    Hi there,

I am getting very frustrated with WIX HTML5 editor. A while back I build our company website without issues. Now, trying to edit text it all goes unpredictable. I double click to edit and font changes and/or colour changes unpredictably. trying to change the font, style and/or colour sometimes works, mostly not.

No change whether I reset the browser, change the browser (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox), clear cause or what have you. I am scared to change anything on my site by now as I never know what is going to happen and whether I disrupt my layout!

    Hi Wix,

I added a gallery to a page on my site. But now I cannot navigate to the text behind the gallery. You cant see what the text box says and it looks bad. How can I get behind the gallery to edit what was already there?

And I just figured it out, I moved the gallery over then I was able to click on the boxes in the background and delete them.

      Thank you! :)

Hi - I am having trouble editing the text on our mobile site.  Please see the join our campaign page - the text flows off screen.

Also we are having issues with viewing our site in google chrome - text and buttons shift and overlap.

    Looking for assistance.

I have noticed you currently use the Pre-Optimized View rather than the more recommended Optimized Mobile View. Converting to the recommended mode can save a great deal of hassle.

Please go to the mobile Editor > Mobile Settings > Mobile View > Optimized Mobile View.

A mobile-optimized site is automatically created for you from the contents of your desktop HTML website. After viewing and editing your mobile site in the Mobile Editor, activate Optimized Mobile View to direct your users to this optimized version of your website from smartphone devices.

New elements and changes that you make to your desktop site will affect your mobile site. Therefore, we highly recommend building and editing your desktop site to completion before editing your mobile site and enabling Optimized Mobile View.

Hi Or.  Thank you but this has not solved our issue.  The text is still running off the app please look at our Join our campaign mobile page.  Can you see this or how can I send you screen shot?

ALSO our desktop site has a lot of issues.  The placement of all buttons and videos etc is fine when viewed in mozilla firefox BUT it does not work in Explorer OR Chrome.  please see this link or if you can provide me with a way to send you a screenshot I will http://www.defeatdepression.ca/#!about/mainPage

The link above is just one example of many pages that have the same issues.

      Thank you for your help

Regarding the first issue - please note that while copying texts to your Wix site, they can bear alongside with them external codes that affect the text alignment and appearance.

Please copy your text to notepad, then recopy and paste it again. I have tried it and the issue was solved. All you will have to do next is readjusting the links and text style customization.

In regard to the difference between the browsers. please note that Wix HTML5 websites are optimized to display properly for the most common browsers and devices used today. However, it's important to note that the various browsers and devices use different rendering engines, and therefore may display minor differences in your website.

Sometimes these minor differences can have a domino effect- for example, a 1% difference in rendering of a font size, can cause a line with only 20 characters to appear 1/5th of a character wider. If your text box doesn't have any extra room for the text, this may cause the last word to wrap to the next line, which will make your text box longer and will 'push' the rest of the components under the page down (By the way, if you experience this issue, it's really easy to solve- you just need to make the text box a little bit wider in your editor to allow for extra space so that the text will still fit, even when it's rendered wider).

The web standard is still evolving, and it's important to keep up with the newest technologies and standards. That's why Wix is at the forefront of HTML5 website development.
We are doing our best to minimize the effects caused by the aforementioned factors, while continuing to provide you with the flexibility to create the most amazing website on the web.

For the time being, however, there is a work around that should help to reduce some of the alignment issues you may be experiencing. By placing misaligned content within a ‘container’, you are securing several different items within a single shape. Items within a ‘container’ are locked into position and so will not appear to move on their own accord and/or knock other items out of alignment.

Use a Box that is set to appear as transparent (by moving the opacity down to 0) as your ‘container’. Place all of the various components within this Box so that they are ‘attached’ to it. Once within their container, these items are essentially grouped together and will not fall out of alignment.

I have trouble editing my text, because when I click on edit text, the box is white and I can see, change or write my text.

My site is http://www.emiliekleding.com/ and it's a problem on all my pages (besides the blog page). Really hope you can help!

I was unable to recreate the issue on my side. Please make sure that the font color is set to a color that will show against your white background.

Should this still be an issue - please contact us again. Thank you!

Wix.com could be a wonderful site but for some reason

you simply refuse or do not know how to fix the issue

of double clicking on the text box to bring up the tool palette

above the text box. If you could fix that 1 problem and make it

universal for most recent browsers think of the time and money

saved not having your help staff try and figure out the fix.

How come CafePress doesn't have this Text Edit issue?

Actually I just quit all applications and then restarted my iMac

and when I went to Account/Edit page I was able to double-click

on a text box and get that beloved tool pallet above the text box.

So now I love Wix.com again. Later today, when I can't edit text ...

      Who knows.
