In order for any changes to your Wix site to appear live, you will need to publish your site.

To publish your site: From the top of the Editor, click Publish > review your SEO and Mobile View options > click Publish.

After a few seconds, the confirmation box will appear > click OK.

Note: Saving changes will not make them appear live. Every time that you save your site, you will need to click Publish to make the saved changes appear live.

Hi, my site appears perfect when editing yet the preview version and live site is completely black in colour. I have checked it from a couple of different computers and it comes up blue for a few seconds then pitch black. www.shecc.com.au

Can you please explain the problem? Thanks, Anna

      Hey Anna,

Please note that i was able to recreate your issue.

You can see in the editor that your Footer is marked as 'Fixed Position', which means that it will scroll with your site.

In addition, your Footer's size blocks most of the screen, therefore we advise you to decrease it.

In order to decrease your footer size- please make sure to move the text component from the left bottom corner.

You can't see it because it contains black text. In order to get to the component- Please use the keyboard shortcut 'Ctrl+m' (or 'Cmd+m' on a MAC) in order to move along the components in your page.

And lastly- Google bans sites which 'council' text boxes (like your black text over black background) which can damage your SEO. We strongly recommend you to change the text color.

Thanks, I cleared my browser's cache but it made no difference. Essentially I posted updated photos and changed my calendar and repertoire lists on the site editor. All the changes stay saved but the old version comes up on the internet when even after it says that the new one has been published to the public.

Too late, all my work has been lost as the system wouldn't save/publish and had to refresh and start a new session.

Why should I have to use different browsers when I've never had any difficulty with this before? surely you should make sure your system is compatible with the different browsers rather than your user have to create multiple versions within multiple browsers (just in case??) connections or devices? Ridiculous. 4 hours work completely wasted

We’re very sorry, but we can’t save your site right now. We’re aware of the problem and are already working on it.

In the meantime, please exit the editor and start a new session.

What does this mean, very loose response to the issue....have exited and started a new session, just to see my work lost again....

I have clicked on "publish" (several attempts) once I finished my site.  If I click on the link given to me I can pull up the site.  If I go through my internet browser I can not pull up any site--it says that it was not published.  I have read the replys above--my website  at nhartkline53.wix.com/middle-creek-quilts may fit with the answer about removing the -  in the name--but I can't seem to do that and Wix stuck them in there in the first place!  Would like some help getting this published asap.  Thanks!

I've checked your site and it is live and online, as you can see in this link: http://showmecrafters.wix.com/show-me-crafters

This link mentioned is the link for your site.

If you're referring to finding your site on search engines, please note that in order for search engines to find your site you must allow them to do so by going to your sites editor --> click the "Settings" gear wheel icon from the left toolbar --> "SEO (Google) --> Move the dial under "Allow search engines to find my site" to green (currently it's set not to allow this). Also, it takes about 1-3 months for your site to appear in search engines. Please note that this waiting period is the same for all websites (not just in Wix).

Please be sure that your site is search engine ready by reading about SEO here. This is relevant for your site as I've noticed that you haven't added full meta tags to your site pages and to your SEO general settings.

    Dear Wix Support:

I recently took over my client's site from another subscriber. I had no problem publishing and then when the former employee transferred the account, I've suddenly had trouble publishing. My changes show up in Preview but not after I Publish.

I checked your live site and editor and was unable to locate any unpublished changes.

I can also see in your account that you've last published your site successfully 23 minutes ago.

Please provide more information so we can further investigate the issue- do you get any error message when trying to publish? do you see any specific changes not being published, and where can we see them?

Thank you for your cooperation and we await your reply.

      Hi !

If you don't want your site to be visible to search engines, you can unpublish it by going to Settings > SEO (Google) > click the toggle "Allow search engines to find my site" -> click "Done". Please make sure the toggle is red.

Once you have clicked the toggle be sure to hit Save!

      Have a great day!

      Hi tompkins1971,

I checked your desktop site and the problem is that you haven't added navigation to your site (buttons or a menu) to move from one page to another.

For instructions about how to add a menu click here.
For instructions about how to add a buttons click here.

This should fix the problem :)

      Thanks, Nicole,
