Your Site Title is the headline of your website. It is not visible on your webpage but appears at the top of your browser window. In Google and other search engines your Site Title is displayed as the headline of your website. Knowing where the site title will be viewed, might make it easier for you to choose the correct one for your site.

The maximum number of characters for naming the site is 20. My name/title is 21 characters. It throws off the aesthetic in my mind. Would there be any way to get just one more letter on there?

Other than that I have zero complaints. This 'website making' site is extremely easy to use. Tons of options with straightforward editing tools and very user friendly.

Are you referring to the length of the domain name?

Unfortunately this isn't possible at the moment.

We document and learn from every feature request and bug brought to our attention. These objectives are immediately high priority milestones in Wix's product road map.

Has this solution been implemented yet so that we can change our site name? I see this question was posted two years ago?

      Hey  cindygordondesign,

Do you wish to change your site title?

Please enter your editor, and proceed to "Settings" > "SEO (Google)", from here change the Site title.

Your site title will be displayed in your browser bar while your site is loading. Once your site has loaded, the home page title will be displayed. If the site title is blank, then the original site name will be displayed.

Please make sure to fill in your site and page Meta Tags (title and description). If you do not want there to be any change in the browser bar when your site is loading, simply make the site title and home page title identical.

For more information about meta tags click here.

Please also note that changes will take about one month to appear in Google.

Hi, I wish to change the site address (URL), not the title. I already figured out how to change the title in Settings, under SEO. Is this possible or do I have to delete this account and start fresh?

For free Users: The format of the free Wix site URL is username.wix.com/sitename. So if you wish to change your site's url you must change the user-name and site-name.

For Premium Users: If you have upgraded your site and want to view it with your own domain, please click  here for instructions.

      Hello Anja,

Your Wix HTML5 website is built using HTML5 and AJAX technology. This has many benefits, such as animations on your page transitions, the ability to have your background, header and footer stay static while only the content changes, the ability to use all of the new HTML features as they are released, dynamic page sizing, optimization for mobile devices, etc.

To support using this technology, the URL's of your website need to be built in the following manner:

      1. This is your domain name
      2. #! - This is called a 'hashbang'. The # signifies a 'hash fragment' and is the convention being used today to link to content when using AJAX technology (similar to anchors in HTML). The ! specifies the escaped fragment, which is what allows search engines to understand where the content in your site is actually located – this is because the content you're seeing on your site is being rendered via AJAX technology which means that your page isn't 'reloading' – i.e., when you switch pages, your header, background and footer all stay in place. The content actually does exist on the server- but at another address. In order for the search engines to find this address, the ! is used as the 'escaped fragment', which tells the search engines where to find your content (as they cannot really crawl javascript properly).
You can learn more about AJAX technology  here.
      3. This is the name of the page you're on. After this, the symbol / is what we use as part of the mechanism described in point #2. This is where we specify the actual address of the page on the server
      4. This is the Page ID which is the actual address of the page on the server, and cannot currently be changed. This is necessary because it tells the browser (and search engines) where to fetch the content from.

Important Note: In order to share links to your site you must use the full link above (1-4) including the Page ID. Removing the Page ID will yield an invalid link.

For more information, visit our Learning Center page here.

Tip: Please note that if you feel that the URL is too long, you can use the Google URL shortener. Simply add your long URL- including the page #! and the page name, click "Shorten URL" and you will see on the right side the Google URL you can also use. It will look like this: http://goo.gl/ShONge .

In editing my site I messed up something and now the preview that pops up when I give my website URL has changed from what I had saved earlier "MyTrailMate Singapore Business...." to "mytrailmate1" (my wix account name)... where do I go to change this back to the previous version ? Please refer to screenshot.  TIA

      Hey TIA,

If you post to your Wall directly and the information is not up to date, use Facebook's Debugger here. Simply type your website URL in the Input URL or Access Token field and click Debug. The Facebook Debugger will process your site so that the title, description and thumbnail pictures appear up-to-date when you post your site to your Wall or Page.

If this doesn't solve your issue, please let us know so that we can further investigate the issue!

      Thank you,

I tried that link..though I am pretty sure this error came up when I was asked on another post to delink my website from the existing google account to another google account to apply for Adsense.

So here's what I got when I tried to "Debug"...

      Errors That Must Be Fixed

Object Invalid Value Object at URL 'http://www.mytrailmate.com/?from_fb=1' of type 'website' is invalid because the given value 'mytrailmate' for property 'fb:admins' could not be parsed as type 'fbid'.

Please advise further action. Is there any way I could go in and look at the settings that I entered when I linked the ad placements to another google adsense account

facebook.com/mytrailmate is the URL of your facebook page. What you need to add under Settings -> Social settings in the editor is the URL of the profile that manages that page.

Once you fix that you'll be able to run the debugger and update Facebook's cache of your site.

      Hey patsyswired ,

Thank you for contacting Wix support.

I apologize but I do not quite understand which email address you are referring to - the one you registered your Wix account with? The one connected to a domain you own? A Google Apps account you tried to purchase through Wix.

Please provide us with more information so that we will be able to further assist you.

I recently changed the name of my website. If I open a new tab and open my website, I keep getting the old name. How can I change this?

      Hey rebeca12rb.

To change the text in the browser tab when your site is viewed, please add a Site Title through your SEO settings. To do this, go  to your editor > Settings > SEO (Google) > add a site title > save and publish your site:

Please note you can also add individual Page Titles through each page's Page Settings. In case you do, the page title will be given priority over the site title.

I can see that you have purchased a domain name from Wix. However, you did not purchase a premium package which allows you to connect your domain name to your Wix document.

Once you are done creating your Wix document, you may connect your own domain (for example www.mydomain.com). You will need to upgrade your site to one of our Premium packages that allow for this service.
Here is some more information about our different Premium packages which allow you to connect your domain name. Below you can see the details of each package and exactly what services you will receive:
      Connect Domain ($6.90/month):
This package enables you to use your own domain that you have purchased from any domain registrar, but will not remove the wix ads.  You can store up to 500 MB, with 1 GB bandwidth.
Combo Package ($10.95/month) or for the yearly package $99:
This package includes connecting your domain and removing the Wix ads from your site. You can store up to 1 GB with 1 GB bandwidth.
Unlimited Package ($15.95/month)or for the yearly package $149:
This package includes connecting your domain and removing the Wix ads from your site. You can store up to 2.5 GB with unlimited bandwidth.
eCommerce ($19.90/month) or for the yearly package $194:
This package includes connecting your domain, removing the Wix ads from your site and using the eCommerce feature. You can store up to 2.5 GB with 5 GB bandwidth.
You'll find all the details (features, prices…) here.

Our DocName is T.Saver and our site name is Taver but when I publish it on Facebook it always write the t as a small letter. without the dot between the T and the S.

    How can I change it?
