    I searched this topic because it's a massive problem when designing a site. I was going to use Wix for our site but now I'm not keen to because of this as the colours don't site well with our site. I was hoping as the topics I saw on this were old that it was something that had been addressed. I can see that it hasn't for over a year and that seems to me that Wix are not going to do anything about this. Very disappointing and such a basic requirement.

      A way to circumvent this issue is to use an image, a transparent image of text can link (because it is an image) and then it will not change color after it was clicked and linked, it can of course have any color you choose.

      Thanks Jonathan. How do I do this? A friend has a website with the right colour links for their site www.balsamodeighton.com and that was done via Wix. How did they do this? I am confused that I can't do this and they can.

      Hi devonbadgergroup,

      What Jonathan was referring to is creating an image of a text with a transparent background in an external software (for example PowerPoint) and adding it to your Wix site. After adding the image, link it to the relevant location by following the instructions provided here

      Hi Gat,

      Thank you! However, when I preview my site the links show up as blue underlined and then purple underlined for a visited link. It's this I want to change. It looks okay in the editor but when I preview it's changed again. Is there no way to change this? :(

      Interestingly, the white links stay white in the Footer. Why is this?

      I checked your site's editor and was able to change the links' color in the Footer, as you can see here (this is a screenshot of the Preview mode):

      Hi Tal, thanks for this. I actually wanted all the links to be white underlined and stay that way. I can do this in the Editor but when I preview the links all go blue and visited links go purple. I didn't want these colours. But I believe this is not something I can alter? And yet my friend's site has this on it - the one above www.balsamodeighton.com. How is this please? What am I doing differently?

      Please note that I visited your editor and was able to change the link's font to white, and it remained white after I published the site.

       

      Please make sure to highlight the links in the Text Editor, and change the text's colors to white (NOT default), as seen here:

    editable styles for links

    I would like the appearance of links to be editable as a style. It's basic CSS that i can choose universal rules for the text color of my link before and after it's clicked, whether it is underlined etc.  This is so basic that i was shocked that WIX doesn't off this and the "solution" I'm being given is to edit every link on my website manually.  pleads add this simple feature as soon as possible!

    This is one huge hole in an otherwise very flexible web build tool.   Definitely could use it like right now.

    Im "voting" for this. Its is basic CSS to be able to edit the color and style of your links (to match the sites branding) i cannot believe this isnt included. it makes an otherwise very sleek website look clunky and outdated when i cant control the way the links look (without hand editing every single one as was suggested to me by tech support - comon that has to be a joke!)

    Nobody really can publish a serious, professional web site without that basic "peanut feature" - they just don't care about their clients. They use something different for their own web site. They know why.

    As has been stated by others this seems to be very simple request. All color for text elsewhere is easily changed, but not so for hyperlinks. I've had clients ask can the 'underline' be something other than black.

    This is clearly something to be updated sooner than later. Voting for the update. Thanks

    Forget it – this issue has been outstanding for over a year now and Wix are obviously never going to do anything about it. Introducing a standard hyperlink blue colour to the HTML5 Editor’s palette is apparently also too much to ask and no one should have to ‘vote’ for something this fundamental anyway.

    Wix seem to be very adept at offering complex, bespoke solutions to problems that wouldn’t arise if their software simply worked properly. But it doesn’t: Whilst trying to get my new HTML5 site online, I identified a serious problem with the HTML5 Editor. Despite finally admitting that this problem was at their end, despite months passing in the interim and despite the financial loss this is causing me by not being able to further develop my website to include an ecommerce solution, Wix has done nothing to fix this problem and now refuses to even reply to my messages.

    If you’re planning to proceed with designing a site in HTML5, there are two things you may need to know:

    1. Mp3 files can only be heard when using certain combinations of browsers and operating systems – if you happen to be using the wrong combination, you’ll hear nothing.
    2. Preview and View Site produce different results when they should produce the same. In Preview mp3 files cannot be heard, whilst in View Site the mp3s that can be heard are from an older version of the site that have since been replaced without these changes being saved. Either version is useless.

    So, I vote for the following feature to be added: www.wixiscrap.com

    An open-source website where everyone else who is fed up with paying this bunch of amateurs for a service they can’t actually provide can upload and share their email conversations, rants and fruitless correspondences.

     

    May I have your votes for the www.wixiscrap.com feature please?

    when can we expect an answer?

    Hi. i'm hoping you can put me in touch with someone who can help. I posted a question a while ago but have received no response. Hundreds of others have asked the same question. Can you tell me when we expect WIX to respond. It is regarding changing the colours of the hyperlinked text and the underlined colour and text. Please would you keep me posted about this. Thanks.
