar by adding CSS to the HTML code. A tutorial is available at w3schools here
Also note that we cannot provide support for custom code that you are embedding into your website.

    If you are not pleased you are still within the 14 days from your initial purchase and can cancel and receive a full refund. Regarding a scroll bar, we do not have a scroll bar to offer you but we have pages to offer. In Wix sites the way to display a lot of written content in a limited amount of space is not by adding a scroll bar but by using pages. You can use pages and sub pages with a controller which flips through the different pages.

    Im a new wix user as of yesterday and switched over from Justhost. Im an elementary school teacher and I designed my own class website and when I was doing the "Trial" with wix I loved the look of the scrollbar option that was available just yesterday as I do "homework updates" for the month for my students and parents where I update homework everyday and I cant have every single day listed as it would make the page too long! I had the scrollbar on justhost and now I dont know what im going to do. I still have my 14 day trial and Im considering switching back to justhost.

    I read the reasons and I understand it but I dont care if its not ideal for iphones, ipads etc, as long as its good for computers for my students and parents then thats all I need. The option should be there for customers who don't want the scrollbar for their iphones and ipads and again, the option should be there also for customers who don't care about optimizing it for ipads and iphones. There's so many different customers out there with different needs such as in my case I require a scrollbar to simply my page for my students and parents. I really liked what I saw yesterday and now all of a sudden its not there anymore so please bring it back.

    Hi ellumine,

    I understand and will forward your and the other users request again to our product team but as written above, the reasons we gave above are the reasons we aren't adding them.

    We found another solution for users who still want it- w3schools. I am sorry if you feel it doesn't look good.

    Thanks, Nicole,

    PS- the tutorial suggested by many wix team members at w3schools is an UGLY scroll bar!  I loved the one on my old wix site--so sleek and cool looking

    :(

    YES, I TOO AM IN FAVOR OF SCROLLBAR OPTION!  It is very important to me that my main page provide new/updates/highlights, without dragging the entire page to the bottom, where my main image does not appear.  There has got to be a way to have it without going flash, right??!??

    Scrolling Text Box

    I would like to add scrolling text boxes to my HTML site.  Please enable this feature asap.  Until I am able, my site will never look exactly as I would like it.  Thanks.

    <div style="height:120px;width:120px;border:1px solid #ccc;font:16px/26px Georgia, Garamond, Serif;overflow:auto;">
    As you can see, once there's enough text in this box, the box will grow scroll bars... that's why we call it a scroll box! You could also place an image into the scroll box.
    </div>

    Here's a code for y'all to use. Go to "add" then go to extras and click "<html>". Change the dropdown box from website to html code.  Then copy and paste the above code in there. You'll h ave to mess around with the height/width dimensions both in the code and in the html box settings to get it just right. It was definitely worth it on my site- where I have about 30 pages each needing a scroll box. Hope that helped!

    Hi xiliafaye,

    You can find the reason for not providing this feature above.

    You can however try to add a scroll bar by adding CSS to the HTML code. A tutorial is available at w3schools here

    Please note that we cannot provide support for custom code that you are embedding into your website.

    Thanks, Nicole,

    Could really use a scroll bar. Having a huge page filled with texts outside the parameters of my page design is really lame :/
