Boxes allow you to break up your site into boxed sections and help you to design the layout of your site.

To add a box: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click Shapes & Lines > click Box.

Change your box's style by changing it's background or skin. You can also drag and attach elements to the box.

    Hi,

I also have a problem shortening a box. Was there a response to the question addressed by Alina above? I can shorten it but it bounces back to its longer form immediately. Thanks.

There are two boxes that I can not move as they appear to have moved behind my page. I can only see them when I change the opacity to clear. I can not click on them to move forward. How can I move or delete these boxes so I can carry on with editing the page?

    The page is named Directory,

    Thank you,

    Scott

      Hey Scott,

Your page is sent to the front and covering items that are located underneath it, which makes some items in your site unreachable and therefore you cannot edit them.

In order to send it to the back, you need to click on it and click “send backwards” until it cannot be pressed anymore (it will turn into faded colors once it is sent all the way to the back).

      For more information, click here.

After doing so, you’ll be able to reach all items and edit them as you please.

Should you have any further questions, please let us know! Thanks, Customer Solutions

Hi, I have added several boxes of varying sizes to my website. I have noticed that some boxes that overlap other boxes and features have a small white triangle next to them. I assumed this was only in editing mode so that Wix users could click on the triangle to select a box behind another box or feature during editing, and this worked for me fine. However, when I viewed my site in preview mode the small triangles were visible. Can someone please explain how to get rid of these small white triangles if possible or let me know if they are not visible when the site is live?

Please note, I have corrected the problem. I believe it was a setting in one of the styles of my boxes. Sorry.

I have unchecked the box that says "show on all pages." However, one of my boxes is still showing on every page, covering other elements. I only want this box on the home page. What am I doing wrong?

      Hi,

I checked your site and I can see that there is a text box on your home page that is still set to appear on all pages. Please make sure that you are selecting the text component and not the Box component.

If you are still facing a problem, please let us know what specific component that is causing the problem and where exactly is it located.

    Hello,

    1.

I am unable to "shorten" one of my text boxes.

    2.

he text in three boxes that I have on a page are displaying the text with slightly different spacing in between the lines of text. I have all settings for font, and heading and font size synchronized. So how do I fix these 2 issues?

Help again! I found the "lost text box." Now the test to it also shows up on the next page, over other text. How can I correct this mistake?

help! I am having trouble with a text box on the home page.  First I "lost" it, then I found it. For some reason I cannot re=size the bigger box that it sits in, and when I went to the next page, the text showed up on another page as well. How can I fix this???

      Hey carolann966,

If your text box is showing on more than one page, please click it > in the float panel that opens, make sure the 'Show on all pages' box is not checked.

Please also organize your text boxes one next to the other, and not one on top of the other, as this may cause layout issues.

      Thanks,

      Michal - Wix Team

      Hey carolann966 ,

Please note you can find all of your backed-up versions in the Site History section in My Account, mark the important ones and name them.

You can also overview of all edits and changes you have made to your saved and published website. It makes it easy for you to view, flag or restore to a prior version of your website at any point.

      To access your site history:

      1. From My Account, next to your site, click Manage & Edit Site.

      2. From the right of the page that opens, under Site Actions, click My Site History.

      Your site history page opens.

For step by step instructions click here.

      Thanks,

How can we insert a box that doesn't moves even when we move the scroll bar? In other words, I want a box which has a fixed position. For example- when ever I make website at that time I see black ribbon at the top in which there is preview, save, publish, upgrade etc option, and doesn't moves even when we move the scroll bar!

      Hey karunikatrip,

Unfortunately, at the moment you cannot add a fixed element to your site.

Please feel free to add this feature request to the Wix Wishlist

      Thanks,

    Hi,

I saw someone had already asked this questions, but I didn't see a response anywhere. Maybe you guys can help me.

I added a few boxes to a specific page (discography) within my site and customized them to my liking. I then added boxes to the home page and customized those differently than the ones on the discography page. Yet when I went back to the discography page I found my previously customized boxes had changed to the settings from the ones on the home page.

Are all boxes required to be the same setting? Is there no way to add a new box without it formatting all the boxes within the site?

Help is much appreciated, thank you!

    -Chelsea :)

      Hey Chelsea,

Currently, there are only 4 box styles (which, when edited effect all the other boxes that are the same style).

You can vote for adding more box styles in this thread.

Please click  here for more information about using boxes in the HTML editor.

      Thanks,
