      Hey,

To add a Contact Form: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click Apps > click Contact Form

Click the Contact Form to select it > from the pop-up menu, click Settings > under Email To, check or correct the email address > under Email BCC, enter email that will be blind-copied when your visitors fill in the form > under Customize Form Fields, choose which fields should appear and rename them accordingly.

Note: The default email address in the Email To field will be your Wix login email. You can change this email address or leave it as is.

Note: We also have several additional contact form apps available in the Wix App Market! To see a list of contact form apps, click here.

For further information about the Contact Form, click here or watch the video below:

    Hello,

Images that are added to pages that are not password-protected will be crawled freely by Google. If you would like certain images to remain hidden, you can add them to password-protected pages and provide the password to your clients.

If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Password protection not working for website

Hi, I have a website www.globalstudentpads.com created using WIX and I have added a password protection to the home page so that only people I want can view the contents of the site. However despite setting up this password the site is still loading as normal, and not asking for a password to access.

    Please advise.

    Thanks,

    Hello,

Dina, can you please elaborate a little further on the solution you are suggesting?

I do not get what you imply by "a second menu for all other pages by adding individual buttons"

It's quite urgent as it is our wedding site and the password has already distributed via the invitations. Unluckily, I have not realized that the password was only protecting pages and not the whole site.

For the time I have member login which is even worse :(

    Than you in advance,

    Eugenia

    • leel Wix Team

Replied by leel July 9, 2014

      Hello Eugenia ,

The workaround Dina suggested means you create one main page and instead of having all the pages you want protected in your menu you create a button to each on of the these pages, you can order all the buttons and have them look like a second menu composed from buttons.

This way your users will only need to enter the password once and will be able to navigate to all the other pages on your site.

Please keep in mind: You will need to hide from the main navigation bar all the pages under the Main Portfolio page.

To hide an individual page from search engines: From the left side of the Editor, click the Pages icon > next to the relevant page, click the Settings wheel > under SEO Page Settings, check the box next to Hide page from search results.

To link a button to an external URL: Click the button to select it > from the pop-up menu, click Link To > click Web Address > under Insert a web address, enter the URL > choose whether the link should open in a new window or the same window > click OK.

      Hi ncindymee3,

You can add a password to your home page and only the ones that have it can login.

I have merged your post into this thread- you can see the best reply above :)

You can also hide it from search engines- To hide your whole site from search engines: From the left of your Editor, click the Settings wheel > click SEO (Google) > click the toggle next to Allow Search Engines to find my site (make sure it is red)  > Publish the changes.

      Thanks, Nicole,

I am using wix.com for my professional portfolio.  Currently each page/link is password protected.  Is it possible for their to be an initial password when visiting my page, which will then give you access to all other pages.  It seems a little cumbersome to have to insert a password with each page when navigating my website.  Thank you!

      Hi Chris,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to set a one time password for several pages.

As a workaround you can try the following:

You can add a main Portfolio page and password protect only this page.

Go to the ' Main Portfolio  ' page and add a ' second ' menu for all other pages by adding individual buttons.

This way your visitors will need to under the password only one time, on the Main Portfolio ' page and will be able to navigate to all other pages.

Please keep in mind: You will need to hide from the main navigation bar all the pages under the Main Portfolio page.

To hide an individual page from search engines: From the left side of the Editor, click the Pages icon > next to the relevant page, click the Settings wheel > under SEO Page Settings, check the box next to Hide page from search results

To link a button to an external URL: Click the button to select it > from the pop-up menu, click Link To > click Web Address > under Insert a web address, enter the URL > choose whether the link should open in a new window or the same window > click OK.

    Website access

Hi, I have published my site and want users to be prompted with a password only. At present, each time I update the website and re-publish, access to the site is prompted with a "provide email address" and wait manager approval etc. How do I avoid this? Thanks Stephen B

Thanks Nitzan...but was is currently happening is that every time  I edit my site and re-publish, people get prompted for an email address address (manage site member) and I get asked to approve a new site member. If they refresh the screen a few times, only then will it ask for a password only. Hope that makes sense. Thanks,

      Hi,

I have accessed your site and noticed that i was not published after the changes.

Please note that publishing and saving a site are not the same. Publishing the site will make the changes live for the site's users.

I have published your site and it is now asking for a password as Nitzan showed you.

Hi Rony, thanks but after I edit my site I first save it and then I publish it. When I try to view it live after any changes it prompts me for an email. Only after I have refreshed a number of times does it ask for the password. I have tested this on a no of computers now with the same result. Thanks,

      Hi,

That's currently not possible. Regarding your original problem, I couldn't replicate it on my end. Prompted only a password on my end.
