The twitter API has been deprecated, therefore the original Twitter widget will no longer work on your site.

To add a Twitter feed: Sign into Twitter > go to this link and follow the steps provided > click Create Widget > copy the code from the box at the bottom.

Go back to the Wix Editor > from the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click Apps > click HTML
Click HTML widget to select it >  from the pop-up menu, click Settings > under Mode, choose HTML code > paste the code that you got from your Twitter account.

Our developers are currently working on integrating the new twitter API.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Note: Changing the width of the widget

To control the width of the widget, add a width parameter to the <a > element in the code- see this screenshot for an example:

Note: Removing the scroll bar

When using the HTML widget to add a Twitter Feed to your site, the Twitter Feed may contain either one or two scroll bars.

The inner scroll bar is a built-in scroll bar inside the Twitter Feed. To remove it you will need to add the following code into the HTML code you entered - data-chrome="noscrollbar"

In order to do so, right click on the HTML app to open Settings > inside the embed code box look for the the Twitter Feed URL href attribute and add the data-chrome attribute so the code as follows -

<a class="twitter-timeline" height="405" href=" https://twitter.com/ OTTERappdata-chrome="noscrollbar" data-widget-id=" 345553838234804224">

The outer scroll bar is the HTML app scroll bar and appears in cases where the content inside the HTML app is higher than the height of the HTML app.

In order to remove this scroll bar, you will need to set the height of the Twitter feed to fit the height of the HTML app. To do so, right click on the HTML app to open Settings > Inside the embed code box look for the class attribute and add the height="Enter the Height"  attribute as follows:

<a class="twitter-timeline"  height="Enter the Height" href=" https://twitter.com/ OTTERappdata-chrome=" noscrollbar" data-widget-id=" 345553838234804224">

Now add the correct height.

h stands for the height of the HTML app. In the example above, the HTML box height is 425, so you would set the height to 405, since Twitter adds margins around the Twitter Feed.

So now the code would look like this -

<a class="twitter-timeline"  height="405" href=" https://twitter. com/OTTERappdata-chrome=" noscrollbar" data-widget-id=" 345553838234804224">

Hi Barrios. Yes it is for leanmediaco.com.

Unless I am mistaken (I'm not a tech expect but the twitter widget should not be affected regardless if the DNS points to Wix or my host servers, right? The widget is integrated to the website...otherwise everything else with code on the site should be impacted. Am i right?

The reason why it is pointing to WIX servers is because the MX is hosting on a third party's servers. By changing to the DNS it will probably change the MX as well.

Here's a pix of how the twitter feed shows up.

      Let me know

      thanks

that's weird!!! Because whether I access the website by typing its url or access within WIX control panel to edit it, I still get the same thing--no twitter feed. (photo below)  Which link did you use to view it?

What may be the cause then? I tried also with different browsers and without the Adblock plugin and I still get the same result.

      Hi filmedi2,

I noticed that you are using Safari 537 which is an outdated version and may cause this issue.

Please try to update your browser and let us know should the issue persist.

To download the latest Safari browser for Mac please click here.

      Kind regards,

Seriously? I mean SERIOUSLY!?!  Could I have a real tech person taking care of the issue instead of people who barely read customers replies? What am I paying a premium account for?

So, to answer that last replies from Wix tech support:

      1) like I said in my previous replies. Regardless of the browsers, safari, chrome, firefox.. (I tried with all them) the twitter feed is NOT appearing.

      2) which account did you really check? I wondered if we are talking about the same website or account here? I have only ONE Premium account.

      3) yes, I have the latest Safari (picture) so where did you get the info I used an old safari version? Are you sure you're talking about the right account here?

      4) If a real tech person can actually go to my account and check the website from the CONTROL PANEL and then click EDIT, he or she will see the Twitter feed DOESN"T SHOW UP , even in the control panel--REGARDLESS of the browser.

But I guess to see this, you'll have to do a little effort. PLease, answer only when you know what the issue is and you have actually read my reply.

Followed all the instructions carefully - Twitter feed appeared - settled it into the page fine - and then tried to save everything. Now I'm just getting an error message saying Wix can't save it because I've tried to embed something (uh yes!) and that I should remove it to resolve the problem!

    Now what?

Please sort this out Wix - it's not as if Twitter has just been invented.

      Hi,

Please keep in mind that by adding external HTML code you are adding products and code that we have not tested or created in Wix, therefore we cannot answer any questions concerning the HTML iFrame/Embed App.

If the HTML app isn't working, it may be a problem with the code. You can check if the code is correct by using this site.

Simply paste the html code between <body> RIGHT HERE </body> and click the button above (Edit and Click Me) in order to see the results.

If nothing appears in the right window or a certain component appears but doesn't work, this means that the code is problematic. Please contact the creator of the code and let them know that it isn't working.

If the preview shows the content as expected, then it's a compatibility issue with Wix. We're currently working on improving the compatibility of Wix with customizable code.

      Thanks,

      Gat Wix Team.

I have followed the Wix directions exactly, taking the Twitter-generated code and pasting it into an HTML add-on in my website, but still it isn't working. The weird part is it seems to work in some browsers but not others. (Safari, yes, Firefox and Chrome, no.) The website is www.cinemaiseverywhere.com and the twitter feed bar is on the right hand side. currently it just says "Tweets by @cinemaverywhere"

Please help me to resolve this. It has been an issue in the past and is becoming frustrating.

    Thanks.

Going over your site using Firefox I was able to see your twitter feed without any issues:

While browsing on the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.

Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.

So then, is the current Twitter button which will upload from the Wix Editor non-functioning?  To upload, I'm using the following navigation:  Pages > Add > Social > Twitter Tweet.

ADDITIONALLY, I find it of interest that some of my TwitterTweet buttons actually work okay throughout the site while some do not.  Why?

The following extraneous code is an example of what populates within the TwitterTweet dialogue when I am out on the www.   Seems to be from a parastorage location.  Anyway, here's what the customer/I will see from the DAMAGED Twitter button.

AGAIN, my only question here is as follows:  So then, is the current Twitter button which will upload from the Wix Editor non-functioning?
