You can edit any of the text on your site by double-clicking the text box.

 

To edit text: Double-click the text box > begin typing or edit the text in the text box > format your text using the options in the text editor bar.

    Wix.com could be a wonderful site but for some reason

    you simply refuse or do not know how to fix the issue

    of double clicking on the text box to bring up the tool palette

    above the text box. If you could fix that 1 problem and make it

    universal for most recent browsers think of the time and money

    saved not having your help staff try and figure out the fix.

    How come CafePress doesn't have this Text Edit issue?

      Actually I just quit all applications and then restarted my iMac

      and when I went to Account/Edit page I was able to double-click

      on a text box and get that beloved tool pallet above the text box.

      So now I love Wix.com again. Later today, when I can't edit text ...

      Who knows.

    Every time I edit a text, "WebRep Overall Rating" shows up in my text box with some lines, and whatever I do I cannot get rid of them. I delete it, then save, but it magically shows back up again. How do I get I get rid of it for good?

      It appears you have some sort of add-on or a tool bar that is causing this issue.
       
       
      Do you have AVAST Webrep installed in FireFox?
       
       

      To remove you need to open the avastUI, Additional Protection, WebRep, and click uninstall for firefox. Then restart your browser.

    I'm trying to edit my text...

    I have double clicked on the text box and tried the "edit text" but nothing is happening.... I have added a lot of text the problem just started today...

      Hi,

      When you are referring to " a lot of text" you mean in that specific instance? Are you able to add other text?

      Please be sure to copy and paste the text to a notepad first- and then paste it to the editor. That way you strip the text from unnecessary coding.

      Please elaborate so we can resolve this issue with you :o)

    I have problems editing text. when I click on the "edit text" everything gets white and there is no text to edit. what do I do?

      I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing difficulties with your Wix Editor. Please note that I checked your Editor and was able to edit text without experiencing any difficulties. 

       

      Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.

      Also, try using a different browser to see if there is any difference.

      If this does not solve the issue, please contact us and let us know what steps you've taken.

    I edited a few pages then finished for the night and since then I havent been able to edit or add any text boxes.  Im using safari on my mac but dont know what to do now.

      I checked your Editor, however, I was not able to recreate the issue and was able to edit/add text (see screenshot below).

      Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.

      Also, try using a different browser to see if there is any difference.

    I am also having errors with the text box, I cannot edit any of the text by dbl clicking on it. I am using the sugg safari browser… no luck. A real bummer I was going to sign up but...

    I have never had a problem editing my site until NOW. Same issue as the previous posters---cannot edit my text. This is very frustrating and the canned responses of trying a new browser, clearing cache, etc. is not helpful and adds to the level of frustration. It is obviously an issue on your end and it needs to be fixed, not passed along to your paying customers.

      I am sorry to hear that you've been experiencing difficulties editing your text. 

      Are you not able to Edit your text at all? Every time you open the Editor?

      Could you please provide us with a screencast of the problem so we can try to pin-point the cause? You can use www.screenr.com.

    hi

    I have done most of the web page, and put it out for the public, a responds has come back liking it and suggested I edit and delete some text. Also add some more photos to my main page, but it stopped allowing me to do so. Why did it do that?

      Currently you can upload these files in the HTML editor:
      Images:  .gif, .png & .jpg via "Add" -> "Image" -> "Change Image" -> "Upload Image".
      Video: via Youtube or Vimeo -  "Add" -> "Media" -> "Video"
      Docs: doc & .docx, .xls & .xlsx, .ppt & .pptx, .odt, .pdf and .odf .

    This MIGHT help.  I'm on Mac Powerbook, Intel core 2 duo, OS 10.6.8, and was using current Firefox browser 26.0 to create my wix site.

    I was having all the same issues with not being able to edit text: couldn't double-click to access, couldn't access via 'edit text' button, getting frustrated and double-clicking faster and like 27 times didn't solve it either, oddly.

    Tried the cache clearing...nada.  Tried the pop-up blocker suggestion...nada.  Tried the 'bring to front' suggestion and that didn't help me either.

    Tried opening the page in Safari 5.1.1 and voila!  I'm editing text.

      You may also reach the text box by clicking Command+M until you get to the object you desire.
