We recommend saving your site as often as possible, especially when making multiple changes, to avoid losing new information.
 

If necessary, you can always revert back to a previously saved version from your Site History.

 

To access and restore your saved versions: Sign in to your Wix account >  next to the relevant site, click Manage Site > under Handy Shortcuts, click Show More > click Site History.

On the left, of My Site History, click a saved version > click Restore.

    Hi,

     

    I've created my website on Wix, I purchased my domain and hosting from another site. I'm ready to start uploading my pages but I cannot find them saved on my laptop. in folder format.  Can you help please as I'm about to throw my laptop out the window!!!

      I'm not sure I fully understand what is the issue you are having. 

      Please elaborate on the problem you are having so we will be able to give you the best support, provide us with as much relevant info as possible.

       

      For example, what are you attempting to achieve, did you receive any error messages, when does this happen and did it work properly till now?

      My issue is basically my knowledge and capabilities. I have completed my website on Wix and I have uploaded the files to my hosting site (register365) but I am at a dead end regarding what I should be doing next.

      Hello,

       

      Please note: in order to edit your site you need to sign in to your Wix account > click My Sites > next to the relevant site, click Manage Site > click Edit Site.

      To open or view one of your sites: Sign in to your Wix account > click My Sites > next to the relevant site, click View Site

       

      Regarding the domain, please note:

       Your pointing configuration in your registrar (not Wix, but your actual domain host) is incorrect.
      To fix this, please follow the instructions here

    Save Error #C4033. Please try saving again. If problem persists please contact support with Error #C4033 (Failed Saving Master Pages) in your email. Error #2032

      Hi,

      I am sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties.

      The problem you are experiencing may be due to your Master page's name.

      Please try the following in order to resolve this:
      1. Make sure that no trailing space is present: "My page" is a correct example while "My page    " isn't.
      2. Make sure that the page name only contains the following characters: a-z, A-Z, 0-9 and "-".
      3. Make sure that your page name isn't longer then 15 characters.
      4. Make sure that the dimensions of the site should not exceed 2800px.

       

      While working on your Wix site, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.

      Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here:

    I finally started to get the hang of it..

    Hello,

     

    I am so frustrated right now. I spent over 2 hrs and almost had the first and 2nd page done, and I went to change/edit the slideshow feature on the main page default image, and some how it deleted the whole default picture "Under Home Page (Properties)..and I didn't think to save as I thought since I am logged on, I should be able to go back to what I had done already and I don't think any of it is saved...Can you help or guide me to see if I can at least obtain the design i used for my page.?? man, am I pissed....

      Hi Julio, 

       

      We are sorry to hear that, but it is necessary to 'save' your work so you can continue editing your website. No website is saved in your account, therefore, it is not possible to restore the work. 

       

      Please select a template and start editing it once again.

    I'm having problems saving :(
    I saved a couple of times but now, everytime I try to save, it says that an unexpected error has occured and to please make sure am logged in.
    I am obviously logged in so I don't know where the problem is.

      Please note that clearing your browser's cache will not resolve all issues.

      We also recommend you to try and use different browsers and see if there is any difference.

      Wix supports all major browsers (including IE, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari), and all of those browsers support the ability to export favorites and bookmarks to the newly installed browser.

    I have a final project due Friday and I've been working on my site making a newspaper page look alike. I worked all morning and almost ALL of my work is gone except for the title. I was saving it quite a lot. I was doing this in the computer lab on campus and when I get home and log into my page from my laptop and it's all gone. Im extremely frustrated and don't know where it all went. I went into saved history and it says when I saved, but all my stuff doesnt show on there. I really really need all my work back because I have a lot more projects and papers due this week and don't have time to continually redo all the work I had saved before. How can I get what I had done back? Thanks.

      Hi,

      Please sens us the name of the site you are referring to.

       

      You can now find all of your backed-up versions in the Site History section in My Account, mark the important ones and name them!

      You can also overview of all edits and changes you have made to your saved and published website. It makes it easy for you to view, flag or restore to a prior version of your website at any point. 

      To access your site history:

      1. From My Account, next to your site, click Manage & Edit Site.

      2. From the right of the page that opens, under Site Actions, click My Site History.

      Your site history page opens.  

      For step by step instructions click here.

      You can also create a duplicate copy of your site by going to My Account, clicking Manage & Edit Site and then clicking Duplicate Site. For more information, click here.

    Hi Wix team,

    I have just spent all week designing a new web page for my business and having a blast! I have been saving my progress along every step of the way, but never publishing as I was not finished. Tonight, as I was ready to finally publish the site I saved my progress and logged out, updated my OS software (restart) and then logged straight back into Wix to publish my site with the new software installed... It says I have no site saved. 'We've noticed you're yet to create a site, click here to get started'... Heartbroken. I can't find any 'Site History' section either. Where has all my hard work gone? Can you help?

    Hi,

    While working on my site I suddenly lost most of my work on the site (it was all saved up to that point). I have followed the steps to restore site (12.38 AM), however although I clicked to restore and go to editor, my text is still missing. Please help me with this issue. My site is 98% percent complete and I`m only seeing about 40% although I clicked on restored. Frustrated. Thanks in advance.

      Problem is still the same. I am seeing the update in the site history, however when I go to the Editor it is not the same. I`m ready to update my account and publish, but these issues are not encouraging. Will hate to restart the site because I put a lot of time into what I`ve done so far. Awaiting your reply.     I thought I saved my site Monday and went on today to finish and is not there.... just prior versions. 2 whole pages (The "Clients" page and "Workshops" pages were done...on the site I have called Iamtabitha

     

    can you help restore these at all???

      I checked your record but it only shows the following versions;
       

      1 5/9/13 10:10 PM
      2 5/9/13 10:15 PM
      3 5/9/13 10:41 PM
      4 5/9/13 10:43 PM  

      Other changes you have made wasn't saved, hence we are unable to revert it back.

      We are very sorry for the trouble this has caused you.
      Please make necessary changes once again on your Editor.

      Have you guys considered some kind of autosave? This was seriously 5 hours of work lost. Very discouraging.

      We currently don't have an auto-save option. 

      It is very important to save your site occasionally to avoid loosing your work due to various reasons.

      Note that the saving process is very simple and all you need to do is click on the button (top right corner of the editor) once in a while.

       

      You can now find all of your backed-up versions in the Site History section in My Account, mark the important ones and name them!
       

      You can also overview of all edits and changes you have made to your saved and published website. It makes it easy for you to view, flag or restore to a prior version of your website at any point.

    I woke up this morning and my computer had restarted overnight, my website has been restored back to the original editable beta version (into the wild page) and I lost EVERYTHING. Please help! Page is "Arboreal Architecture"

      If you didn't save the changes we will not be able to restore your site to a previous version.

      I checked your site settings and I saw the last saved versions we have are: 

      A   4/2/13 8:50 PM

      B  4/2/13 7:10 PM

      C  4/2/13 6:36 PM

      D  4/1/13 5:55 PM

       

      We can try to revert your site to of the above.
