Member Login is not a premium feature - you can add it to your website even without upgrading.

You can read more about this feature here.

We are here should you require any further assistance!

I would like to use the Wix website like a kind of intranet, so with internal information for employees of our company only. How can I do that best? The information can't be shown in Google or on any other place on the web. The idea is that our employees login once, on the homepage, and after that all information is accessible to them. I know it is possible to add a login button, but that only applies to that page. I want it to apply to the whole website, so people do not have to login for each page they visit.

Now we use Joomla for our intranet, which is installed at our server and therefore only available to our employees. But because Wix is much more user friendly, we would like to use that for our intranet.

Look forward to hearing from you, thanks!

      Thank you for your feedback.

You can turn your homepage to a member-protected page, thus enabling only members to visit all the pages in the site. However, it will not display a different version of your site for members and non-members,

We document and learn from every feature request and bug brought to our attention. These objectives are immediately high priority milestones in Wix's product road map.

Feel free to add your feature request to our Wish List by posting here.

ok, so you mean that we add the login button to the homepage? And all other pages, are they automatically protected or do I need to indicate that somewhere?

      Thanks again!

If you add it to your homepage, no user will be able to access your site without entering the password on the homepage and that makes you entire site protected.

Should you have any further questions, please let us know! Thanks, Customer Solutions

Just one more question: we would like to place the latest news with 'read more' buttons directly on the home page. Is that information visible before logging in? If I now look in the preview mode I can see that information without logging in...

      Thanks for your help!

When adding the login button to the homepage, do I need to check the box 'show on all pages'? I don't want people to have to login for each page of the website they visit....

And do I need to protect each page with the option 'require site login' (from 'Settings & SEO')?

      Hi hydro-pro,

Note that no information in your site is visible before logging in when you password protect your pages.

Please note that you need to protect each page individually if you wish it to be hidden from search engines and not accessible to random viewers (it is not enough to protect just the home page as previously stated by one of our representative, I apologize for the confusion).

You simply need to protect page via the page settings, then only site-members can see it.

Note: Your members will not have to enter their password each time they navigate between pages.

If you require further assistance, feel free to contact us again.

Another question about images: Is it possible to make a kind of image library from which visitors can download images? They can download files, but I can't find such a solution for images. Thanks for your help!

      Hi hydro-pro,

      Thank you for contacting us.

When adding the Member Log In button to the Home Page, it will not show the content in the page unless the user logs in, as seen in the screenshot.

Please note that the content in the Home Page is not shown.

Regarding the Images, you have several options:

      1) You can add a Gallery to the page from which the users can enlarge the desired Image from the ones available, click on it to enlarge it, then right click and select save image as. To learn more about galleries, click here.

      2) You can add the Anyfile App from the Wix App Market, which  lets you upload files of any size and type to your site. To add AnyFile, click here.

Please contact us if you require any further assistance.

Thanks again for your feedback. I prefer option 1, but when I right click and 'save as', I can only save as a web page and not as an image type, like jpg or png. Is that something I can change or set somewhere or is option 2 the best one in this case?

Unfortunately this isn't possible. Option 2 would be the better one in this case.

they need to totally redesign that login system, it is definitely not practical at all and not enough options to change it the way we want it! Total disaster!

Currently, you can customize only the language  and color of the member login button.

We understand that additional customization options are required and we are working on adding the following customization options:
      - Customizing the position of the signup\login window.
      - Adding more layouts for the signup\login window.

If you require additional customization options, please feel free to add your request and feedback regarding this feature in this thread.

Learning how to add a  Member Login Button and what it can do for you is found at the following address: http://www.wix.com/support/main/html5/wix-editor/pages/password-protecting-pages-and-adding-member-login-button  I read through each part and was able to make it possible for parents to login to a Parent Login Page where they can access their child's grades.

At first, parents create a login account so to speak by entering their email address and their own password.  Their email address shows up on My Contacts where I can approve or block them from the Parents Login Page.

I believe in your situation this would work for you as well.
