Your site title will be displayed in your browser bar while your site is loading. Once your site has loaded, the home page title will be displayed. If the site title is blank, then the original site name will be displayed.

To change your site title: From the left side of the Editor, click the Settings icon > click SEO (Google) > under Site Title, enter the site title.

Make sure to fill in your site and page Meta Tags (title and description) as well. If you do not want there to be any change in the browser bar when your site is loading, simply make the site title and home page title identical.

For more information about meta tags click here.

Note: If you are a free user, the "| Wix.com" text in your title bar will remain. The premium plan includes removing the "| Wix.com" text.

Note: Changes will take about one month to appear in Google.

      Hi Matthew,

Wix phone support can be scheduled by clicking here. Please be sure you are logged in to your Wix account and be prepared to provide us with some details of your issue.

Please be aware that it can take anywhere from 1 – 3 months for your site to be crawled and indexed in order to appear in search engines such as Google or Yahoo. This waiting period is the same for all websites, not just those created using Wix.

To see if Google has indexed your website, as well as the last time this happened i.e. to see a cached version of your website, enter your website’s URL with the word cache: before it in the Google search. For example: cache:www.mydomain.com If your website comes up, this means Google has already indexed it.

Remember, if your website has not been crawled and it has been less than 3 months since publishing, don’t worry – give it a little time and try again.

Alternatively, you can help speed up this process by submitting your website to search engines directly. Use the following links to submit your site to:

      Google

      Bing

Wix guarantees that all of the text and meta tags on your site are being scanned by search engines, however we cannot guarantee that Google will choose to assign your website a high rank, this part is up to you.

Make sure that your websites content has been optimized in accordance with the advice offered in our SEO Learning Center. We also recommend that you use the SEO Wizard & Monitoring tool for a more in depth analysis of your site’s SEO.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

    Hi WIX Team,

I am a premium account holder of albatrossfloorball.com hosted under wix. I would like to change the title of my Wix site that appears in the browser tab. Currently, it reads "Albatross Singapore Floorball Team 2013", even though the settings of the SEO (google) site title is "Albatross FC".

Would be grateful for your guidance on this matter. Thanks.

      Hey,

I have visited your site and the correct title was displayed as you can see in the screenshot below:

Remember, whenever you make changes to your website, these changes need to be crawled again by search engines, such as Google, before they appear in search results.

If the issue persists, please also add a  screenr  of this issue so that we can further investigate it on our end.

      Hi,

Q1. I checked your site and I saw you added 7 text box :

Please open the editor and remove all the text boxes you added to the header area.

After you remove then all, please add the text box ' TAXI IN WEYBRIDGE ' again.

Q2. The reason you can't click on the navigation menu buttons is because one of this text boxes is covering the navigation bar:

a name other than my domain name shows up when I open my web site

I started building my wix site under one domain name then changed the name when I changed the focus of my site; however, the first name I chose shows up in the search bar as my new web site is loading.  I have been asked to change that and don't know ho.  When anyone opens veteransfamilycamp on line "firstladyannlepage" shows up in the search bar.

Carla et al - I do have a name in my SEO because I tried to rectify this problem 4 months ago.  At that time I put in the name Veterans Family Camp.  When I opened it today that name appeared in my Site Title line under Settings - SEO (Google).  I added the Site Description and Keywords and published the changes - can you check again please?

      Hi,

I'm afraid the username part of your domain cannot be removed.

However, your can change it to a different username- simply sign in to your Wix account > click My Sites > hover over the user panel at the top right of the page > click Account Settings > next to User Name, enter your new username > click Save Changes.

You can also change your email and password on this page.

Note: You cannot change your username to one that you have previously used or that someone else is using. It must be a unique username.

Let us know if you need more help!
