Please make sure that you have added your personal Facebook Account username (and not your Business page username) under the Social Settings section of your Wix account.

 

To add a Facebook username: From the left side of your Editor, click Settings > click Social Settings > under Facebook Username, type your username > click Done.
 

Facebook may take some time to process your site information. If you post to your Wall directly and the information is not up to date, use Facebook's Debugger here. Simply type your website URL in the Input URL or Access Token field and click Debug. The Facebook Debugger will process your site so that the title, description and thumbnail pictures appear up-to-date when you post your site to your Wall or Page.

 

Note: The Facebook API only works with personal Facebook account usernames. Any features related to your Facebook Page (sharing your website on Facebook, managing comments, likes and etc), require administrator identification on Facebook. The owner of the page will be set as the administrator of all the pages he has, which is why the personal Facebook username is required.

This information is not displayed to users who visit your site, it is only for the purpose of Facebook admin related functions.


Note: The user name is not your name on Facebook, it appears in the location bar of your browser after "https://www.facebook.com/" when you view your personal Timeline page.

    I have changed my seo site name and description but not

    Even though I have changed my seo site name and description when I have tried to promote my site with facebook friends, I type in the domain and my old site name and description appears on the fb message instead. (eg real deal)

    how to update picture on facebook share icon

    I have gone through social settings and uploaded a new thumbnail but when I share the website htrough the share icon the old picture is still being displayed. I have also changed the favicon picture. why is old picture still showing. please help me to update this icon. don't no what else to do

    facebook share icon not changing picture

    I am trying to update the picture on my facebook share icon but even though I am going through the correct motions the picture remains the same. Please tell me how to change it. I have gone through social settings and uploaded a new thumb nail. this isn't working

      Thank you for contacting us regarding this issue. I have merged your post into a relevant thread. Are you referring to how your thumbnail appears when you try to share a link of your site?

       

      As explained in the best reply above, Facebook doesn't always recognize changes that are made to a site. I used the Facebook Debugger tool to fix your issue.  You can find the tool here.

       

      Using the debug tool, you can simply enter the full URL , and click "debug". Go back to your site, and try to share the link once again. You'll see in the thumbnail that the information is now correct.

       

      Please let us know if you are experiencing a different issue regrading your thumbnails.

    Wont work for me either. Did at one time but not today.

      Also the debugger shows correct image, but not the one being used by FB...

      I have not been able to recreate the issue:

       

       

       

      As you can see, the two thumbnails, in you Editor and in my Facebook, are identical.

       

      While browsing on the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.


      Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.
       

      In case the issue persists, please provide us with a screenshot of the problem. For instructions on how to take a screenshot, please use this link.

       

      To upload the screenshot, simply click on the "Upload" button and follow the steps.

    When I first shared my wix created website in my Facebook both the website description and thumbnail were wrong.

    I realized them I should go to Wix and fix them, which is what I've done, and when I check the updates using Facebook debugger, I can see it is now fixed, but my original sharing in the Timeline does not get fixed and as it already received several likes I do not want to share it again. Shouldnt the facebook debug tool re-scrape it and refresh the post?

      Please note that your post will not changes after your debugger, you would have to remove the post and add the URL after the debugger to see the updated version.

    correction

    When I copy and past my web address to someone, a box with a picture and some writing comes up, but there is a spelling mistake - which I'm pretty sure I've in the past corrected, but it's still coming up. Is there some way I can rectify this?

    Why I change my thumbnail in the social settings and it doesn't work.

    It still appear the old setting that I set before.

    I change many different kinds of browsers , and clear the old cache , still doesn't work .

    I am trying to share my website on facebook. When I share my website it keeps posting the old Thumbnail. Why wont it post the new one and how can i change this?

    Social Settings

    I just recently published my website and I went to the "Social Settings" and uploaded my icon for facebook but every time I go on facebook to create a link to my page the icon is a facebook icon instead of mine and the title that shows up is wrong as well.. I tried clearing it off and putting it back on but nothing changes. Is there anything I could do to fix that? Thanks.
