How can I delete a dotted line across the page? It was in your template, and it goes right across my logo.

That's because the site froze and lost everything I had done on it right after I sent you the message. I have restored everything back to where I had it. Here are screenshots of the problem.

Please don't worry, you will not see these lines within your live site.

Gridlines appear inside your editor to help you build your site's layout. Currently your site is fixed at 980px in order to accommodate the largest number of internet users that will be visiting your site. You will want to place all of your site's content inside the Gridlines to ensure its compatibility across different browsers and devices.

Checkout the video below to learn more about our Gridlines feature that will help you with your site's layout.

The gridlines do not appear on your live site - they are there as a guide that can help you map and design your site better. To remove the gridlines, simply click on the gridlines icon from the top menu.

Your response was kind of non responsive since what you suggest is exactly what I've been trying to do.

Even when I try to change the color manually...the underline does not change and I think that's because of a line of a different color is being used elsewhere on the page.

Notice how your links are blue and blue underlined in your response?  I can't get mine to do that because of using a line elsewhere on the website that isn't blue.  Does that make it more clear as to the problem I'm having?

      Hi conniegleav1,

      Currently this option isn't possible.

You can vote for this feature in this thread.

I have no problem adding lines to a page but if I have lines elsewhere, (say in the header), and I change the color of one line...it changes the color of all the other lines on the page too.  How do I stop that from happening?  I want to have different colored lines on a page.

Also...I'm wondering why when I link words to a website or document, etc. the words don't have a blue underline and I can't make the line be blue even if I change the color to blue.

      Hey  conniegleav1,

Please note that currently there is a limit of four different line styles per website.

      To customize your line style:

      1. Double-click your line.
      2. From Line Settings, click Change Style.
      3. From Change Style, next to your style, click Edit Style.
      4. From Advanced Styles, change the Skin, Colors and Width of your line. Click OK.

You can simply change the hyperlink color by entering the editor > click on the hyperlinked text >  at the top menu choose the option "color" and choose the color that you want to use.

When I'm on editor my website looks fine, and even when I visit my website on another browser on my laptop it looks fine but everyone else when they visit sees the line about an inch higher and it goes right through some text. Why is this?

Firstly I love Billie.. so nice to see you guys using Wix to build her site,

I was not able to recreate the issue, do you know the what the browser is they are using, if it IE8 then this would be the reason,

Wix is not compatible with IE8 because IE8 does not support HTML5 technology.

Many large technology companies, such as Google, have stopped supporting older browsers (IE8 included) in order to focus on advancing the future of internet technology (like 'HTML5').

Perhaps most notable is that Microsoft has been forcing IE updates from IE8 to IE9 through windows updates (although you can opt-out of this) - for the same reasons stated above. You can read more in the Windows blog post from last year here.

Unfortunately we will not be able to provide support for IE8 and other older browsers that do not support HTML5.

You can also read the article on the Wix Blog here.

Wix is compatible with Internet Explorer (version 9 and above), Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

If your site visitors have Internet Explorer 8, you can add this code so they will be prompted to update their browser (please note, this code does not fix IE8 inability to support HTML5). Please follow these steps:

      1. Copy this code:

      <!--[if lt IE 9]> <div style=' clear: both; height: 59px; padding:0 0 0 15px; position: relative;'>
      <a href="http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-9/worldwide-languages" TARGET="_blank">
      <img src=" http://storage.ie6countdown.com/assets/100/images/banners/warning_bar_0000_us.jpg" border="0" height="42" width="820"
alt="You are using an outdated browser. For a faster, safer browsing experience, upgrade for free today." /></a></div> <![endif]-->

      2. Open your HTML editor >  Add > Apps > HTML
      3. Click on the HTML app > Settings.
      4. Change the mode to "HTML code" and insert the code above.
Please note that you can also find the code  here - you will have to change [if lt IE 7] to [if lt IE 9].
To download the latest IE version, click here.
For more information about adding an Internet Explorer 8 Detection widget and for other widget design options, click  here.

If this is not the case can you please find out what browser it is happening with and try to ask for a screen shot

You can find step by step instructions here .

Please let us know if you need any more assistance.

      Hi  ddixon0316,

This is the footer of your page.

A footer is the area of your website that appears across the bottom of your site and appears throughout all of your pages.
The footer may contain your contact information, copyright information or your social media icons.

For more information about organizing your pages, click here or check out our interactive site about header, page and footer (simply click on the image below):
