To add a text box: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click Text > choose the type of text you like to add (Title or Paragraph).

To edit the text, double-click the text box and start editing.

Note: You can change the color, font, size and much more from the toolbar at the top of the text editor.

Note: We recommend to copy and paste external text to notepad first. Notepad strips the text down to 'Plain Text'.
Once the text has been placed within Notepad, it can be transferred to your website. Issues such as not being able to change fonts and colors after pasting the text should then be resolved.

I know how to edit the site but every time I hit edit nothing happens and it takes me to list settings. When I click on item, it takes me to the list I have so I hit the item I want to edit in the filter box but when I hit the edit button nothing happens.

I am trying to copy and paste text that was saved in a basic text format, as suggested, but I am not having any luck. I'm not sure why, but I am not given the option in the larger box... however, the title box does allow copy/paste. I am going to be disappointed if I have to type all of my files over again. I have followed the instructions. Help?

I visited your editor and I was able to paste text inside a text box.

Please mark the text you are trying to copy and then use Ctrl + C to copy the text and then, click on the text box and press Ctrl + V  to paste the text inside the text box.

Please contact us if this issue persist.

I'm not quite sure what you meant by "download it as a text page".

If you want to add a word or a PDF document, please click add --> media --> document.

After you do that, you can choose the icon in the same menu, under "change icon".

I have a text box that has a lot of empty space below the text. I am sure there are no spaces there. When I try to drag the bottom of the box up closer to the bottom of the text, it bounces back. What am I missing?

Thanks, I have taken care of it by deleting it and starting over. It seems that if you delete some text from a text box you cannot "shrink" the box down to fit the new amount of text. Easy enuf to work around though.

Hi, I want to add a different line of text to each photo on the slideshow on my homepage: http://hotzonebounce.wix.com/hotzonebounce

At the moment, it's just the one line: Get Fit, Lose Weight, Have Fun, but I want a different sentence to go with each picture with that kind of font, size etc - am I able to do that?

    Thank you,

      Hello Carly,

You can add a title and a description to each of the photos in your gallery.

Click on your gallery > Organize Images, for each photo you have a box of title and a box of description, you can fill either one or both and they will appear on your picture.

Unfortunately it's currently impossible to add different fonts to different images.

You can vote for this feature here.

In order to change the font and color of the text in your gallery, click on your gallery > Settings and at the bottom of the strip you can set the font and color of the text.

Please let us know should require any further assistance.

Thank you - what I want to do is have a different phrase on each photo and the font and colour can be the same for all of them, but I wanted to make the writing bigger like what I have there at the moment. Is there a way to do that or are the title and description sections set and not able to be changed? I wanted to have the writing basically exactly how it is on the homepage now but as I said, a different phrase with each photo of the slideshow...

Changing the title of the images might solve your problem.

To do so, click the gallery to select it > from the pop-up menu, click Organize Images > click the relevant image > under Title add the title.

Note: The title added to the images in your gallery will be used as the alt tag for these images.

You can find more information about galleries  here.

There is another option - adding caption to your photos before uploading them to the gallery.

We are here should you require any further assistance.

I am adding a text box and within the text box I want to make a list. I want this list to either be columns or could use tabs such as in Word to make the list appear to be in columns. Not a table just a list of 10-12 items that doesn't take up 10-12 lines but 5-6 instead. I can not figure out how to do or a work around. Do you have suggestions? Is the only way to do it, to make 2 text boxes?

Replied by Or June 28, 2014

The best way to achieve what you want is to make two text boxes, as you've suggested.

Simply create a text box, and once you've created your text, duplicate it and place it next to the original one, while using the snap feature for seamless alignment.

All the best, Or - Wix support team.

I've been tasked to make revisions to the mobile site according to the desktop site.

I need to revise text for homepage, create a page for the registration form (presently a link), create a new page for the registration form, and add a link to the registration form from the Current Program Page.

    Please advise.

    Thank you

      1. To modify and existing text box, simply double click it. This will allow you to edit the text.

      2. I see you've already created a new page for the registration form.

To add a page: From the left side of the Editor, click the Pages icon > from the bottom right of Pages, click Add Page > under Page Layouts, choose a layout > under Name Your Page, enter the page name > click OK.

For more information on organizing your pages, click here or check out our interactive site about header, page and footer (simply click on the image below):

      3. You can use one of the apps in the App Market to display an online registration form on your site!

Simply add one of the following apps from our Wix App Market:

      1. Add the 123FormBuilder App to create web forms and surveys as easy as 1-2-3.
You can also contact the developer, 123ContactForm, at any time!
      Email: support@123contactform.com
      2. Add the POWr Form Builder to create fully customized forms for surveys, polls feedback or any purpose.
You can also contact POWr at any time!
      Email: support@powr.io
      Website: POWr.io
Click here for general instructions about how to add an app from the Wix App Market.

      4. To add a link, you can either select text within a text box, and click on the hyperlink button to link it to a different page, or add a button and link it to the page of your choice.

To add a link to a word/text ,please follow these steps :

      1. Select the word in the paragraph and choose the "Link" icon from the property panel that opens.
      2. Choose "Web Address".
      3. Insert a web address, choose if you would like it to open in a new window or in the same window and click on the OK button .

Add a button to your site and link it to an external site, a page on your site, a document, an email address or an anchor on your site.

To add a button: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click Buttons & Menus > click Button.

Click the button to select it > click Settings > under Button Text, enter a name for your button > under Link to, click the field > choose a link type > add the relevant information > click OK.

We have edited your site's text successfully. Please clear browser cache (instructions here) and try editing again. If this does not work you can try editing while using a different internet browser, Firefox or Chrome should do the trick.
